Every Clipper Home Game, you see Laker fans who wear Jerseys TO Clipper games. What??? I'm talking about when Clippers play Minnesota or when Clips play New Orleans... there's always some guys who let you know that they are Laker fans but they will "Bless you with their presence" or they just HAPPENED to be wearing their Kobe jersey that day.

RIGHT.

How Obnoxious and Insecure are these guys?

Do they troll Clipper fans? Like if the Clipper opponents are winning, do they celebrate while the rest of the crowd is pissed off?

Insecure? No, they're trying to make a statement. You dont go to a teams home game with their biggest rivals jersey unless you're trying to taunt the fan base. Im also a big Bruin fan, and I know that it would be a big F you to Trojan fans if i went to one of their games rocking a Bruin jersery..very disrespectful thing to do and clearly intended to incite the crowd

no its not a statement, they just go to the games cuz thats all they can afford. the clips tickets are more than half the price less than what the flakers charge to watch their crappy team. thats the main reason.

I think it is half statement, half,,,"I only own one pro sports thing so I am wearing it". I wonder why people do wear their Angels jerseys (red?) or their Dodger hats or Yankees gear or Chargers gear or whatever to games,,I figure they only have enough money to buy one thing so they wear it to show the are sports fans.

When I go to a game with my friends,,instead of my wife,,we play the "Spot the idiot in the Kobe jersey " game. Whomever spots the idiot first gets free beer the rest of the night.

Kinda funny how there's another thread praising the kid in the LAC jersey behind the lakers bench against Indy!

But I think Ron is right. Probably the only jersey they own... and they only bought it because there's a bigger chance that someone will comment on it when they wear it anywhere. Basketball isn't very big in England and when my teenaged niece visited me, she wanted to buy a kobe jersey to take home because he's the only player she's heard of. I told her, "That's fine... buy what you like, but it had better be on your way to the airport because that garbage isn't coming in my house!".

What makes me laugh even more is when they troll the primeticket post-game show... shouting "Clippers suck" after we win, while they're sitting below .500.

Morons.

Laker fans like these need a beating. Not on the level of what Bryan Stow suffered, but they need a few black eyes.

Difference is, I am pretty sure the dude Prok was referring to was sitting court side (cause I saw him too)... Now I know it is wrong to assume, but a courtside seated fan should have enough mula to wear something else (even if it's not Clippers related)...

Anyways I am assuming and I can be wrong in 10000 different ways, but I am not going for the "its the only piece of sports wear I own" excuse (although it can very well end up being the case).

The funny thing is that Dwight played awful against his old team. Also, the two guys involved in the Dwight trade(Afflalo and Vucevic) tore the Lakers apart. Man that was fun to see haha

Lakers under .500 going into the first 1/4 of the season? Before a road trip? I knew this Lakers team wasn't built with working pieces but this is crazy. Now they get another bad coach that knows nothing but a fast paced offense? With the wrong personnel? You can't make this stuff up. The Warriors are more of a threat than the Lakers and I think it will stay that way barring another injury from Curry.

Nash isn't going to be the savior so spare me the argument. Mitch, you waved your wand, which was the most expensive one, and you have nothing to show for it. Well, except for a banished coach and a injured senior citizen who's bones are now brittle. Enjoy Dwight's late game heroics!

Hack-a-Howard works on so many levels, the best part is that it keeps the ball out of Kobe's hands in the 4th quarter.

Nothing more than a glorified and even more overrated 2003 Lakers team but with even less teeth. Funny how 3x DPOY Howard, 1st all defensive team Kobe, former DPOY World Peace played defense. Kobe has had difficulty guarding garbage cans as of late and yet he still gets gifted all defensive teams. He hasn't been a decent defender in the past three-five seasons.

Sorry Kobe but you can put up all the empty stats you want and chuck away but your team is not going anywhere.

