He sucks, BAD! Getting paid 10 mil a year to sit on his lazy a** and deliver 0-2 from the free throw line, is a liability on defense, and hasn't improved at all since... Bad thing is I don't think anyone wants to trade for a big guy that can't do much, except probably the Celtics, they need an inside presence, but they don't have to much to offer for him. He's playing like a bench C at Best. Thoughts?

Correction... about 11 mill a year.

They should give DJ a towel on every timeout to get rid of the Butter from his fingers.

Now that I think about it we overpaid for him because of the GSWs. I hate them even more.... Its a shame but we did match their offer. DJ has been a disappointment. He has not made any notable strides since his rookie year and his FT shooting has regressed big time.

No way would we help out the Lakers. Pau has regressed hard.

His defense has regressed more. Remember 2010-2011 when he was thrust into a starting role with Kaman down? He looked like a LEGIT defensive anchor that had some serious games of domination. Now he got paid and is a worse player in every way for 10 times the price. If the Clippers are smart they will package him with Bledsoe this summer and bring in a SG or SF of the future AND a veteran center who can actually play defense and hit free throws. I'd love something like Deng and Noah for these two but no way in hell we can get that.

I guess DJ is just a low bball iq player. I am not sure if he can even get much better at this point. It has taken him five years to even reach this point....

How about just Jordan for Gasol straight-up?

Bledsoe, Green, and Jordan to Utah for Jefferson and Burks.

DJ is my dude but he SUCKS. This dude has everything but bball I.Q. And if we're gonna let go of DJ, we better get some really good center. Someone like Asik.

They should should try getting Javale Mcgee. I heard George Karl has some issues with him.

Exactly. People keep saying blah blah defensively but DJ sucks ass defensively right now. Not to mention Turiaf, Odom and Hollins play solid defense off the bench. Jefferson is a guaranteed 15/8 or so even on this loaded team.

DJ doesn't need to do anything except rebound and defend the rim. He should copy Ben Wallace

Instead he's going to spend all summer working on his post game... only to have it vanish after 10 games AND come at the expense of improving defensively and on the boards. I'm sick of seeing guards like Klay Thompson manhandle this guy for rebounds.

21 minutes 1 point and ONLY 3 rebounds.

Now everyone knows why Vinny gives Odom more minutes. Cause DJ does not know how to block out, shoot free throws, catch or hang onto the ball.

Yea I'm done feeling sorry for DJ. I'm on the Joe bandwagon of... he can shut up and stop whining. He's the only player that's constantly pissed about getting benched and acts like a little wuss yet does nothing to EARN those minutes from the other players.

DJ needs to play like his hair is on fire. He's been too complacent lately- kind of afraid of making mistakes. Part of it is just afraid of making mistakes, committing fouls, etc., and then fearing getting subbed out. He can have a much bigger impact on the game, but it's just a matter of playing more with a sense of urgency and passion. Every player makes mistakes, but he needs to learn to keep up the aggressiveness all the time even if he just messed up. Also DJ needs to always EXPECT to get the ball when he is open. Too often he doesn't seem ready for the pass because, let's face it, he doesn't get it often.

But in general, if he plays with much more aggression, he would be way better off. Don't think too much and play with the instinct of GETTING THE BALL- whether it be rebounds or blocks, and I know he will do so much better.

If I was to get rid of DJ, I wouldn't want Pau, I'd rather have his brother. Because Pau would be even worse defensively against other centers...and DJ's pretty bad against bulkier centers. I mean, when Blake Griffin has to defend the other team's center man to man, something is wrong. Marc and his mid-range jumper would, in fact, be a perfect compliment to Blake's game, even if "lob city" would suffer slightly.

Not that it would have mattered regarding today's game against GS, but I'm starting to think a bulky 7 footer would be more advantageous than DJ at this point.

Gasol (Marc) is WISHFUL thinking, DJ's worth is as low as can be by my estimation, he's got a GIANT deal on his contract with like 3 more years, and he's playing like sht, not a good combination in the trade market.

