Beautiful read! Especially the Odom part. For those that want to change the identity of this team, read the last few paragraphs to understand we're some of us are coming from. Seriously, this article really touched me.

Side note:

Looks like Lakers fans are going after Markazi for tweeting Clippers related stuff during our games. lol

Markazi's repsonse to Lakers haters:

Arash Markazi ‏@ArashMarkazi

Lakers fans, I'll be tweeting about the Lakers during Lakers games and the Clippers during Clippers games.

If the last few paragraphs are your argument for not changing the identity, you dont know what it is about.

CP3 is talking about "perception" and yes this is changing in between the sports business people and the players which is no wonder if a team with a 12 Games winning streak comes to play against you. But this doesnt make the history go away for the (casual) Fan and also not the reporters, and thats what really thrives an emerging company.

You should have listened to the commentators of the last recent games of the Kings. If it would be so nice like you are trying to draw it in that context, they would not have talked 1/2 the game about how bad this Franchise history was (as it is). For every of your tries, there is a negative recent example (which you wont mention) and thus its not about listing 100s of them against each other up but about understanding it.

You think changing the name and unis miraculously changes our past? You think people will forget the history just cause the name changed? LOL

And you're telling me I should take courses?

Yeah, we change the name everyone will laugh just like they're laughing at the the Hornets. LOL

You mean the Kings who wanted to come here but couldn't? You mean the Kings who have been one of the worst teams the last decade? Those commentators from that bad team? Maybe you should worry more about who you are taking your arguments from instead trying to change something you have no control of.

Bingo....we have the winner. Simply, this IS the POINT.....game, set and match. Real and meaningful change will come with consistent winning, period...and that "NEW" product will sell big.

Look at the Mavericks pre Dirk/nash/Cuban. They were almost as much of a laughingstock as we were. Now, they are considered one of the top franchises and people don't ever talk about the past. We keep Blake and Paul here till they retire, and the Clippers continue to dominate the next 10-12 years, even the Clippers won't be known as that poor franchise.
