In this league, whether the coach isn't doing something right OR the players aren't listening to the coach, the blame falls on the coach. I really doubt VDN comes up with nice plays and the guys don't want to hear anything of it.

When is enough enough? VDN has been handed the keys to a Ferrari and he drives it like a Toyota Camry. He is LOST when it comes to coaching the team how to defend the 3-point shot. 4 games in a row the opposition has taken in excess of 20 3's. Why is that? Because we don't know how to defend it! Why is VDN so completely lost in his inability to instruct the team how to defend the simplest of plays? What other teams are this confused by the 3? NONE!

The more games CP3 misses, the more I realize that he's the real coach of the team. No way he re-ups if VDN gets an extension. Somehow lowly Milwaukee has no problem defending the 3 and taking down GS, yet they have no issue beating us.

I've been a Clipper season ticket holder and fan since the year they drafted Danny Manning. I've waited THIS LONG for a team that's as amazingly talented as this one. And it's hard to watch them piss this all away. They really broke my heart tonight...

Even more reason to fire Vinny then.

Even if we win tomorrow by 50 I won't feel any better at all. 4 game slide when we were just the number seed two weeks ago is UNACCEPTABLE. I don't give a rats ass how shorthanded we are. No excuse for HOW we are losing. Consistently giving up 15+ threes a game that aren't contested. Choking leads away to end games due to predictable Crawford iso ball called by Vinny. I mean WTF!?

win tomorrow due to hot shooting, and then the "well, where are the VDN haters now"? posts start showing up.

We win tomorrow and we still give up at least 8 uncontested 3s. lol

Although allowing so many open threes and the eventual makes are keys to these losses, I point to two plays going down the stretch that stand out as reasons for this lost....the player or coach who told Blake at the last minute to go for the lose ball under the Blazer hoop and he stepped out of bounds......it led to a Batum three. Lamar being to slow to grab the loose ball that bounced right by him and it led to an and one on the other end. Six points that they earned on the other end for stupidness on our part. The team doctor better start getting that medical potion ready in hurry, or it will be a long road trip.....

What a tough loss. The guys had so many chances- so many missed chippies at the rim. A great look by Jamal at the end, but it was just a hair long. Great defense by the guys to come back, but towards the end, just couldn't make anything and had key turnovers- that one by Barnes really hurt. I'm fine with Crawford going one on one, but one of those possessions you wanted Blake to at least have it inside the post. But good effort by Blake, Bledsoe, Jamal, and the second unit in the second half. DJ did a solid job as well as he played more minutes than he has lately. Lamar did a good job too guarding Aldridge in the 4th by crowding him, but played poorly in the first half. Barnes- he made some nice energy plays as usual, but like Odom also made some poor decisions defensively leaving Batum, and of course that horrid turnover trying to feed Blake.

Ultimately the key was the poor play by the second unit in the first half allowing Portland to get to that big lead. That seems to be the trend lately. Without Bledsoe on the second unit, it's just not the same. Even though we miss CP3, I think what hurts the team more lately is that the second unit not having Bledsoe. His defense, rebounding and penetration are huge assets- you take those away from the second unit, and all of a sudden they're even more dependent on Jamal, and they get fewer steals and get to fewer loose balls.

Hopefully either CP3 or Chauncey comes back soon, if nothing else just to get Bledsoe back helping the second unit.

They tried to give Blake the ball, but Barnes threw it away that one time. You can't beat that look Crawford had at the end- that was like a layup for him. But yeah I would've love to see Blake touch it more down the stretch.

The lane was open with enough time to drive and draw a foul, I don't understand why Crawford settle a jumpshot when he can drive, was it VDN play?

We shouldn't even have been in that situation in the 1st place, we played STUPID the last minute, turning it over and missing everything, and leaving open lanes and 3s on defense, not playoff caliber team play. Even without CP3, WTF Blake almost had a triple double and we're still losing miserably.

I'd like to remember that but only if we had that December schedule again. How many long skids can this team endure? I've had enough.

EXACTLY. If we didn't dig ourselves such a huge hole, it would never had to come to that point. The second unit must do a better job w/o E-Bled.

Saw that too- I was like WTF? He better get a flopping fine for that.

Tomorrow will really indicate whether Vinny should be extended past this season. If the Clips win, then they right the ship temporarily for the long road trip they will endure. If they lose.....Vinny, God help your soul.

As for the two guards on the bench (Billups, Paul), Denver, Memphis, and Golden State is on your tail: cheer-leading and tutoring is over. Put on your jerseys and earn your paychecks for God's sake. I really wished we signed Ray Allen rather than Chauncey.

Agree wholeheartedly. The bench is just not effective without Bledsoe. Him and Crawford are the perfect combo of offense and defense and without them playing together its killed the bench.

Repped High Quality Post

There are better ways to feed a low post player than that attempt by Barnes. Iso plays with Jamal is not going to cut it. It barely works under Paul.

Oh yeah I'd rather see Jamal or Willie Green feeding Blake. Barnes in this case should be set up in the corner and cut to the basket as Blake is making his move.

Crucial failures on D cost us the game, lillards 3pt on ebled with the shot clock down n barnes fail foul on matthews leading to another 3pt play, that's 2 extra pts blazers should not have got which gave them a 1pt lead to win
