Die hard Clippers fan here. I spent over a decade waiting for 2 or 3 prospects to develop into studs making the Clippers relevant. After all that time the EB, Cassell, Kaman year is all I have to show for it. It's pretty sad. I'm ecstatic at how amazing the new game plan has worked out. We got CP3 (a top 5 player in this league) for Kaman (Hornets took him for trade value, and found out it was zero), Aminu (long shot prospect with big upside, now the Hornets have given up on him just like the Clipps - see....

Bledsoe at 17 is ending up to be a steal.

With Grant Hill saying he will most likely be retiring after this season, should Clippers try to bring back Aminu or should they try to keep Barnes on the team?Still VERY early and Aminu still could be extended but just curious to know what you guys think.Barnes is still a very good role player but does have a lot of miles on his body while Aminu is a young player with a pretty good upside.I am very surprised the Hornets won't extend.

Lol we should sign aminu to vets minimum contract and keep him solely on the practice squad just as a final FU to Stern.

I like Aminu he has some jump shot, very good defensively! It would be a nice pickup if no one else does it! Much better than Leslie, and he can turn into a 6th man rather than a role player!

Glad to see the Hornets reloading so fast but some of their moves dont make a ton of sense.

Yep Clippers really got a steal when it came to CP3. Eric Gordon who can't even stay on the court and is overpaid, Aminu who might not even pan out, Kaman who had zero trade value, and Austin chucker Rivers....

Well as a two decade observer I would say CP3 is one of the top 5 ever,,probably the best PG. But I wouldn't call it it trade as mush as Stern up to some shenanigans I am yet to understand. It sure was the one that for some reason decided to help his old bud DTS build a team and get us a real PG to play with our star PF. However I am sure we didn't initiate this deal as much as it fell into DTS lap.

I wouldn't mind at all seeing "THE KINg" back (I think that is what Aminu's name translates into).

Aminu would be great to have back in the fold. I watched a few of their preseason games and he looked solid. He is a good rebounder and defender and decent shooter.

Guys come on to those who even say get back Aminu! Decisions like that make francishes take a step back instead of forward. Wow man theres a reason why the hornets are letting him go. And why we let him go too. Are you serious not even for the vet minimum id want him back. As far as keeping Barnes man. I think that getting Barnes was awsome for us. We have to thank CP3 for quickly picking up the phone and telling the Front Office why dont we sign this Kat. I would much rather resign Barnes and please dont even bring up that Aminu conversation. Its a no brainer in my perspective. We want to move forward and win. So by doing that we need to make great decisions and not bring back players that will be of no use for us! I love my Clippers!!! GO CLIPS!!!

He's had a ton of upside for awhile now...

...I think it is safe to assume he will never reach it.

Kaman was pretty much their best player and left because he was a free agent. i think that's what you meant.

W-O-W!

Eric Gordon is just too brittle. Thank god he's not playing for us anymore.

Jesus Christ, Gordon's career reminds me of a spin-off of Gilligan's Island, right when you think he's ready to go Eric "Gilligan" Gordon screws it up.

Also look at how we traded Eric Gordon who got a giant contract didnt play at all last year, and already this year he is out for a indefinite time. So the hornets let Kaman go, Aminu after this year and the extended Gordon who cant seem to get on the floor.

They got trade raped

^They got raped before all that stuff happened IMO. Top 5 NBA player, the top QB in BB, in his prime and future HOF'r for the stuff they got.

That trade was simply a no brainer then and now....and that's an understatement, LOL.

^^ Yes and yes. It looked better for the Hornets at the time though. Consider this scenario:

-they Kaman before the deadline last year for a pick or a serviceable player

-Gordon stays healthy and willingly sign an extension

-they trade Aminu last year for a pick or something serviceable

2 more picks or decent players plus a healthy Gordon plus Davis plus Rivers plus Anderson, you are starting to assemble a very decent team.

Dont understand their thinking on Aminu and Henry. Those guys are certainly not future all stars but they can both ball.

Yes it went from a bad-very bad trade to an extremely horrendous trade. None of the trade pieces are working well for the Hornets. Austin Rivers(10th pick) is garbage, Aminu did not pan out, Kaman was loss for nothing, Gordon got the max and is injury prone. Overall, the value they got was pretty much a net zero while we got CP3 the best PG in the league.

^I think its too early to conclude Rivers is garbage. Hornets are hanging with the Spurs tonight with rookies Rivers and Davis. Aminu looks really good and Vasquez does too.

trade: Hersey Hawkins for Charles Smith

and what's not to like about Xavier Henry ? would like Paul George better, and....

not so sure 'bout bringin' Aminu back.... at this time/moment, definitely in favor in continuing to pair up Barnes 'n Bledsoe.... yo !!

Maybe a bit too early but he has been absolutely beyond horrendous in the preseason and in the first regular season game. He does nothing really but provide volume scoring on horrible efficiency. I think Aminu has potential but I am still doubtful that he will reach it.

he played great last night. I think they are going to regret not pickuing up his option for $3 million

I wouldn't be surprised. Like I said he has high upside but its only one game. Who knows if he can reach his potential. Who is this Vasquez guy? He seems like a pretty good playmaker. I think he was playing pretty well in the preseason.

^^^ He had some solid games for both the Griz and the Hornets. He is a good playmaker so might fit in well.

Vasquez ... had to do some research as well. Man he looked really good last night. On paper, there is no way the Hornets should be hanging with the Spurs late into a game. There a re a few decent veteran players, some rooks and an always injured star. But they did it, and have the look of a group that will beat the second tier of the league and give the big boys a good game.

I knew who Vasquez was during his days with the Grizzlies but never really thought he was this good.Only one game but still showed a lot of potential as a play maker which is what Hornets really need. Not much of a scoring threat but if he can get 8-10 assist a game he is doing his job because Hornets got guys like Aminu,Davis,Rivers, and Gordan who will do most of the scoring.

Speaking of Gordan I wonder how the Hornets would have done if EJ was playing.Could have won or might have been worst with the ball in Gordan's hands more instead of Vasquez.Still this team has potential if they can stay healthy. Also I wonder if part of Gordan desire to play for the Suns was that he wanted to work with their medical staff. He might have thought he would be able to stay healthy under their care.

Gordon is a top 10 if not top 5 WC sg when it comes to playing, it is just he can't stay on the court!

Lol even if you are as good as MJ it doesn't matter if you can't stay on the court. Gordon played 9 games last season and he might miss another season! That is crazy! This guy is not worth the max at all. He has a bad attitude and openly admitted he didn't want to play for the Hornets. Also being a top 10 SG does not=worth the max. Harden is a top 3-5 SG and people were flipping out that he was getting the max and the dude is only 23 and can actually stay on the court.
