Good game, tonight. They could've played better, but I'll take the win. Now we just need Grant Hill back.

Blake's 3rd and 4th fouls were a direct result of 2 offensive fouls by Love that went ignored by refs. Who does Blake have to blow to get that kind of officiating?

Caron, Chauncey, Bled and Crawford shot a combined 5-29!!! That's 17.2%. How did we win this again? Hope we don't see numbers that low for the rest of the season...

That why Love has become one of the players in the league I dislike most. He's constantly shoving guys around and basically gets rewarded for it by the refs. Meanwhile, Blake gets butchered and gets nothing. I don't get it.

Yeah, he's starting to get under my skin, too. He's like some punk-ass kid wandering around school doing whatever he wants because has 3 bodyguards.

Vinny did nothing but tell the players to "RUN DA PLAY" over and over again all night.

But when we lose, it's 100% Vinny's fault. Therefore logic dictates that the wolves loss is all on Rick.

Not so much fun being a hater when we win, is it?

^^^On the other hand, the Thunder, Nets and Hawks are some of the hottest teams in the league, which makes our losses to them somewhat less disturbing.

Just a much better effort and execution by everyone tonight, the players and the coaches. Great to see Chauncey back- his 3 point shot was a little off but he was like his usual self drawing fouls. Didn't force anything either- so a nice debut game for him. Teams are going to be concerned about Chauncey posting up smaller guards as well- we saw that late in the 4th when the Wolves came w/ the double as Chauncey as posting up, which lead to an open shot for the Clippers.

Blake Griffin- really good effort despite missing most of his outside jumpers. He was more aggressive around the basket and the intensity was excellent. Same goes for his pal DeAndre Jordan. He made some mistakes but overcame them and played especially well there in the 4th quarter with excellent focus and determination. That's what we want to see from him every game. That huge rebound DJgot and then not rushing and making a nice, controlled bounce pass to Blake for the dunk- that was the play of the night. Nice though to see him crack a smile there at the end after the alley-oop from Billups. CP3 was back to his old self making all the right plays and did much better staying in front of his man overall. Biggest difference maker in the game probably was Matt Barnes with his energy, cutting for layups and helping with the rebounding. He really needs to cut down on the techs- but at least no flagrant tonight....

It was an impressive win because the team got crushed on the boards which was a bit disconcerting, and 3 key guys shot really poorly- Butler, Crawford, and Bledsoe combined for just 4 of 24. The Clipper defense and offensive execution won the game for them. VDN did a solid job down the stretch too with some offense/defense substitutions as well. Nice to see him draw a lob play for Blake to start off the game as well.

Some interesting notes- looks like Willie Green is the odd man out now that Chauncey is back. Another difference was that Turiaf got the early call over Hollins, though Ryan did come in and played well when Ronnie got in foul trouble late in the 3rd.

the clips played well enough to overcome the bs reffing we seem to be getting on a night to night basis. but whatever, the clips should get used to it. but i was impressed with the effort from the bench. barnes, odom, ebled, crawford and turiaf played good. dj and bg came up big, even when the refs allowed pekovic and love to shove and grab their way to rebounds. cp3 ran the show as he is supposed to. and billups, while not having his shot, put some of his high basketball IQ and veteran savvy to great use. a must win that we came up with

OUe Defense did suck early on. Their shots fell and our's didn't.

Why did VDN let the Wolve's bigs torch us on the boards? Why wasn't Hollins in there Roni is too short. VDN should penalizr Barnes (or anybody else) $10K for each Technical over "X" number. Technicals lose games. Remember the 5 point Technical?

Did you evey think you'd see DJ drawing a double team? He arguably won the game. Didn't hit 3/4 FT's? How about that Bill Russell #6 get that **** outta here block. It wasn't a block it was a statement. We need to get back to Lob City. It's great weapon and it gets the crowd in it.

We're going to have to find something for BG to do. In the post there are three guys riding him like Roy Rogers rode Trigger. (Who knows who Roy was?)

