Well 86, ClipperSam, cp3best and other fans who doesn't have much on faith on this team. Well there you go, a well defined game right there. Credit to everyone and VDN.

i agree. when you been a fan like myself through thick and mostly thin for the past 21 years, 2 losses in a row arent so bad. did those losses piss me off. they did. because like 86 said, they lost due to lack of trying for the first 3 quarters. but im hoping this effort is for the long run. no more taking opponents lightly.

Yea you know I get heated all the time when they don't play hard. I don't mind losses where they leave everything on the court. What I CANNOT stand is when they play lazy like they don't give a damn and lose to scrub teams, ESPECIALLY at home.

Understandable, I was afraid that you would be that type of fan that would only say negative things. Glad you're back to the lighter things,.

Great game Clippers! Great effort by DJ and BG! Out rebounded the Spurs 46-29! Great defense, causing the Spurs to have 20 TO's. And this is coming from one of the most disciplined smart teams! Much improved guarding the 3 pt line, 8-23 3's. 15 TO's is an improvement. Clipps shot over 55% against one of the best defensive teams!

Better not take the Blazers lightly. At home, they are a tough out. Plus they are fresh and did not play a game since Monday. Pretty lucky they had 3 days to scout and get ready for us.

"The Clippers haven't been together very long," Popovich said. "Last year they weren't really together. It's not like they've been together for five years and they know each other and everything is golden and everything is smooth. It takes time for a team to get to know each other.

"They made a huge leap last year and became a very good basketball team and they're going to be an even better team this year. The only question is how good and how much better."

Didn't ole TooHip say it might be a blow out? These are the Clippers we know and love. I was once one of DJ's biggest critics but since pre season I'm a fan. Did you see the move where he had his back to Duncan and DJ spun and scored? By the end of the year Duncan will have big problens with DJ if he contines to improve. BG's FT is OK. 5 more games and they'll have to guard his jumper.

LO shot two air balls. Lawler said it best. His mind remembers but his body can't do it. You can see what he's capable of doing it but he's clumsy and uncordinated. He's thinner though. Hopefully in a month or so with a lot of work. Being paid $8mill and having a team believe in you should make you want to come in in shape. There is no excuse. Screw personal problems. We should get a refund because of personal problems and he gets paid for production

#6 Did somebody say Bill Russell? Yes he needs to score without a doubt. If he continues to score he'll require a double team in the post. What happens then? Nice ****. Two baby hooks or was it three and that nasty spin on Duncan. Al lot of his points WEREN'T on Lobs

I haven't seen him hit one FT in shoot around

When he plays like he did last night, he definitely should get more minutes. But the problem is that he doesn't always play like that. Some nights he's constantly out of position and committing bad fouls. If he keeps that kind of performance to a minimum, he'll be on the court a lot. Let's see if he can put back-to-back strong games together tonight against the Blazers. We're going to need him to play the kind of defense he played last night against Duncan on Lamarcus Aldridge.

It was very nice to see Matt Barnes have his first good offensive game. He was a big asset...

I hope Odom doesn't prove to be the waste of 8.5 million dollars he appears to be... Thank god it's a one-year contract, so there is hope. If he doesn't get it together, his career is over. No one will ever pay him more than the minimum.

Gotta love Bledsoe... Obviously, there are a lot of teams he could start for, but he seems the ideal guard off the bench. That role suits him so well.

Last nights game was an amazing display of what this team is capable of. Above all I believe the turn round is attributed most to Chris Paul starting the first quarter hot and getting everyone involved. You can see the difference when chris paul distributes over ten assists last night and less turnovers (a win over the best NBA team) and when he doesnt (a loss versus the Cleveland Cavaliers). Blake Griffin's impact on the game is extremely evident when he posts up the 20 points and 10 rebounds, and this leads me to my next point. In the preseason I argued for Barnes splitting more time with Butler. Last nights game was a great example why this rotation is better than simply Butler at the 3 full time. Barnes, although not a good scorer, is a better passer and rebounder than Butler. Barnes found Blake on at least two lobs last night, and that helps keep our second best player involved...Butler cannot do this ..he is simply a solid scorer. Vinny needs to keep a rotation of Barnes and Butler. Even if one guy isnt doing well that night the difference in what each brings will give opposing defenses fits.

