Yes I know... I'm one of the Vinny hating linchpins around this forum. I still think Green and Butler shouldn't be starting but as many have pointed out.. when you win 14 straight by 16 ppg it's unfair and nitpicky to complain about it.

I'm really starting to like Vinny more. Now that we are getting a lot more clips of him talking to players you can tell he truly cares about our guys and wants to be the "White Knight" sort for our organization who leads us to the promised land. I've also seen him yelling at refs way more and standing up for his guys.

Another thing that must be noted is he HAS improved quite a bit this year. Sure part of it may be dominant players making him look better but there is also a part of it where he seems to be preparing the team better and the hiring of Bobby O as a defensive coordinator has been HUGE.

Before I thought Vinny would hold us back from a title and it's still early but I think as long as the players keep buying in and bringing it every night, it can be done with him. Like Cleepers has pointed out before coaches like Doc Rivers were considered subpar until they got the right players for their system and the team exploded. Culture change takes a while and Vinny seems to be a huge catalyst for it changing for the better. Not to mention he was a huge part of building the team this offseason.

"I think it's just the coach having confidence in us," Barnes said. "A lot of teams, when you go to the bench, you're just trying to bide minutes for your starters. But if we're playing well, he'll leave us out there, and I think that gives us confidence to go out there and play our game."

You bring up another great point. If literally all of the players top to bottom are praising his coaching who am I and the others who bash him to rip him apart all the time? Even if I don't always like his decisions the players do and we are winning which carries more weight.

Soon we will have to worry about other teams snatching up Vinny in the off season.

Reminds me of Scott Brooks. No name, young coach like Vinny who helps turn a young upstart into a contender and all the sudden everybody wants him. It very well may happen.

I used to hate his rotations last year but now that our bench is God-like, it looks like he knows how to handle it. Like someone above said, I don't really get why we should be hating if the players aren't.

Well, I dunno if it is Vinny, or Chauncey, or CP3 or whomever but someone or someones has this deal figured out for now and I can't see why anyone that is a fan would want anything to change,,,,like 86 said you can be nitpicky but really what is the point when we seem to be firing on all cylinders (or maybe you just need hobby to take your mind off of all this winning if you are a hater).

Vinny is doing a fine job on rotations and managing minutes. I am not confident about how good he is when it comes to drawing up plays but with CP3 running the offense I don't really care.

Like VDN said the offense is CP3 and that is a pretty good answer considering how well we are doing offensively right now. lol

All the matters is that the players have confidence in him and that he is doing a good job on rotations and managing minutes. With CP3 and Billups on the team I am not worried about coaching.

We also have good assistant coaches and staff to help him set up his system so I am not too worried about that.

Nowadays there are only a select few elite coaches anyway.

Something to consider - What if VDN does so well with this team that he's in high demand at the end of the season from other teams? What if we already have the best coach available, and end up losing him because we didn't want to offer him an extension sooner?

I'll give him all of the credit in the world if he wins us a championship. right now, he has by far the deepest team in the league, so there shouldn't be any surprise that we've been able to win at the rate we have. Not to mention we've had the easiest schedule in the league through this month. There is absolutely no reason that we shouldn't have gotten on this streak given the quality of opponents we've been facing.

Vinny and the teams REAL test comes in January, when we seemingly do a complete 180 from having the easiest schedule to one of the hardest schedules. How he manages fatigue on the second nights of back to backs will be crucial, as we haven't played too well in the few that we've played so far this season.

I think it's crucial to always give credit when its due. I was not on board with the vinny hire or giving him the extension, but he has done well with the team. And as 86 mentioned you cant argue the results. although I am not a vinny fan I also belive that if you criticize his faults you should also acknowledge his feats. this is vinnys moment and he deserves the praise, congrats to vinny.

I bet he's loving his post-game press conferences right now. All those doubters eating crow. If he hasn't already locked up coach of the month for December, it'll be a travesty.

I think that VDN has earned his respect. He's proving that he can hang with the big boy coaches now. I love his dedication and devotion to our franchise and our guys. I think that Vinny is going to get a nice contract from us by the end of the season stretching out for three more years maybe even four. But I still think that the Clips may take a run at Phil Jackson during the off season.

I think the fact that we have a DEEP bench, it is easier for him to plan good rotations. The offensive sets are still meh but the defense has improved.

