I grew up as a Clippers fan in 1999 where things were pretty bleak and dark.

Growing up in LA, I also grew up hating Laker fans, as most were completely fake while completely disregarding loyalty towards any team. But recently, I

checked up Lakerstopbuzz, and the fans on that site were pretty darn

realistic about the current state of the Lakers. It actually surprised me quite

a bit, I expected this unrealistic aura consisting of unrealistic cockiness, but

it was actually quite realistic. Either way, my point is we shouldn't focus on

Laker fans, instead, we should focus on our own well being and fan base.

Screw what the Laker fans think. We just have to realize that many Laker

fans are pretty realistic and knowledgable, while many are complete

garbage. So let's just make Lake fans irrelevant, and focus on us!

As a regular LTB poster and Laker fan, thanks for the compliment. Yeah, most of us at LTB are "intelligent" Laker fans who take into account the obvious flaws of our team.

Last night, we saw that Kobe-- ugh-- had an insane 41 shot attempts, only making 16 in return. Sh** like that makes me pissed as hell. As much I love Kobe, his selfishness is too much to bear. That's why I'm not a "Kobe" fan; I'm a "Laker" fan. I don't worship Kobe like he's God on a daily basis like the rest of the ignorant ones.

Every team is going to have ignorant fans as well as well informed fans. Especially good teams. Look at the opinions of some of the posters on this site even. Since we've gotten good there have been plenty of ridiculous characters crawling out of the woodwork

I would say the real Laker fans are more emotional then our fans. Maybe we are unconsciously used to adversity (especially we long time fans) so we take failure with a grain of salt and take success with great joy. They are so used to always winning, always being on top and always getting to look down at us and it has dramatically shifted this year (so far) and they just are going crazy not being able to grasp that money doesn't always buy a championship, even their NBA players can fail , and the Clippers can actually be good. Too much to handle.

I am a member of a dodgers board and I am the ONLY Clipper fan there. You would think the Mayans were right on a daily basis with the comments the Laker fans make over there. Today they will be celebrating, next loss they will all be jumping off of tall buildings without a net.

I have been on there regularly, and if there's one thing that I have noticed is a shift in dynamics on that site. When I first logged on to LTB I noticed that there were a lot of hotheads with really unrealistic outlooks. Now it seems the true fans are what remain over there in Lakers Land. There are many level headed fans, and it seems like a lot of the bad ones left as soon as the gravy train ended.

I have respect for the ones that are still there despite their current woes, and lakers fans may not think so but this current state of theirs is actually good for them because it has purged the site and fan base of those unloyal fans that were only there until the winning stopped.

My time surfing that site has really let me look at the fan base in a new light. There are a lot of good fans over there, and while I still view the Lakers as a rival that I want to take the city from and beat I dont disdain their fan base as I once did. Rather, I've come to really admire the ones that are still loyal because you know they are there for the right reason

I agree to a certain point with this I talked to a couple laker fans and most of them are seem pretty realistic of the state of they're basketball team and where their headed and some which actually gave our clipper ball squad some credit. I believe this whole "laker slump"is a reality check for them and can relate to us. But those other bandwagon fans truly get on my nerves and it's the fact that the lakers always have an expectancy to win and that they don't know how to lose/or take a lose. All in all I dispise bandwagon fans overall they ruin sports by trolling actually fans who know the game and give bad names to the die hard fans who support that team I swear out of 100 we're the rare 30% of a true fan base

Two of my closest friends are very level-headed Lakers fans who just like talking basketball. They respect what the Clippers are doing.

But on the other hand... I recently read tweets by Andre Iguodala and Brandon Jennings commenting about Kobe's 16-41. Didn't say anything negative about it, just saying that he took 41 shots. Then you look at some of the people's responses and it's "5 rings... he sh*ts on you bum... that's why you got traded..." etc... Then I click to see who these people are that have the nerve to say things like that and it's unsurprising to me when they have Kobe in their avatar or consider themselves "Lakers fans."