Let me move on to Deandre Jordan. Where the hell has this version of Deandre been? Jesus I cant believe we got this guy in the second round. Still, i hate these up and down performances from him. Because right around the corner is a 6 point game. If he logs 14 points 9 rebounds and focuses on defense that would help our team effort better than looking for these huge higlight dunks and highlight blocks. We need to make sure Deandre is playing fundamental ball.

Last but not least it looks like our bench showed up last night. Barnes, Bledsoe, Green, and Crawford all scored in double digits. That is the huge difference between last nights game and the two losses we had against Cleveland and Golden State, where our bench went AWOL.

I noticed that during this game our collective team effort resulted in 30 assists, we out passed san antonio and the result was a win. Against Cleveland we only got 23 assists and Cleveland distributred just a tad bit better. I think Vinny needs to emphacize for these guys to look at themselves as passers when open opportunities are not there. Thats what we didnt do againt Cleveland its like our best scorers: Griffin, Paul, and Crawford were shooting way too much at the expense of passing to someone who may have been open. Clipper Joe this is where you and I agree that Crawford scoring 25 points a game is impressive but detrimental to the overall game. Its the basic premsie that no one in the league is going to make 100% of their shots, and some of those wasted shots that didnt go in could have if they were given to another player via an assist.

This is the team we all envisioned, and the team playing like this will get us a championship.

I'll give Kmart a 2 yr deal and tell him his role is to play limited minutes and tell him to sign it only if he's serious about accepting his role. Tbh I don't think odom can come back from his 6th man of the yr form. The guy has been out of shape for 2 yrs now and all of the sudden he's gonna turn it on at age 33. I have my doubts that's why I would love to have Kmart for insurance purpose

No. Even when we had scrubs on our team we always come up with big wins against really good team. The true signs of being a contender is bringing out your best game whether its against top contender or non playoff teams

If we win tonight that makes up for the 2 losses against Cavs, and GS! And did u guys notice that DJ didn't go for the dunk EVERY time, he had some nice layups, and his post game is really developing into something special!

The team got the message about rebounding. Defense was spotty at times, Spurs got some wide open looks but they just missed, we dodged that bullet several times. Ultimately, I hope the last 2 losses served as a wakeup call for this team to understand they need to show up every night with intensity and killer instinct.

Some insightful comments by the great Pop: Popovich is no stranger to what the Clippers are trying to do. Del Negro routinely calls his former coach to pick his brain in the offseason and has ever since he retired as a player. But now Del Negro is doing it with an eye to emulate and possibly overtake his mentor. "You have to have the desire to do it, it has to be in your blood, and Vinny had that," Popvich said. "He always had suggestions and he always wanted to talk about basketball. He watched film and understood what won or lost.....

Peep the avatar.

I gave my friend 10 points with the Spurs and I still won haha

It is funny the Spurs is my most hated team of all time, because eeeeeevery year since they last won a title everyone says the same ole cliches about them and they NEVER WIN. Just like this season, they can win 70 games and people will always say the "never underestimate The Spurs" "i see the Spurs in the Finals" " I would never count out the Spurs" and every year those people are wrong and me in saying they suck am right. I was not surprised we won like we did last night but the one thing that does surprise me? That we could not win 1 ****** game against this team in the playoffs last year. That really grinds my gears. No matter how many games The Spurs win this season they are not a serious threat and they have not been one in a while. It is like people always give them a chance just because it is the basketball thing to do, but no, they are done.

Anyway, overall great victory. Won me 100 bucks and as always The Spurs proving me right. A mixture with us playing great and the Spurs playing horrible and well it is reflected on the scoreboard.

