I am going to actually start off with the bad so that I can end this post on a good note.
The rotations. I know that some think the rotations are okay as long as we are winning, but I don't. It's just my opinion so who cares, but this is what I am seeing.
The 3 guard lineup. I woud actually love to see a lineup of paul, bled(show), and crawford with any combination of our bigs...especially odom. I guess what I am saying is now is the time for the coach to experiment a little. When you have blowout Ws, that's the time to experiment and we have too much depth to wait to long into the season to not do this.
If CP3 is not aggressive or effective early on, he should sit, and even if only for a minute or two, but there is no reason having player playing a whole quarter when we rely on energy, and the coach usually doesn't use all the timeouts.
Timeouts are like free money...you use them. We have a high energy team so the coach should use every thing at his disposal to make sure they have a chance to win.
The post game. We should definetly be better in the post with the skillset that our bigs have. Basically at certain times LO should be stealing Green's minutes. Waiting to see some more Blake DJ 2man game on the wing...something good has to come out of that right?
Identity of this team has to be Defense. We can score but we are not the best at getting stops because it seems the focus is on highlight plays. We are good defensively at times because of personnel. Same goes for the offense. This team IMO has yet to commit to one. D has to be our calling card or we will not get any respect from the refs come PO time...IE last year against the spurs:18 minutes without one foul called against them after we jump out all over them offensively in the first quarter...I know some remember.
Vinny seems to have been able to garner some respect from the team as it seems they are on a mission now to come out with energy...easy to do at home, so let's see if it carries over to the road.
LO seems to actually be committed to contributing to this team this year, which in my mind is saying alot...just my opinion.
BG and Cp seem to be healing from their early season injuries.
The team as a whole seems to be acclimating to this new tempo. Turnovers are starting to trend down, and players are learning each other. We have to remember this team has half a roster turn over, so when we factor in the change of pace also this is a big deal.
The team appears to be getting a little more respect on the road. Because we are maybe the biggest ticket right now in the NBA as far highlight appeal, the NBA is force to gives us some respect. The trend I have been seeing is that the enemy seems to get the calls in the 1st half, and the Clippers get them in the end...this is huge, because our players have to make sure they don't get frustrated early on because the momentum will swing back as long as they are patient.
