Can anybody pin point the origin of VDN's lack of trust on putting DJ on the 4th? This season he's been clutch when he plays on the 4th against Utah, Minnesota, even OKC. I'm not saying play DJ all the time but when a player is having a good game doesn't he deserve a chance to finish the game?

I too think that DJ deserves a shot. He seems to focus better and hit his free throws down the stretch. He seems like a clutch player, and it'd be nice to see what he can do before playoffs start.

Even if he did choke at one point. You still have to play him more minutes especially if he is doing well in order for him to grow and gain confidence. What are we paying our big 10m for? To ride the bench?

Agree, he needs to learn now not later.

It appears Vinny is trying to establish his rotations for the longterm now, and it seems to be the same rotation for Dj as last season. I don't think it's a good strategy, and it sends a bad message. Vinny not being flexible in games in what garnered most of the scrutiny today and in the past. This is the time DJ should be allowed to gain confidence and if it's not working then you pull him. Every commentators talks about how he should be a better ft shooter with the form he has, so it seems to be in his head.

Bled and Odom look for DJ for the lob when they drive. Odom's time should be split between the 1st and 2nd unit when dj comes out, then DJ should come back when Blake needs his first rest.

Vinny should be able to handle this rotation because when he needs to go small, he can go with Hill and Odom, or when DJ is effn up.

When Billups is healthy is the one that worries me. Caron already appears to be sulking, and I don't want Crawford and Barnes both gunning for that 6thman award on the same team.

I was wondering the same thing.DJ isn't getting many minutes but has shown that he can make some impact plays to help the team.I understand VDN wants to stay away from the other team hacking DJ but even when there is 2min left and you can't foul off the ball he still is sitting.Odom is still not in 100% shape but is playing pretty heavy minutes. At least give DJ some minutes in the beginning of the quarter but none at all is very discouraging to young player.

You can think DJ has bought in but he sulks a lot on the bench.Even if Blake is his best friend and he likes his teammates he might be getting annoyed by his lack of playing time and with the rumors of the trade to Cleveland I wouldn't be surprised if DJ is a little salty about his role and how VDN is using him.Started off strong with some good scoring and 2 blocks and still got benched so if you don't get more playing time when your playing good then how do you get more playing time?

I agree with you guys, but all of this was bound to happen when Grant Hill returned. The team is almost too deep - if youre going to play Hill, Del Negro doesnt want to bench Odom or Barnes. So he tried small ball, it didnt work for end of the game. He tried, he failed. Better now than in playoffs.

One game. Regular season.

Unfortunately Hill has nothing to do with this. This has been Vinny's MO. Dj probably wouldn't have seen the floor regardless.

Right, but Turiaf would have seen minutes...my point is, its a journey for this team.

Im with you, I think DJ should be out there. Lets hope that through his experiments, Del Negro finds his balance for the entire team, and the best units.

Vinny, Vinny, Vinny... Love him as a person. A great motivational speaker.

As a coach? He tries his best and gives it his all. That's all I can ask.

I do have one question. Why do never have any plays at the end of tight games? And why wasn't CP3 taking that last shot. That's what he gets paid to do. 17 mill/year.

You know im glad CP3 didnt take the last shot. I dont want this team to get ambilavent and expect him to bail them out. They all need to expect that ball to be theirs in the last second

Exactly, and at some point we do need him to get minutes so we can figure out where he fits.

That was a terrible play though. BG almost ended up taking the last shot from 3 point range. I had no clue what was going on during the play.

I think I'd rather BG took the shot last night...nobody else was hitting except Green.

DJ totally deserved to be in the 4th yesterday. Sometimes it's about matchups and last night Orlando couldn't match up with our bigs...it's too bad Vinny didn't see it that way.

I think,,my guess would be,,he could see the rebounding not happening and was going for long distance shooters instead of the close up game,, especially because we never got any calls yesterday and we were getting hammered down low. PErhpas if we were getting calls it would have been different.

It's only one game.....DJ will get over it.

The moment that killed us was when Odom tried to go out and help and left Vucevic wide open for the dunk. That is something DJ would not have done.He would have protected the paint. That is were we missed DJ.

He never choked, VDN just likes ODOMs versatility. I dont mind playing Odom at the end but DJ deserves more minutes then he is getting. It seems like VDN starts him in 1st quarter and 3rd quarter then completely forgets he is on the team.

Also DJ averaging 9ppg 7rbg and 1.5 blks in less then 25 minutes per game is very good. I understand odom taking some of his minutes but not turiaf. He should play 30 minutes a game. But he should be on the bench with odom in during last couple of minutes in close games.

vdn needs to adjust his rotations based on the situation and matchups. cant be so cut and dry.