Possibly my favorite victory all season right here 8)

And one point I want to make. Ryan Hollins plays GREAT D. Yes he commits stupid fouls, yes he makes stupid plays sometimes, but the way he was holding his own...standing his ground, just bodying up whoever went at him with his hands up the times and he would not foul was GREAT. Alot of my friends dislike this guy but I really like his style. The way he challenges everything and plays yeah he is going to rack up alot of fouls, but boy is he great to have coming off the bench

Funny how that works. If we lose a game, he's the worst coach on the planet, it's all his fault, fire him and execute him while you're at it.

If we win, it's all about the players.

Even the train wreck that is the Lakers still has a coach with a cool seat. Even though their "fans" want to blame him and call for his firing, Buss came out and backed him today to the press.

We're two weeks into the season and already it starts with our more uneducated "fans". Every loss=Fire The Coach. Just get used to it. There's smart logical people in this world and there are also plenty of complete and utter morons.

So anyone who thinks Vinne should be fired is a "complete and utter moron?" I am guessing you have not been to finishing school. I am not of the mind that he should go (yet), but there are very good reasons to support that conclusion, and several folks on this board have made good arguments for it.

You said it I didn't. I'm sure you had a wonderful experience at charm school for young girls but I'm not here to be cute or cuddly or paint anybody's nails or do your hair. That's cool for you, just not everybody is in to it.

Yes, ANYBODY who thinks we should fire the coach who just led us to the best season in franchise history and has had a grand total of 5 games so far this season (with a winning record and signature wins under the belt already) is not thinking logically!

And I'll say the same thing in Dec. regardless of our record.

If it's Feb. and we're losing and guys aren't playing to their capabilities, OK go ahead and fire the guy IF (BIG IF) there is somebody legit out there to scoop up. Coaches who are unemployed have failed in one way or another. There's reasons why guys like McMillan and Dantoni don't have jobs. It's not that they're waiting and hoping that the Clippers will fire VDN and they'll get the call. It's because nobody wants to hire them. Firing your coach midyear almost always results in a lost season. It would have to be a long term change (as in we're screwed this year regardless) and I for one do not want ANYTHING at all messing with this team's chemistry in the most important season ever.

The fact that the Clippers had the best season they ever had had little to do with VDN. Remember when the Clippers were on a losing streak and people were calling for VDN's head? He isn't exactly a good coach and he didn't lead the Clippers anywhere. Getting CP3 allowed the Clippers to get a better record. Thats all there is to it.

I also don't think we should fire VDN unless we can get a clear upgrade and if we were to do this it should be early on not midseason. So VDN looks safe but please don't act like he has lead the Clippers to the best season ever because he has to have notable positive impact to do that and as far as I am concerned he does not. Not saying he is a bad coach but he hasn't proven himself to be good either.

Your not much without the horses my friend, no matter how good of a coach you are. There are only a very few coaches that really can make a difference with average to above players and no superstar(s) on the team and with that said, their limited on how far they can go.

Don't think there's anybody out there that can make a real difference, except for Phil (and he ain't coming here) or maybe SVG. I think we play it as it lays this season and see where we end up. I'm betting on it being pass the 2nd round, which would be a historical achievement and a crowning coaching moment in Clipper land.

Anything more than that is icing on the cake and we can deal with any coaching situation next season....IF necessary.

Our two losses so far have mostly been caused by laziness by our players rather than VDN. It is a double standard but it is easier to pick out what a coach is doing wrong rather than right. Also sometimes people are frustrated and the coach is usually an easy target especially if they are not particularly accomplished.

Actually I really doubt Phil could do much without stars. Phil has always worked with top tier superstars and he was always good at keeping player's egos in check. The only coach that is active right now who could overachieve with averagish players in my opinion is Popovich. Your right though. Coaches in general cannot win with a garbage roster no matter how good they are but we are a good team so that is pretty moot. I think VDN can improve with defensive sets and rotations but overall I think he is satisfactory and getting rid of him is pretty pointless unless we get a clear cut upgrade and not many clear cut better Head coaches are available.

Basically what I am saying is a good coach with a crappy roster can't do much(you can go from very mediocre to average but nothing more) while the type of coach you have when you have a good roster can make a huge difference. A bad coach can make even a good team bad and a good coach can make a good team great.
