this one was straight up from the clippers site, they write some sort of article every day, for either a player, or practice, or something that will keep you comin' for more!

If B-12 and Jamal Crawford can keep this up, teams will find it very difficult to take their starters out. I noticed that many of the top teams we play have to keep their starters in over 40 minutes just because our second unit will blow the game open against their bench. This will definitely be a weapon throughout the season and, once Billups and Hill come back, we will have even more depth.

? are you a lakers fan? lets just call him bledsoe..

we have the deepest bench PERIOD... the question is can they continue to play like this every night....

I sure hope so, forcing teams to play their startes 40+ mins to keep up works even if we lose the game... All that means they wont be able to beat us in a series.

I'm trying to gain momentum on B12 because I think it would be an awesome nickname for Bledsoe. Lets keep this momentum going on his new nickname...haha. I actually am a Lakers fan as well, but I think the B12 name is not really a compliment to the Lakers. It's more like, "You got D12, well we've got B12."

Keep Hill injury free and save him for the playoffs. Our team is gonna be the least worn down team heading into the playoffs cause of this new found depth. This is the main reason why we are making it look easy right now.

but does this bench have it without HILL? if we do, where does he fit? if not, who gets benched for hills minutes?

Also he'd need to play with the group to get a groove going. Chemistry is made on the floor... Yes there is practice, but realtime gameplay vs real opponents is a different experience.

or should we let barnes take some of the mins? obviously Hill should start but can he? too old? tired? not 100% ready?

does anyone know when he's suppose to return?

I'm not quite sure why Hill isn't ready it has been 6 weeks after all after this road trip it'll be 7 weeks since his injury! I guess we'll see we don't wanna rush anybody but man we would like to see him play now!

maybe, but we can wait another week or 2 i think. If barnes continues to play like he did last night he can take those mins for now...

didn't he play the whole 2nd half?

Yeah he did, but people get tired you can't just aski him to guard all these awesome players(Ginobli, KD) for 48 minutes, I still think Butler will be able to play a few minutes in the next game!

watching last nights game, provide how much depth this clippers bench has... wow!

it was good to see but they can't get cocky.... they must still remain humble and treat every game as if they are playing for their lives

NO of course not... I am not asking for 48mins..... i was trying to make sense of it all.. if he is able to play a whole half he's good 5-7 mins a quarter... that's all

I think the reason why we're able to win all these grind out games, is DEFENSE, even when we had an off night we played good defense and we won, our culture has changed! Bring on OKC!

Barnes will get the minutes even when Butler gets better and Hill returns. As I debated with some before, Barnes is the better all around player than the other SF's.

His defense and positioning are too great to be wasted on the bench!

True, but I hope they had the talk with him from the begining, "BARNES you're not going to average too many minutes this season, deal with it." Barnes: ok but I get to stay in LA? "yes" ok where do I sign.

That's changing with ever game Barnes plays.

C'MON MANG...... i never said he was a bust.... I was just talking about his minutes.....

let me ask you this.... without really seeing Hill's play this season (so far) and seeing what barnes has done. in your opinion, who should get more minutes.

IMO i still say Hill but I guess it would depend on the match ups.

Barnes.....I argued Barnes had the numbers to be the starter before the season even began. Again he's the best of the SF's on this team.

never thought we would be discusses who's the best out of 3 great players for the same position....

Somone said it a few posts before "we dont have a second line up, we have our 2 set of starting 5"

this is an awesome season!!! GO CLIPPERS!!

I would take Caron Butler over Barnes in a heartbeat. He's been with the team longer, he's put in his share in the postseason, he usually is the reason we get off to a good start.

Although I do feel Barnes is a bit scrappier and does, in fact, have better on court chemistry with Lamar - and a lot of the second unit.

Being with the team doesn't = being the better player now. Again Barnes is just that, especially with the $ he's paid.

IMO Caron gets us off to a stronger start don't you think? He is usually one of the first to score... And the way he scores is way different than Barnes. Caron could be trusted with shooting, spreads the floor and allows our ball movement to really flow.

Matty B struggles with shooting, preferring to cut and get grind out points, which works perfectly with the second unit.

I like Matty B coming off the bench, I think that fit for him is truly helping him shine.

Butler can't do anything else but shoot, and the bad part is he shoots LONG 2s, when he misses them he's pretty much invinsible, he doesn't drive he doesn't pass, he doesn't get to the charity stripe, and his defense is ALMOST average!

I think Caron's fit with the starting unit and Matty B offf the bench combo would yield better results than Matty B starting and having Caron come off the bench (if that is what people are suggesting). It is all about finding the right fit and right chemistry... and so far we are 8-2 with Caron starting and Matty B coming off the bench.

Caron has been good for the 3 ball as of late and we saw last game what happens without him hitting them makes the game tougher. As far as the current team if Butler is out next game you almost have to start Odom at the 3. You can not afford to burn out Barnes with heavy mins. Allow Odom to be thrown into the fire his defense has been solid so far. With Odom struggling on offense leaving him in with Turiaf and Hollins with the straight second unit would mean OKC could trap Bledsoe and Crawford. Odom can't get open cuts because he does not have the speed or quickness yet.

With the starters Odom can help playmake with Paul and get Green, Griffin and Jordan easy looks. Playing with Paul in itself should get Odom some easy looks and its not like we would get killed with spacing because neither Barnes or Odom can hit from deep.

I'm not saying that Barnes should start over Butler, Heck no, just would be nice to see something else from Butler besides shooting, like DRIVING, remember like he did when he broke his hand in the Pos, just driving and dunking he needs to do that!

I agree with you... It would be interesting to see how LO would respond as a starter (temporary), especially vs OKC.

Yea I'll cheers to that. Caron may need to bring back some more weapons as the season goes on, but for now I think his shooting is exactly what we need. Green and Butler are no shooting specialists, but if they keep knocking them down (hopefully more as the season continues) then it truly changes the playing field for the rest off the team.

In theory it would be a perfect switch fit especially when Billups comes back to have a strong perimeter defender while giving the bench a better offensive threat and Butler himself more touches on offense.

On the other side Butler is not that athletic anymore and he may slow down the pace of the second unit that plays at a higher energy. Barnes has the speed and quickness to keep pace with Bled and Crawford as does Hill I believe when healthy from his Suns days. Our perimeter offense will get jammed up when we need to score half court and even though Butler is much of a stand still shooter now he is still that a shooter and it fits better with the other starters we have on the team.

Overall I see Butler going to the bench next year and hopefully in the coming years if he returns to the team after his contract expires and moving forward with Crawford and Butler (Bledsoe may become a starter at SG). Then the team being able to get a legit all-star caliber SF