Both Kobe and Dwight was so classless after they loss. They're such a sore loser. They didn't even congrats the other team for a well fought victory. Their ego is so big that they think they could just turn it on once Steve Nash come back. Well, alert time, Steve Nash is not savior for DEFENSE. That's their problems and I hope this trend continue until the end of the season. Let's go Clips.

Since this seemed to turn into a Lakers thread I will comment.

In short, The Lakers suck. I said it when they did not win a game in the pre-season and Lakers fans and media were like "it is only the preee season!" ...then the first couple weeks passed and then they were like "it is early in the season, we will get it together!" The Fans, the media and even Kobe saying he stood by Mike Brown implying nothing was wrong and Bam a week later Mike Brown is gone. Problem solved right? NOPE. What happens like normally does with the Lakers is they beat sorry teams at home and fans all of a sudden think everything is fine when their problems are all the same no matter the coach. "They will get it together" "They need to get used to D Antonis offense" "they need to play together longer so they can be in sync" ...the most recent excuse that seems to be the popular one is "Do not judge this team until Steve Nash comes back!" Excuse after excuse after excuse. It seems Laker fans go with the "it is only the regular season" as a way to have a year long excuse as to why their team is mediocre. Thats great though cause the bigger the heartbreak for them in searching for answers when the Lakers get eliminated in the 1st round.

Laker fans are MAD. Haha and its great.

Oh another thing. The Lakers have had a really soft schedule. They have yet to play any of the top teams in the NBA and the closest would probably be The Nets and that was at home. They are losing to sorry teams at home and are like 1-6 on the road. They are going on a big road trip and I think this will finally make everyone open their eyes on how average they actually are. They have no impressive victories and most of them have been against sorry teams. And if they win, they just lose the next game. I see them winning 1 maaaaybe 2 games on their upcoming road trip. Then the drama will begin again and we will sit back and laugh. The first scapegoat was Mike Brown, now it is Pau Gasol, after Pau is traded I say its either Ron Artest or D Antoni.

^actually the flakers are 1-4 on the road and 7-5 at home. they have had the most home games in the entire league, and yet they are 8-9. lmao. out of their next 8 games, 7 are on the road. i doubt they win more than 2 games on the road.

It's not classless. Most games players don't shake hands with other players. The only time it is seen as disrespectful is the closeout game of a playoff series. Otherwise, not shaking someones hand and walking straight to the locker room after a regular season game is not classless.

That being said, Dwight is usually one of the friendliest guys in the league to other players, so what it does show is a sign of frustration.

Actually it IS classless not congratulate the other team after they win, at least the stars are supposed to congratulate each other, wouldn't be too much for D12 to congratulate his old teammate Big Baby would it?

Not classless at all. I have no problem with guys walking off the court. If you watch the Clipper games, most of them walk off the court right after the game and don't shake hands. Would it be to much? Probably not, but he is not obligated to. Especially after a game where he missed so many FT's and was frustrated.

Like I said there is no obligation to shakes a players hand except after a playoff series. I think a couple years ago Lebron got a bunch of heat for not shaking hands after a playoff series against the Celtics I believe

In a one game, regular season there is no obligation at all and it is not classless. It is part of the game and most players do not do it.

maybe it goes to show that their defensive skills are overrated. yeah, howard blocks shots, but that defensive player of the year award and the all nba defensive team is all based on stats. there have been much more deserving players who actually play d such as tony allen, who get passed on being put on the all nba defensive first team just because kobe is given the benefit of the doubt of how "good" of a defender he is. last i checked tony allen has not allowed 60 pts to gilbert arenas or 57 to michael redd. and before anyone says "thats not all on kobe" yes it is almost all on kobe since he decided to guard them to shut them down. and he failed miserably. just like he fails to guard anyone at this juncture of his career. artest is still a solid defender, but not the defender he used to be. howard still blocks shots, but he also commits a bunch of stupid fouls. cant wait when nash comes back and gets constantly torched on d.

