This is no good. I understand that a lot of teams are giving it their all to play against us, now that we are the looked upon team in the western, but this lackluster effort we have seen the passed three games has got to end. After that loss to OKC i feel all of the hustle, and fast pace that they were playing so well with just bled out. Even with these teams stepping up to us, we have to prove that we didnt just get lucky with a stretch of home games. We definitely have the talent, so hopefully this serves as a nice wake up call and gets us back on track.

Go clips!

Who was the guy again that we could've acquired in the Howard trade to NJ? I think that failed trade is starting to hurt us. Willie Green has no business starting.

Marshon Brooks?

He's been no better than Willie, really. Willie's not the problem.

We just have to take those aggressive doubles, blocks and steals on the road.

Green is 5-9 and 3-5 from 3pt in the last two games.

Yup. If anybody could make a layup, it might help.

We're getting the shots, just not making them. A little more focus around the rim will help our defensive intensity... and vice versa.

Yeah, it's not the players' fault when they'd rather foul than play good 'D'. Not their fault when they miss open jumpers and layups.

The second unit really let the team down in the second quarter. The Clippers had a lead, and it evaporated and turned into a double digit deficit before the starters had to come back, and the horrific D by the starters allowed the game to slip away in the 3rd.

I thought with the team not showing enough intensity it was a good move to have that line up of CP3, Bledsoe, Crawford, Barnes, Odom/Turiaf/Holllins out there. It was very impressive for them to cut the lead to 10. But it came too late- I was hoping for a combo like that earlier in the 3rd when we were just struggling so much. A lot of the Clipper offense is fueled from defense off of turnovers, and the guys on the floor just weren't doing that.

Defensively, for the first three quarters, the guys were atrocious. On offense there were a ton of missed shots obviously, and you're going to have those days, but the defensive smarts were lacking. In particular, Jeff Teague and Lou Williams just blew by the Clipper guards time and time again for easy floaters or set up open teammates. And DeAndre Jordan getting so thoroughly outplayed and outworked by Pauchulia is absolutely unacceptable. The team in general just has to quit going for the pump fakes and letting guys blow by them. Either the players didn't read the scouting reports or the coaching staff did a poor job preparing the guys.

Time to regroup on Monday with some home cooking- but mainly you want to see the guys put out the effort defensively after such an just an embarrassing display tonight.

Just finished watching the game. I think the biggest issue is the rotation.

VDN needs to shorten the rotation for road games. Our bench is excellent at home and he can put all 5 reserves at the same time but not on the road against good teams.

3 starters should be on the floor at all times. Having a lineup of Odom, Ronny, Barnes, Bledsoe and Crawford is no good because teams are starting to double Crawford and the rest of this lineup cannot capitalize and score.

Team will bounce back and be alright but VDN better come up with better combination on the court.

at the 5 minute mark in the 4th quarter, we were down by 14 with 4 time outs left. Why the hell wasn't vinny using his time outs?

Duh!

Everyone on their team had a plus. That's what happens in a blowout.

22/11/7 on 9/17 are great numbers for your PF.

Ignore this Griffin-phobic troll.

vdn needs to start giving odom more of hollins' minutes. unless hollins can consistently play d without fouling, id give some of his minutes to odom. his play making ability can help the bench. im also worried about butler. his shot is off right now. and yes, i dont think its vdn's fault as much as it is the players. they got to make their shots. if not, at least get to the line.

^ I want to agree with you bullterrier, but it's hard to see what Odom's bringing in at this point.

Whenever he bricks a shot, it seems to give the other team momentum... he's definitely grabbing some boards, but his shot selection (and execution) kind of nullifies what he does to win possessions.

That said, I agree with giving him minutes just to get him up to speed, but the fans (me included) are going to start getting pissed if he continues to underperform.

Dude, I totally get it. The guy has talent beyond measure for his position, but he's just so slow lately that defenders see the play he wants to make before he does.

It just seems to me that his minutes lately have been donated rather than earned. I can't knock Vinny for doing it because we'll definitely need Lamar later on, but it's pretty painful to watch him on the floor when Turiaf is providing similar production.

Of course his minutes are donated. I think Vinny's plan is to play Lamar into shape. To be honest I like that move on Vinny's part, and in my opinion since Lamar can play all five positions we should be having him play 30 total minutes out there at all the positions he can play. Clealrly he cant play 30 minutes at the PF or SF position because that would take minutes away from players who actually want to play, but having him be the backup in there at the 3,4,5 in one game would give him at least 30 minutes and get him to shed that weight. Also, Vinny should go with up tempo plays to speed up the pace and get him to burn more calories. We need to speed up the process. But to piggy back off Bullterrier's comments. Yes, Lamar in the front court provide some passing ability that Blake, Jordan, Turiaf, or Hollins cant quite prodce. When healthy and motivated Lamar almost has a point guards passing ability and decision making skills. There are passes he made to Deandre in one preseason game those were beautiful and showcased how valuable he can be.
