I totally agree. But those guys are kind of old. One suggestion that comes to mind: Bobby Simmons.

Camby's contract matches with Simmons, and they are both expiring. We know that Simmons fits into Dunleavy's scheme (such that it is) and he provides the same things Camby does (toughness and defense) but at the SF position instead of PF.

This isn't my favorite solution, but I think it solves some short term problems and the long term results are the same (cap space).

you obviously hvent watched shanon play besides a few games in the playoffs. I watched brown play with MSU, te cavs, a bit with the bobcats and then the Lakers. The guys was a flash in the pan and not worth more than 2 mil/year. He will fail in a system outside of Kobe's ball hogging. When there is no focus on him he is great but he is not a great passer and cant shoulder the load himself.

how bout we trade zach to indiana? they need the inside socring since JO got traded. with him and granger the two main scoring options, they will be enough touches for everyone.
we trade zach for a couple of there bad contracts, i would be willing to take em if it means they dont disturb griffins development.

How does this benefit both teams? Detroit gets an expiring contract who is a serviceable player and an up and coming small forward who they can wait and see on. This frees up money to sign Ben Gordon and have more cap space for 2010.

For us, we become stronger on the wing, and win now. We keep our center, Kaman.

We could also trade Camby for Rip Hamilton straight up and then have Eric Gordon play the 1 and the 2 to spread the minutes around. I do that.

Put vets on your team and you win.

With the recent news of Yao Ming's injury, the rockets need a big men. We have 3, Zach, kaman and Camby.

We can trade Camby and Collins for Tmac
    Kaman and collins for Tmac
    or Zach for Tmac

I think we should trade Baron to Houston straight up for Tracy McGrady. and then send Kaman to Oklahoma for a future first round pick freeing up money for Ben Gordon and a starting position at point guard.
    Ben Gordon
    Eric Gordon
    McGrady/Thorton
    Griffin
    Camby
    Randolph

Or, we should just keep the team together and move Kaman to Houston because maybe Baron will be the right point guard for this team. If we do this though, I'd want Shane Battie and Aaron Brooks.

tracy mcgrady is one game away from a career-ending injury. ball hog.
ben gordon is a ball hog with a low FG% (see baron last year)
trade kaman and you're without a true center

There is no way we get Ron Artest for Kaman . Not even sure if they would do Kaman for Artest straight up.
    Plus we need that center.

I'd do Shane and Brooks for Kaman for sure.
Brings us depth in the back court.
Leaving room for Camby (15-25 mins a game) , DJ (15-25)

it would have to be a sign and trade with artest so he would have to agree to come to the clippers which i dont think would ever happen

and unless its a wow kinda deal i dont see dunleavy letting go of kaman or zach, camby is the only one that has been offered by the clippers....and it was for mike miller soooo i dont think were getting a top quality player for him....which is understandable, camby is awful

and theres no reason to have a guy making 1o million to be playing 15-25 mins...he's pure trade bait

try watching the NBA every once in a while.

Kaman is as true to an NBA center as possible. He has good post moves is a decent shot blocker a good rebounder, not fast and he gets injured a lot.

Thats the definition of an NBA center!

t mac is always hurt and coming off of two surgeries. ben gordon is not a point guard and can't play the position.

I'm highly on getting rid of Zach Randolph, so that Blake Griffin can start. Though, I do not want to give him up for nothing. I want talent and expiring contracts coming in. I was messing around on the ESPN NBA Trade Machine and all of these deals work. There's a few that are not realistic, but most of these teams actually need that 20/10 PF to shake it up.

Zach Randolph for Boris Diaw, DJ Augustin, and a filler (I don't know about Zbo pairing up with Larry Brown again though)
Zach Randolph for John Salmons and Tim Thomas (Expiring Contract)
Zach Randolph for Tayshun Prince, Jason Maxiell, and a filer
Zach Randolph for Udonis Haslem (Expiring Contract), Dorell Wright (Expiring Contract), and James Jones
Zach Randolph for Luke Ridnour (Expiring Contract), Charlie Bell, and Joe Alexander
Zach Randolph for Bobby Simmons (Expiring Contract) and Rafer Alston (Expiring Contract)
Zach Randolph for Quentin Richardson (Expiring Contract) and Marko Jaric (YES! Old Clippers))
Zach Randolph for Earl Watson (Expiring Contract) and Nick Collison
Zach Randolph for Andres Nocioni and Kenny Thomas (Expiring Contract)

Somebody pass this along to the front office!