Eric Pincus likened Vinny to Doc Rivers. Now he's resting players like Gregg Popovich and embracing one's skills like Phil Jackson. If he wins a chip this year, I'm dubbing him the nickname of "V The Black."

chris mannix from sports illustrated ranked him below lionel hollins. smh. vdn should get consideration for coach of the year if this keeps up. people forget we still have hill and billups to play a role in the playoffs. so im confident in vinny getting us to the wcf and beyond

Vinny has been pretty damn good this year. Our offense is no longer as predictable as a CP3 pick and roll or Blake post up, and he's handled the players' minutes brilliantly. Our biggest improvement though is our defensive intensity, which VDN and Bobby O seem to never the let the guys forget about.

To me, he has proven to be in consideration for Coach of the Year, but like others have said... he needs to step up his game in the playoffs, just like the rest of the team. When other teams/coaches get a whole series to look at scouting reports and focus on our weaknesses, can VDN come up with good counters to it and lead us to victory? That's the next step.

Vinny has been doing a great job. His substitutions have been very good. This team knows how to play, and he is doing a good job keeping them focused. Offensively the team is more refined vs last season, even in the half court. Obviously having new additions in Crawford, Barnes and Odom help a ton, but you can see that they run quite a few plays to get guys open shots. All the layups and dunks the Clippers are getting this season so far it's just unbelievable. Even though a lot of them come off of fast-breaks, we're seeing more in the half court sets thanks to screens and cuts. So you definitely have to give VDN and the rest of the coaching staff credit for that.

Just like the Clipper players have gotten better, Vinny has gotten better as a coach as well. Hopefully he can keep having the team well-prepared and focused for every game the rest of the way, and the official accolades/awards should follow.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the fact that VDN has been able to do what Carlisle and Cuban couldn't...Make Odom play with heart and buy into this franchise. VDN got a worse version of him in terms of conditioning than the Mavs did. VDN protected Odom from jumpstreet, and always believed in him. Now you have a guy who is having fun again.

VDN has CP3 saying, "Play the right way". You have Barnes and Crawford giving props to their coach for believing in them. You guys can give VDN a little or no credit but he does deserve some credit for the way he has his players believing in each other. VDN has created an environment for these players to be happy and believe in each other.

The biggest decisions he has made in my opninion are reducing Butlers minutes, and getting Barnes more playing time. Also, I was at last nights game and the fact that he kept Odom in there longer and sat DJ spoke volumes to me. That was a great decision for two reasons: DJ hasn't been playing well as of late, and leaving Odom in for a long while keeps him in physical shape. Needless to say Odom finished with 6 points, 10 rebounds 4 assists, and we all know how well Barnes did last night and how well he has been doing all season long.

Much better perimeter defense as well. Vinny has been doing all that is necessary, and it is not just the fact that we have a winning streak, but the fact that the major corrections have been made.

Again, great decisions by Vinny

I have been supporter of the VDN throughout the argument and tell everyone, let see what can VDN would do. So far, he play this brilliantly. But the real test would definitely be the playoff with the likes against Spurs, OKC, and Lakers. Can he make enough plays to go over the hump? Also with this win streak, Clippers haven't face much adversity of late such as late game decisions. I'm wondering what would VDN decision would be when the game is on the line and such beside let CP3 iso. How would the defense fare against the likes of Spurs, OKC, and Lakers? If facing Lakers, can he beat the adversity of knowing it could be a 7 game road game? If facing Spurs, can he outwitted his mentor who turn out to be one of the greatest coach today and made necessary adjustment? If OKC, can he out think and managed to contained the firepower of this OKC team? As great this win streak it is, the real question would be, how well does he fared in the playoff?

So far VDN is doing quite well.

im sure we would have fared better in last year's playoffs had our team been deeper, which would have prevented bg and cp3 being injured. now we have the depth to beat down teams. green+odom+turiaf+barnes+hill+crawford>>>>>>>nick young, mo williams, evans, simmons and foye. the real question should be, who in the western conference wants to face this team in a 7 game series.

We all know it will be the Thunder... It's about either letting the two guys go off or letting the others, which have nothing like us beat us. Honestly, I think we want the 2 seed... I have a feeling the Fakers or Grizz will end up 4 and 5... Then the Thunder have to deal with that headache... Spurs are good, yet we have a more mental edge this year. Hell if we get the one, we gotta play like a one and beat the Heat or Knicks at the end!

VDN is doing a great job the players love what he's doing and believe in his system...

The real test for VDN this year is in the playoffs. If we go to the Western Conference

Finals VDN will be our coach for a couple more years.... Everyone seems to like Vinny's

coaching but he might be to unexperienced and we ALL KNOW CP3 wants to win it all

every year....
