Is it just me, or does it seem like there's more posts in the game day threads when we lose?

Great game despite the loss. I was proud of our effort. Loved Barnes' contribution tonight and this effort only solidifies my calls for a 50% time split between Barnes and Butler.

Time to move on. We can't win them all. All we can ask is to compete every game.

Next games are winnable. @Brooklyn, @Atl, NO, Minny, Sac. That should be 5 straight wins and that would make us 13-3.

I hear you. My point is we can't let one loss turn into 2-3. Our schedule moving forward is pretty manageable. We are gonna win a lot of games.

This is just a bump on the road and OKC is not chopped liver. The loss vs GSW and Cleveland was 100x worse.

Great post. I am never happy with losses, but I was ok with this one. The effort was there and they fought tooth and nail...not like the GSW andCleveland Losses

Of course. One thing he brings is a better three point shot. I prefer Barnes having more minutes, but a 50% time split between the two is cool with me. bottom line we do need Butler in there to hit the big threes that he seems to be able toi hit better than Barnes can.

I am heading to NYC for thanksgiving and going to the Brooklyn game. Hoping this loss makes them play their best. Gut wrenching loss. I agree about Caron's sharpshooting. Can anyone tell me if he has attempted a free row is season? I honestly can't recall...

I know there's no "moral victories" but it's hard to look at this game and be too mad at our team. After winning in San Antonio, we go into OKC and send it into overtime. Despite no Butler. Despite CP3 having a REALLY off game. Despite OKC shooting 47.8% from outside the arc.

We still out rebounded them (by 1, but still...), and we forced them into more turnovers. There's some good stuff here.

My only issue is I really get annoyed that CP3 feels he has to perform the heroics at the last second. I know he's pretty reliable in the clutch, but take the shot when it's there. If you have to struggle to get the shot off, find an open man. The weird thing was BG was down low with TWO DEFENDERS ON HIM while DJ was hanging out by the 3 point line on that last play of regulation. What was that all about? We need DJ down low in that situation and BG outside. Then we need Blake to WANT the ball! And we need Paul to be willing to GIVE him the ball. Or give ANYONE the ball. It can't always be Paul every single damn time!

There...I had to vent for a moment.

Anyway, I'm still proud of our guys. Nobody is gonna look at this game and say, "Well, there ya go...the Clippers aren't legit!"

There is a moral victory in this though. Props to the Thunder but we took em to OT at Oklahoma without Butler and with a bad shooting night from CP3. Also, if this were a game in our seven game playoff series the Thnder would be in trouble Durant was in there for 46 minutes..they are going to burn their starters out thats the biggest thing I took away from this game. Vinny and our guys lost this game but didnt over exert themselves in that process Thunder cant claim that...it took everything they had, at home, with Butler out...and Butler provides some key threes that would have spaced the floor for us...oh and guess what the remaining two games we got against the Thunder are in LA...big moral victory here

I just cant stand that he's there though. Orlando is a stupid franchise..they give up Brook Lopez and a nice package to gift wrap Dwight Howard to the Lakers for nothing. The ORlando magic should be an official minor league team of the Lakers the way they groom talent for them. As much as we get criticized for our history we have never had players the caliber of Howard and Shaq, and when we arguably did (Griffin) we surrounded him with a great cast.

What the elite teams like SA have done for years after losses is follow it up with another winning streak. We can't afford to be the Clippers of old and lose 2-3 straight now. Elite teams just don't lose more than one before bouncing back. Another 3+ game winning streak will offset this loss. Now that the two most difficult teams are out of the way on this road trip at 1-1... Brooklyn and Atlanta SHOULD be easier.

And why do the Lakers always get their trade partner's best player? First Gasol, and now Howard. Bynum is a great center but he's never gonna be a franchise player with his injury history.

Clippers take the Western champs to O/T... lakers lose by double-digits to the worst team in the conference. In the division race, it's a push for tonight, but they've had a fluffy schedule and we've been playing the elite.

We went to OT against one of the best teams in the league on the road with Chris Paul shooting like booty juice. That shows what the Clippers as a whole are capable of. Just think; If just 2 of Paul's shots has fallen, we'd win. Just gotta tip our hats off to OKC for playing a great game and playing mad D on Paul. And just think; this game is going to fire up Paul beyond epic perportions. The Brooklyn Nets are in for a world beating, mark my words. I'm not counting on Paul dropping 40 with his normal assist numbers but I won't be surprised h If he does.