Zach Randolph for Earl Watson (Expiring Contract) and Nick Collison

Chicago and Detroit would give the most value back, everybody else no. People complain about what Zach gets paid but want Jaric and he's an overpaid bench player on any team he goes to. He's known for having the longest span of missed shots in the NBA. I would wait to make a move and when I did it would be for one of the Rockets swingmen or Hinrich or detroit. If we deal with houston it would have to be Camby because they would want his money off the books to start rebuilding. Yao might be done this is the third time he's broken that foot. If Detroit gets Ben Gordon then they would part ways with Rip if they get Hedo they would let Prince go. I think we're waiting to see if Hedo goes to Toronto or Detroit. Kaman would love to play for his home town.

Called that baby! I should be the GM...jk Dunleavy gets mad props pulling this trade off.

    Check this scenario out:

We trade Camby and (back for a second time) Q to the Spurs for none other than Richard Jeffereson. The salaries match but better yet both teams will definitely think about it because a big man like Camby will compliment great with Duncan and, they'll have a new three-point shooter with Q. But we get Jefferson who is a proven small forward that will make shots, rebound make good decisions and pass the rock better than Thornton. Then Thornton is left without a spot, which is good because we would then trade him to Minnesota.

With Minnesota, we'll trade Thornton. This is good because his Thornton's game clashes with Eric Gordon's and they won't let each other develop (just an idea). But most importantly is what we get from Minnesota. Minnesota would send to Clipper nation none other than Ricky Rubio and Shelden Williams. We might have to give up a first-round draft pick in 2011 just to get the salaries to somewhat match. But think about it, wouldn't Minnesota want to get a promising small forward.

In Los Angeles, I think Rubio would definitely play, maybe even this year, plus we get a good back up to Griffin in Williams. Rubio would develop great behind baron but knowing it is only for a matter of time because he would be the Clipper's point guard of the future (maybe even not so distant) Please tell me what you think! ...and maybe how to get this to Dunleavy so he can finally put us on the right track! Smile

    We get:

    Richard Jefferson
    Ricky Rubio
    Sheldon Williams

    We give:

    Marcus Camby
    Quentin Richardson
    Al Thornton
and maybe first-round draft pick in 2011

We missed our shot it getting high young talent like Hill after the Spurs got Blair they are going to try to build for the future.Spurs have Hill-Udoka(sp.)-Blair are solid start up pieces for them.

They may still want Camby but they may give less now with the pieces they have added oppose to the holes they had before.

Udoka is definitely no building block. he's about 32 years old and a physical defender and somewhat capable 3-point shooter.. and thats about it..

How about Q-Rich and Ricky for Boozer.

Then our TPE for either Korver or Harpring.

Sure we get the better out of this deal, but this deal helps the Jazz stay away from luxury tax hell and makes it much easier for them to sign Milsap to a long term deal. The Jazz are already at 73 million and that with Milsap scheduled to make 1 million this year. Trading our TPE for Korver would save them 5.15 million and 10.3 million with the luxury tax. Harpring makes 6.5 million and that would be 13 million with the luxury tax.

This deal for us gives us a damn good post player in a contract year so I'm sure he would be busting his butt. This would take a lot of pressure off of Griffin and would give him one year to get his feet wet in the league.

Both of these deals are also 2010 cap friendly.

^^^Putting aside my feelings on Boozer (never much cared for the guy), I don't think we need a player of his caliber added to an already crowded front court. I think Camby's ability to play PF will help in easing Griffin along, if need be, especially if Kaman can stay healthy and return to form, and if DJ continues developing.

But our expiring contracts and Utah's high payroll could probably be a factor, especially if a third team can be found willing to take Boozer..

If they can't get more than Ricky and Q, then there is something wrong in the game of basketball... Boozer is a solid player in the prime of his career. He plays at near all-star level. If they can't get more than two journeymen for him, there is something very wrong. The Jazz are still looking to compete, not to rebuild.

We were able to get Camby because the Nuggets had decided they needed to dump payroll, moving him and Iverson out so they could start rebuilding. The fact that they actually got better, I think caught them by surprise. Billups was the glue and the Birdman was a revelation.

It's not about getting Ricky and Q for Boozer. It's about us trading the TPE for Korver or Harpring. Trading our TPE for one of those guys would save the Jazz up to 13 million. There's no need for us to make this deal unless we get something of value in return. The two pieces to want from the Jazz are Boozer and the 2010 Knicks pick that they own.

We may not need Boozer since we have Griffin, but having Boozer for one year in a contract year would make our team a lot better. This would also allow us to continue to talk to teams about moving Kaman or Camby. With teams playing small ball these day and teams not having true centers, I see know reason why Boozer and Griffin can't be on the floor together.