Where was Butler? Willie's not a scrub He did OK as a starter. Willie may be a better defender than Chauncey or Jamal and he played well. Odom isn't a scrub. He improves every game. He's probably as good or better a ball handler than Bledsoe. He obviously doesn't have his shot back but he's slimmer and has better legs every game. Except Trey we have no scrubs.

GUYS WHEN THEY ANNOUNCE OUR STARTERS STAND UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give everybody a big round of applause

As far as Bledsoe, somebody made a good point about Iverson. AI's not nearly as strong as Bledsoe and didn't defend as well. He may be the SG of the future.

Y'all know me...sorta. lol...I NEVER complain about the officiating. But WTF? The refs were really terrible tonight. I mean, I'm not asking for "home cooking" but I expect a somewhat fair whistle on OUR EFFING COURT!!!

Anyway...a good, hard fought game. I loved having Chauncey back. He's just a great leader to have out there on the court. Besides the early three pointer and the FT's, it was little things like when CP3 threw that nice pass to BG on the break, you notice it was Chauncey pointing initially to BG for Paul to pass it.

The good news is we beat a team that seems to have our number usually. So good win, I say.

But on a positive note, tonight we didn't need 45 attempts to make 23.

None of our 4 guards missed one. 20/20.

And Blake and DJ are looking better lately... at least when the refs actually send them to the line.

I don't believe poor FT shooting will be an issue in April, like it was last year.

Yeah, but Capone died at 48 years old, ravaged by syphilis and having lost his mind. Sounds more like a laker type of guy to me. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_16

If the Clips were cowboys, they'd be the ones wearing white hats. The good guys always win in the end... you just have to sit through all the anguish and suffering first.

Man Vinny debate are really annoying. Geez, can that guy ever get the break? Just be patient. I don't think bringing a Phil, or a Sloan, would instantly make us a championship right away. We'll just have to go through growing pain in learning new plays, knowing new coach, etc. It' just not happening. All these "knowing their system" would make this year a waste. If we do need to move on the coach, it would have done it in the offseason. Not now unless we go on a 10 game losing streak. But I have yet seeing this losing streak past 5 games or being below 500. Let's just play this out because Clippers did give him a chance to prove himself.

Im relieved by this win. Im glad the guys broke that losing streak. However during the first half of the game I didnt see the clippers fix what has been killing them...defending against the three. One suggestion I would hope vinny makes is to have butler and billups focus on shooting threes. If we cant defend the three then at least make some of your own to keep pace

I dont remember seeing him play but I may be mistaken since I would change the channel when the Wolves wouldnt miss. Jamal got all of Willies numbers and I noticed Bledsoe did not play as much either so it is going to be interesting how Del Negro manages everyones mins.

Ideally he spreads em evenly with Chauncey Jamal and Bledsoe and just give Willie Green some PT when either of those 3 guys is off. Towards the end of the game I also saw a Chris Paul, Chauncey, Jamal, Matt Barnes and Blake lineup. This would be a cool lineup when we have to play teams that really have no size and its a great lineup to run and gun with. Oh and man did I miss Chaunceys fast break pull up 3s!!!! (even if he did not make any last night)

Our guys need to have a little more confidence in shooting. Aside from Chauncey it seemed like the others kept deferring when they had the ball beyond the arc...to much passing the ball away. Its like no one want to have the scorn of the crowd if they miss, so they dont even try

Matt Barnes said post game "we need to play with a chip on our shoulder" "we got too confident because of how we started" (something to that extent)... so who knows. I hope we fix it with Chauncey back though

^ "Play with a chip on our shoulder" is a phrase I've heard Vinny use many times.

Matty regurgitated it twice last night... at half time, and post-game.

Seems to me like if the players didn't respect the coach, they wouldn't be quoting him.

Of course, that's only my opinion (albeit a logical conclusion) and I'm sure I'll get flamed by the anti-logic lobby on here. Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_02

You're right. He was probably quoting the time when Phil Jackson said it 10 years ago as a subtle hint that he actually wants Jackass to coach.

That makes much more sense. wink