Anyway... Chris Paul played horrible... (shot) and Caron Butler did not play. He would have made the WIDE OPEN shots Matt barnes missed. This game proved nothing but the fact that we are way better than alot of teams in the NBA even the best ones.

People, you got to stop saying that we'll beat them more than 20 at home or anything. Home court is great in motivating team to play better but it doesn't mean we'll always get home court call or shot keep falling something like that. We just need to be humble and not to look for excuse. Tonight what I saw is what I like, a real warrior who fought hard despite having an off night and we took them to the limit. However, OKC exposed us some glare in your game that we need to work on both side of the court.

My stupid DVR didn't record anything after the last 3 min BUT

Initially they were playing "anyone but Paul" The problem is we had no three point shooters to make them pay. We were playing with our third string SF Barnes(yeah right he should start) and we're starting a third string SG. What's the problem? We played the "alleged" best team at home

It shows a weakness in long range shooters. They defied us to play inside out and we couldn't. Not to worry If we had Billups or Butler they would have been a turd on our shoe. Coach did the best he could.

LO is getting better. Then he can hit his d*ck with a shot we'll be fine. We are the weakest we'll be this season I hope.

We own the MF's. We own the Western Conference

Exactly, I see this as a total moral victory. Taking OKC to overtime in Oklahoma while Chris Paul has a terrible shooting night, Caron Butler is injured and we don't even have Hill and Billups back yet... This loss doesnt bother me one bit. We are scary good and I dont doubt for a second we will bounce back with a nice little streak. Even in a loss I think we showed the league that we r legit.

cant play any stifling d when durant got to the line more than our entire team for the first 3 quarters. the facts speak for themselves. we cant play d when the refs call ticky tack fouls for trying to play tenacious d so idk if its so much of a glare like you suggest.

There is no such thing as a moral victory. You win or you lose period. Bottom line is that with Grant Hili, Butler or Billups they'd be a fart instead of thunder.

I can't see anyway to reasonably improve this team. Greene scored 8 pts. Not bad for a bench warmer. One thing Hubie said that was interesting is that there will be a battle over minutes. Hill has never had a ring. He'll defer when needed as will anyone else. The hope of a ring seems to tone down egos.

HOLLINS STOP FOULING

"The Clippers just won't go away" Hubie Brown

Question #2 is Bledsoe. I want to keep him at all costs. If Barnes starts and Caron is gone and Hill is gone maybe we could match any offer But will we find 30+ minutes for him?

Tough loss, especially after trailing all night and then having a chance to win. That final procession in regulation- I understood why no timeout, ultimately I would have liked a timeout to be called to get Jamal Crawford in there. That would have put the Thunder under way more pressure. Obviously there was no plan to pass the ball to DJ, and the Thunder knew that and were not even guarding him on that play. Sometimes, you have to go with your instincts, and DJ in that case maybe should have cut into the lane and see if a pass would have come- everyone was just standing around and watching, and knowing that CP3 was going to take that shot. I would definitely liked to see a more team-oriented play there.

CP3 battled but obviously had one of his poorer games of the season. Despite his savvy, defensively he just doesn't have the length to guard a guy like Westbrook, and on offense the length of guys like Sefolosha and constant trapping by the Thunder on him pretty much shut him down. The next time the Clippers play the Thunder, there definitely needs to be a better plan against those two problem areas.

Barnes had a nice game. He did a credible job on Durant, though he and CP3 got burned quite a few times on pick-n-rolls in the first quarter. Without Caron the rotations definitely got a bit messed up, and you had new combinations out there we haven't seen all season long.

Blake played well for the most part, and DJ was pretty solid. Bledsoe was terrific, and Jamal helped carried the offense as usual for the second. It was nice to see Odom play well, despite bricking jumpers once again.

Hopefully Caron returns Friday vs the Nets so we get the rotations all back to normal again. The Nets are a good team and let's see if the guys can bounce back and get a big win.

I honestly believe on the last play Paul was suppose to shoot it sooner because Griffin had the bigs pinned and DJ was coming to meet for the putback but the clock hit zero before it hit the rim

There were a couple of things that I didnt see from our players in this loss. For one Deandre went virtually unused for ally-oops. Typically Blake, Lmar or one of the guys up front will find him for the lob. Problem with DJ is that he has yet to learn to be able to create his own shot and when opposing teams take him out of the lineup it affects our game.

WHat do you mean? Creating his shot is his specialty in the post give it to him, clear up and let him do his jump hook, THAT is creating his own shot!

It was more of the off ball movement which DJ is usually strong at that wasn't as good in the last game. The lobs should be the aggressive easy plays we look to get