15/8 or not Jefferson is one of the worst defensive bigs in the league. The Jazz are over 10 defensive rating higher with him on the court. He is worst than Boozer in terms of defense. Our defense would be absolutely butchered with this guy on the court and he will contribute marginally to our offense at best considering he isn't particularly efficient scorer.

Let me post this again for reference.

Al Jefferson, Jazz

On/off floor MIN DefRtg

On floor 1,046 108.1

Off floor 553 97.6

Diff. +10.5

Pau is a beast and he'll fit in well with this team. Lakers aren't using him correctly. This is the same guy that was dominating under browns Princeton offense and in the Olympics. I have no doubt that when gasol gets traded he'll average at least 17 and 9

Can someone tell me the last game where do made a meaningful contribution? His regression is just pathetic. He is a nice guy but he needs to realize that he is a huge issue for us. At this point I'd almost rather start hollins, he is taller, makes free throws and is equally Athletic. He also has a better attitude. I honestly don't think DJ is infinitely better. I met DJ in November and he truly is a warm, nice person. Great cheerleader, but he needs to remember how he played in the early part of season. That seems like a fluke now

Not sure if we can get Orlando to bite, but I do a DJ + Bledsoe + our 1st round pick for Afflalo and Vucevic Wink...but don't think any major trade will happen till the off season anyway.

That's why I was mad that the clippers didn't attempt to grab Howard during the summer. They basically traded Howard for afflalo. Howard and Bledsoe with a pick or another player would have been a great trade for the magic

People keep acting like Blake will have a meltdown but friends or not Blake wants to win. If we got much better without DJ I doubt his sadness would last for long. Although if DJ cares about staying with his best friend for his career he better wake up.

A beast? C'mon...He's definitely got game, but he's no beast on defense. He'll be owned by bigger, stronger centers in the league.

And when I said I'd rather have Marc...of course that's wishful thinking (to whomever said that). I'm using him as an example. A bigger guy who can handle the real beasts of the league would be preferable.

I like having an athletic front court tho...it is just tou. If DJ can give us 8 points and 10 re ounds, I'd be thrilled. He just plays stupid

If we gonna Mel a trade the best trade and only trade that guarantees us a title because defense ultimately win championships is Noah who not getting along with coach deng 20 points a game great defender way better than butler with cp3 on griffin on his team and another pg back nate robinson for Bledsoe tpe dj and butler everything matches and bulls wanted butler in the past they would love Bledsoe and dj to make them younger lower salary playoff and championship experience

Ur listening too much to whiny lakers fans. They always blame pau! Lakers won back to back titles with pau on the post and Bynum playing limited roles. He's no Tyson chandler but he isn't boozer either on the defensive end.

What're you, his agent? The last thing we would need is someone soft on defense against other centers.

Not his agent lol. Who's the center that's gonna terrorize gasol? Jj hickson? Jefferson? Asik? Perkins? There is no center anymore

eventhough hes older, someone like KG would be a trade id consider. id trade dj to boston to get KG. KG would help this team out. idk what it would take to get him, but seeing the celtics are not going anywhere, they may take dj and a future first for KG.

Gasol would be great next to Blake. Both are amazing passers, both are versatile as hell. Only problem is his contract and age. He's a solution for maybe 3 years.

I'd cry tears of joy if we got KG a couple years back but he's about to turn 36. Would still be amazing to have but would suck with him likely retiring in a year or two. He almost retired this year.

kg would be a great teacher for bg. and hes a defensive presence still at his age. plus hes much cheaper than pau. dj's and kg's contracts match

Heck I'm just thinking about the Nenes and Cousins of the league, or the front lines from teams like Memphis or Chicago. Not to mention Howard or Bynum (whenever he gets back).

I'll say this...Pau's offense, much like his brother, would be a nice fit for BG offensively. I suppose as long as we still have guys like Turiaf and Hollins to come in, I'd be okay with it.

Ugh. None of this would matter if DJ was playing to his potential.

One thing. Support the players on our team.

Not everybody is perfect. I think he made progress especially in the beginning of the season. Give the guy some credit, basketball is a team sport not an individual one. He scares players because they expect a block.

Look at our bench even DJ is playing bad we've enough subs to replace him. And i think he's a great locker guy and mix very well in the group.