In MY eyes it is just a little tiny drop of classless, by not congratulating them, you are telling them you're just way WAY better than them and it wasn't that they won, but that you lost! > IMO

Not me. DJ has more post moves than Howard and that isn't saying much.

When we were having heated debates over Howard coming here this npast summer, I said Howard was a product partly made by the system and great shooters. Now that he doesn't have the same kind of shooters, he looks awkward out there without all the lobs and PnR he was getting in Orlando.

I never wanted that guy here. Glad he's with them, that's their problem now.

I'd keep DJ over DH... DJ still at young age, rarely health stricken, and still capable of more than where he is at now. plus, he's been making his free throws. haha.

Interesting fact. Bryant tried to sell Howard on being his "Tyson Chandler" and he is playing like a glorified Tyson Chandler right now but I would say Tyson Chandler is actually playing better. lol

Per 36 minutes

TC: 14.8/10.9 on 71% shooting and he can hit FTs at 78.5%. PER: 22.9

vs

Howard: 18.6/11.2 on 60% hitting FTs at 46.5%. PER: 21.4

Howard is just lucky he plays in an era with weak Centers. All I can say is have fun playing in the Kobe system wannabe Shaq.

Howard is losing the Lakers games down the stretch with crap FT shooting. Shaq never had this problem because he was 10x the scorer Dwight was.

DH never had a pg like cp3, Dj does and has gotten better ever since cp3 came here. DH is just playing bad because of the kobe effect.

But but...Isn't he the self-proclaimed Superman? Where's his defense at? Or does he need a PG for that too? Look at Chandler ( see CP3Heliflopter's post), he's doing great with Fat Rat Felton.

DH is playing bad cause he doesn't have the players that spread the floor for him. I know Hero ball is effecting his touches but the guy isn't efficient when he does have the ball.

i dont think he is still 100% percent yet. we cant expect same numbers. his percentages might be bad because he is 2nd primary weapon in an offence with little fire power. he will shoot a lot this year. his pts and rebs look good to me.

I am not going to go as far as Dwight is better than DJ but right now Dwight is far from the clear cut best C in the league.

I would take an old Tim Duncan handily over him who is putting up 19/10 in only 31 minutes.

Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol, Bosh, Brook Lopez also have a case.

Of course you can argue Dwight is a better defender than them but all of these players can hit FTs unlike Dwight.

The Lakers have loss three out of their four games due to Dwight's garbage free throw shooting....

DJ needs to improve his FT shooting, rebound more, and be more consistent defensively before I can put him in the argument.

DH is clearly better than DJ even with his Dwight's regression but DH is a max player and DJ is not.

Nearly 20m vs 10m. Not really fair imo. Even CP3 does not earn that much.

That becomes more and more arguable by the game, to be honest.

Dwight has been thoroughly exposed as an overrated athleticism-dependent center with no real skill. He doesn't work on his game one iota and barely cares about basketball. All he can do is dunk and block shots. He padded stats in a weak Eastern Conference and had to be carried by Hedo effing Turkoglu in the playoffs. LeBron deserved the DPOY's Dwight won.

For as much **** as I've given DJ over the years, he's actually worked on his game. He has more post moves than Dwight. He has the potential to be a yearly DPOY. He's surprisingly clutch. Even when he's not scoring, he's still contributing.

Dwight's probably still the better player now, but the gap between him and DJ is shrinking more and more, and as long as DJ keeps improving, he'll eventually be way better than Dwight's ever been.

Come on people are being a bit too homerish here its a bit ridiculous.

DJ is also a poor FT shooter like Dwight and Dwight is the better defender, gets more boards, and scores on higher volume.

Like I said DJ still has work to do and I can't believe that someone said that DJ will be way better than Dwight has ever been -.-?

Please stop making me defend Dwight. I hate the guy but give the 3x DPOY and first nba player his due.

I am out of this topic lol....

The difference between Dwight and DJ in terms of free throw shooting is that Dwight has either gotten worse or stagnated every year since entering the league and DJ has gotten better at it.