Those are the types that get under my skin.

The thing about Laker fans is that aaaaanyytime they do anything positive or negative we always come up. Whenever we lose or win, right away the mention us. It seems like they feel we are such a threat that they alwaays have us on their mind.

There are a couple different types of Laker fans. The most annoying that are often the ones I clash with that I have to put in their place are the ones who always resort to the "Well how many titles do you have!!!" "Well win a title first!" Blah blah... when I never say we are winning a title, that we are winning this or that, I know our history, I simply state that we are the better team this year, WHICH IS FACT. These are the ones that annoy me. It seems like they live in a magical world where they are away from reality and in denial. They refuse to give us ANY credit and try to do everything and anything (most of them are bandwagoners who know nothing about basketball) to minimize what we are doing this year always referencing the past. The ones who come up for excuse after excuse as to why the Lakers are still under .500 going into the new year almost. First they had to learn the new offense, then it was Mike Brown, then it was Pau Gasol, then it was "early" so the losses didnt matter, now that they havent stopped the consensus excuse seems to be that they are not healthy treating Steve Nash like he is Michael Jordan coming back to start a 10 title in a row Dynasty or something. The worst thing is that Steve Nash came back last night against the Warriors (The Warriors played horrible and the lakers had to go into OT with them) and they won so everyone thinks what they said was true. It is not true. It was 1 game. Now that they have Nash and everyone back and they keep losing to good teams (they will probably beat the sorry teams) they will say "give us time" ... these are the type of delusion Laker fans that irk me. The ones that troll Clipper fans just because they are really really angry that they are currently out of the playoff picture and we are arguably the best team in NBA. They are seething at that thought and since it has never happened they do not know how to react than with anger. NOTICE.

The second type of Lakers fans are the ones who are easier to get along with. Those that ADMIT that The Lakers suck this year. And admit we are the better team this year, which is a fact not an opinion. Meaning give us props and move on.

Most Laker fans are bandwagoners. A Majority know nothing about basketball but think that because they know Kobe and Shaq they know sports. SMH

I know a lot of old time Lakers fans who are not bandwagoners....but again those "type" of fans are a by product of consistent winning.

It might happen to us one day. wink

You know when we're talking about Lakers fans. We're not talking directly fans like you NardDog. I know you're one of those level-head Lakers fans, it's just that when you have majority of your fans being obnoxious, it just paint the picture of Laker fans really bad. Even the radio hosts in ESPN are idiotic homers in their sense to give in to those bandwagoners. We're just hate your fans just being so arrogance.

I agree that WAY too many people here are focused at pissing on the Lakers and talking about the Lakers than they are on our own team at times. Sure the teams will always be connected but we don't need to puff out or chests at them every time or talk about how crappy or good their franchise is/was etc. Like the players have said their sights are much bigger than just being better than the Lakers.

The Lakers fans that give the franchise a bad rep don't know how to type, let alone find the Lakers forum. Plenty of them out there, they're just not online except the comments sections of ESPN and LAT, where they can get away by typing poorly crafted one-liners instead of a well thought post.

i despise most flaker fans. with a passion. out of 100 at least 70 will talk s*** about the clips and are bandwagoners. i say 70 put of 100 cuz the ratio was much higher earlier in the season, but due to their struggles the number is dwindling. the majority of the remaining fans always try to point out that a) its early in the season, just like they put no significance to the 0-8 preseason record. b) the real season starts in april, to take away from what the clips are doing. c) and the always predictable crack, "16 rings to 0" when they have nothing else to back up their argument. thats the truth. im not saying they dont have knowledgeable fans, but even those fans border on entitled and arrogant. just saying.

I absolutely hate the 16 rings to 0 argument. It isn't even relevant. Its really pathetic when fans are discussing the present and Lakers fans throw that in there like it has any bearing on how good they are currently(not very).
