Hey guys I am really excited for this year! I think that the combination of veterans and the work ethic will translate in chemistry and success!

The only thing I am concerned is who are we going to depend on outside shooting? I know we have CP3 and Butler.... hopefully Willie Green gets out of his slump.

I am satisfied with all our bigs, but if our outside shooting is not on point we will have to rely on the uptempo 'lob city' style of play (exciting I know). But I cringe every time Blake is hammered goin for the lob. Just hope we can survive the full season!

Go Clipps!

Blake showed he can handle is own elbowing MWP, plus now we have Barnes who did a few lobs, Hollins will get a few, and DJ will get more! Blake is gonna shoot those mid rangers, and dunk when he's bored of making wide open shots! wink

Don't base it on last night. They guys we are counting on to be our outside guys were not that aggressive or were on the bench. Blake is a tough guy,,in another life he was some type of gladiator.

Still man we kinda suc from the 3 this preseason. I do hope Green can start making a few, or if not just give it to him to deliver those and one dunks on the fast break!

I really hope as far as outside cp3 will set up Caron and Chauncey to light it up in the 1st quarter. Then EBled can set up Willie and GHill off the bench!

If our outside shooters demand respect from opposing teams, it will keep us healthy for the long season and open up crazy highlights for the bigs and the slashers (Jamal and MBarnes)...

Oh Me Oh MY!

I am not so worried about the 3s, because we're monsters on the inside, most of our points come from the paint, and eventually the 3s start falling. But seriously CP3 and Butler gotta stop hesitating, you have it wide open, take it!

I'm not worried about our 3point shooting.. During the Lakers 3 peat teams and back to back teams there were terrible 3 point shooters, but they did make the shots when they needed them. Were the same way.

3-point shots are more of a luxury in my opinion, good defense can take them away!

I am more worried about free throws from our bigs. We need to improve on that to avoid trouble in late game situations. During last nights broadcast, Ralph and Mike said shooting coach Thate thinks Blake Griffin is not going to be a "good" shooter but that he will be a "great" shooter.... I really hope that he is right about that but somehow I doubt it. I'd be happy if he gets a decent shot and free throws up to 70% (DJ too).

we'll be able to overcome the streaky shooting if A.) we improve our rebounding, and B.) we're able to hustle back in transition. the deep bench helps with the conditioning needed to run and defend.

Once Hill comes back, we have something we lacked for years, since Mobley...The Mid-range game. Hill is one of the best mid-range shooters. Don't forget about Billups either. We have the shooters, we just need time to get everyone back. Not worried at all.

leBron and Wade basically terminated their 3 point shot last year and were so much more efficient. None of our perimeter players are bad 3 point shooters but they aren't great, so we are going to be more of a dish and drive team.

I am not so worried about fts from our bigs, you look at Hollins he was perfect from the line yesterday and he shot a bunch, BG is 50% but Thate think he can become great at shooting, so we'll see, and odom was right indeed, we did win the game at the ft line with all those makes!

Of course injuries are a concern especially serious ones. However, the point of having such a deep team is to withstand a total collapse if their is an injury. Obviously if there is a serious injury to one of our key players than we have a problem. But if guys miss a couple games here and there, we have the depth to fill part time needs.

Injuries are always a concern, but why worry about something you have no control over? 3 point shooting is your concern? We have CP3, Chauncey Billups, and Jamaal Crawford. Matt Barnes showed an ability to hit the long ball this preseason and Willie Green is not that bad from behind the arc either. I have confidence in Bledsoe shooting the 3 as well. I think we need to give the regular season a few weeks before we are too concerned about anything. We look really ready for the season and the opening schedule is Clipper friendly.

My biggest concern is 3 point/perimeter Defense. I don't have the stats but teams during the preseason have killed us on wide open 3s.

My biggest concern is defense in general. Outside of blocks and steals, we dont really have a defensive identity. VDN isnt really a defensive minded coach imo and wasnt a good defensive player when he played. Its tough to block or steal those 3point attempts.

Uhhhhh what else besides blocks and steals can you count as defense? Blocks cover the paint, and steals cover the perimeter!

Well there you go. I stand corrected. Didn't realize it was that easy. Carry on.

Billups,Crawford,Butler, and hopefully Green can all shoot well from outside. They just need to get out there and get the looks from CP3 and they will likely knock it down. The reason our shooting hasn't been that good is because the guys shooting are the training camp guys,Bledsoe and Barnes who aren't strong shooters and Green wasn't shooting well, seems to be getting his rhythm now.I don't worry about our outside shooting much I think we would be fine in that. The Blake thing does worry me a bit though.

Only 1 team scored more than 100 pts on us in the pre-season and we took care of them last night IN Denver. We allowed the opponents an average of 92.3 PPG...4th best in the WC this pre season. I think we'll be in the top ten in that department this year.....not worried.

To arrive healthy at the most crucial moments in the season is all I ask for.

We have greatest team I've ever seen since I follow the Clippers

the only thing i worry about is ft shooting, however based on last night, bg might shoot close to 70 percent from the line this year. his shot is improving rapidly. DJ might get to 60 percent. that would be huge. i just want the defense to improve, such as little improvement like rotating back to the opposing team's shooters and closing out on them. but other than that, the clips will have a historic season.

I see that it is free throws that keep us under the 100 point score projectile, if last night was a glimpse of what is to come in the regular season, we will be DANGEROUS, no LETHAL!

I think we're good from deep this year even though they haven't shown it yet. Willie was one of the best last year, he didn't forget how to shoot. Crawford and Billups can both go for 30 on a given night. All three SF's can shoot it from deep. Lamar is one of the best bigs in the game from long distance...And of course CP3 is an excellent shooter himself.

Again the depth will win us games because if Foye or Mo or Caron were having bad games last year, we really had no choice but to keep them on the court. This season, the whole 12man bench is a legit option. One guy is off, the other guy goes in.

There's no question we'll have injuries this year. Probably a lot of them, but it would take an act of God to deplete this depth to the point that we lose games because of it. As long as CP3 and Blake are in uniform, the supporting cast is so versatile that we'll be able to cover up just about anybody else's absence.

We must learn to defend the 3 ball better

And cut down on our fouls. We were ranked 27th in that department as our opponents averaged 25.3 FTA per game.

spot on. the fact that our guys will get consistent open shots due to the ball movement this team has been displaying will only serve them to make 3's at a good clip. and i agree, our depth is impressive.

Let's not forget Bledsoe. Did he miss a shot against LAL. Didn't he hit a three? I think he'll be a shooter.

Actually he missed a lot.....7-18 (.389%), 1-4 from the 3pt line. He'll get better over time with his offense....hopefully.
