He went from 54% last year to 64% this year and he's been Extremely consistent the past few games. He has a good rhythm and less of a hitch in his form. Its more fluid. Shout out to shooting coach, Bob Thate. They always show him sitting behind the bench like some character in the Simpsons, the Kung Fu Master shooting coach.

http://articles.latimes.com/2012/dec/02 ... i-20121203

FREE THROW % 64% and RISING: http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/3989/blake-griffin

MAD PROPS TO BLAKE FOR WORKING ON HIS FREE THROW GAME!!! Coach Thate should now spend more time with Deandre and Ronny Turiaf.

Can you imagine if Blake can eventually get his FT% to 75%?????? ITS POSSIBLE. Not this year but next year, or within a few years. He's developing a post game: Unorthodox, athletic, twisting, shots... you guys know what I'm talking about... but its solid and if he develops a turnaround and a step back jumper...

SHIEEEEEEEEE T We'll be in the WCF every year. OKC is the only team that scares me. Not Miami, not NY, not Memphis, not The Spurs. Only OKC. That's why every game matters right now. If we get homecourt vs. OKC, we have a chance to win the whole thing this year. And I will party for SEVEN DAYS STRAIGHT. LITERALLY. #CLIPPERNATION.

Yeah I was thinking about it the other day that it was only OKC in the West and Miami in the East that worries me. Of course we haven't seen this team in a playoff series yet but the signs are very good.

Blake is such a hard worker, it is exciting to watch his development and know there is still loads of upside.

I can see Blake shooting at low 70%. Just needs to keep working hard and staying focus.

I know this is a bit much, but I can see Blake hitting around 80% from the freethrow line. I've noticed that as long as he gets a good bend in his knees then the shots go in just about every time. Whenever he has a short bend in his knees the shot doesn't get enough lift and he misses short. Each of his shots are straight though, it's just whether or not that ball gets over the rim.

It's all in the knees. I think Lamar Odom might have the same problem to.

Ronnie doesn't get enough mins to worry about his FT % yet. but come playoffs he better step up. We need every player to be ready NO MATTER WHAT.

Ronny wan't hired to be a FT shooter and yeah, Blake is doing extremely well with the new coach. After that airball last night I think Ronny may think about practice,,that was pretty embarassing on national TV (my take is always, no Chumash Casino money for that guy!). Now just get DJ a bit better

he can get there. the guy is showing glimpses of excellent foul shooting lately. now if dj could get to 60 percent we would be good.

Blake's free thows have looked a lot better.DJ and Turiaf though have not.Ronny is usually a decent free throw shooter I don't understand what's bothering him. Also Butlers free throw shooting is down.

Agree. One time Patrick Patterson literally grabbed him with two arms and Blake drove baseline and made the shot. He was pissed that no foul was called. Overall he's complaining A LOT less now and I respect it. Also CP3 and Blake aren't flopping anymore. LOVE THAT.

If Blake keeps working hard, he will eventually get more calls.

Yea the only problems I have with BG this season is his rebounding which needs to be just a bit better about 10 every 36 minutes and settling for long jumpers. I saw him take a load of long jumpers last game when he could have attacked the basket or took a few more steps and made a short jumper.

I agree with the rebounding. Free throw shooting, jumper, post game and defense all greatly improved but I'd like to see more fundamentals and effort on the rebounding. I notice his motor is MUCH weaker these last two seasons. His rookie year he had a motor better than anybody in the NBA... now he's got an average motor and it bugs me. I understand he's learned to pace himself more and not burn out so quickly like that but still I want to see more of that rookie BG effort and hustle. He still shows great flashes diving out of bounds and stuff but I mean on the offensive glass and inside the paint.

Last few year's he'd go for rebounds that usually people wouldn't go for and he'd usually get them.... But... I'm seeing him hit the floor a lot less this year #bodyconservation

he had 12 rebounds tonight. but we will still hear people giving bg too much s*** because he doesnt get 20 and 10 this season, while forgetting he plays less, is not hitting the deck as much as he did last season, which supports the above viewpoint.

If Blake ever turns into a 70% Ft shooter I'll be thrilled. But if he can stay around 64-68% on a year to year basis I think were going to have no complaints really. Didn't he shoot well in the playoffs last year? NVm only 63.6%.

Blake needs to really clamp down on his FT shooting in the playoffs otherwise he's going to get fouled non stop with that poor %. Also his rebounds per game in the playoffs were like 6 or 7 a game in like 35 some minutes. That's awful LOL.

Anyways, good job this year on his FT%. If he was getting 35-37 MPG like he SHOULD be getting, he'd easily be posting 22 PPG.

Many people don't know but Karl Malone was a horrible free throw shooter his first few years in the league. He shot 48% from the line his rookie year but he consistently put work in the gym and that percentage went up to 70%, he finished his career a 74% free throw shooter. I see Blake Griffin doing the same if not better, his hard work will take him there.

Malone learned to calm down and had more patience. I think Blake, like Malone and other NBA players get a little antsy out there and try to do too much. As time goes on, Malone knew he was going to "get his" as they say and took his time at the line. The Jazz weren't amazing off the bat. I think when Blake does all his crazy moves and gets fouled hard while moving frantically to the hoop, he's got a lot of adrenaline going.

If he can keep up w/e he's doing I like where he's going with this. He's a great player and just needs to calm down at the line and take it easy. I was never an amazing FT shooter when I played basketball, but it's a FREE, THROW! Your basically taking a wide open shot from the line with what, 15 seconds to shoot.

Ralph or Smith said that BG was 80% since Jan 5, and that didn't include his 10/11 night he had. I was like Holy Sh!t, completely amazing. I agree with one of the other posters, now if he could get to the line more we'd all see a minimum of 20 pts per night on 32 mins. That of course would be saying that the refs actually call fouls, it just sometimes feels like the officials have it in for him. Maybe its just me being a homer, but I see many more guys complain, and get hit a lot less and they get the calls.

Maybe Blake can show him since his left is looking solid, or DJ shoot with the right (how much worse could that be?)
