Hey Steve Kerr, Still Think Lamarcus Aldridge is better than Blake Griffin? I didn't think so.

Its always been like that. same w barkley. they dont like griffin because he wont dominate game in and game out. they want his numbers way up, which will hurt the team in imho. kenny then goes to say numbers just tell half the thruth (they werent talking about bg, of course). Lamarcus is a better shooter w more nba experience. blake is a better all around game...with room to improve.

Blakes has a better team around him. thats what this so called experts dont understand. LA has to do more. he is asked to do more. If they want imposing numbers they should check THIRD in a loaded west with 33 WINS. hows that for overpowering numbers.

Today at the game I got there early and yelled while Lamarcus was in the tunnel, "Hey Lamarcus you're Blake's backup". And he looked up and cursed at me! LOL

Another thing, I love how all the "analysts" are complaining about blake's numbers being down, but he's the leader in steals for power forwards, his defense has gotten extremely better, his shooting (J's and FT's) has improved astronomically, and he has an ARSENAL of post moves now. Oh, forgot to mention. career low 32 Minutes Per Game.

Yeah, they are idiots. They look at every number being down except the most crucial one, minutes played. When he is forced to play a lot of minutes we see what he is capable of, Lebron James like triple doubles.

Good for you. Everyone acts like Lamarcus is being snubbed, but Blake Griffin is a much better player than Lamarcus. Im glad you told him that, Kudos

Did they watch the games against Portland, OKC (btw Ibaka is considered the best low post defender), and GSW? At times BG was unstoppable, yes LA's outside shot is better but he wasn't even close defensively or near the basket that Blake was.

Personally,,don't give two sh**s about what Steve Kerr thinks. I think the more the pundits talk bad it's about jealously,,like a hen party (with my apologies to the ladies) when they have to tear down the one they secretly wish they had or their team or wished they would have played with in the old days.

I doubt it, this is a sport forum, and that means the member list is probably 99% men. The stuff guys talk about make women cringe.

Lets face it we're men, and that means a few things we like to sh*t with the door open, we talk about p**sy, we go on river boat gambling trips, we make our own beef jerky. That's what we do.

Of course, its just that the number of male sports fans is probably astronomical in comparison to the amount of ladies

I think you'd be surprised at the number of female sports fans if you don't realize they are out there. Try to take my wife's USC football or Clipper seats from her and you'll be in for a scrum. Try to take my sister's Dodgers seats away and see what it gets you. In my small family unit we go about 50-50 saying there are as many female sports fans as men.

lamarcus is a bit more refined as a scorer (can score from pretty much anywhere on the court under the 3 line). blake's more physical and is in a league of his own when it comes to creating fa shot from around the basket. blake's also much more physical - which gives him the edge when it comes to on ball defense (although its not spectacular), rebounding. blake's also a better passer than lamarcus.

also keep in mind the chris paul factor. lamarcus would be tough to stop if he had CP feeding him the ball. think david west x2.

side note: lamarcus is only slightly a better shooter from 10+ feet, but blake doesn't even have enough attempts from 10-15ft to really gauge his effectiveness from there. (less than 1 attempt per game from that distance. crazy, considering he averages close to 4 att/game from 16-23 ft).

so in the end, i wouldn't say lamarcus is better than blake or blake is better than lamarcus. its all a matter of what you want. they're pretty equal in "overall rating" but id give the edge to blake since he has chris paul feeding him the ball.

btw, IMO you can't compare players based on stats alone. there's so many factors in play.

and don't get offended if an analyst doesn't say a player on your team isn't the best out there. it happens. people have opinions and it doesn't mean they're hating.

Somewhat true but there are plenty of female sports fans. Your not going to see many in forums and if there were any that did browse forums they would be turned off pretty quickly. This forum is pretty good but in many forums people can make openly misogynistic posts and no one would really care. The more of a sausage fest the forums and the less rules there are the worse it gets.

Anyway I don't think its a huge deal that Kerr said this. I think its at least debatable. LMA is no slouch. This season to me its pretty clear that BG is playing better though. In the past it was more up for debate but not now. However, out of all the stupid things analysts say on a regular basis this ranks nowhere near the top.

idk if you guys saw what aldridge did tonight, but i cant wait until the day blake could do that. blake might be a better athlete but aldrigde is still better offensively. overall, they are pretty even if you ask me. aldridge is a pretty good defender and has great active hands too. but the things blake can do with the ball are where blake has the clear advantage along with overall athleticism..

i still dont see aldridge being on par with griffin. yes, hes offensively more fluid. but all he can do is score. for as big and strong as he is, (6'11, 255), he doesnt impose himself on d, and rebounds like brook lopez. on the other hand, griffin is a great passer, he is becoming a good defender. offensively, he keeps getting better and better. not saying aldridge isnt good. he is, but i think this is the best aldridge u will see for the rest of his career. meanwhile, griffin is still improving.

i think kerr is talking about right now. and aldridge is not only better offensively, but he is clutch.

that makes him an x factor offensivly as he can be a closer (take a look at his ft%). blake is not there yet. but he is better in a lot of other places. i think some people underestimate aldridge's abilities.

Other huge factor is Portland NEEDS Aldridge to play 38 minutes a night, while we rest Blake because of our depth

and that has nothing to do with his offensive skills or clutchness. that just means we will probably go further in the playoffs

As of right now Blake's efficiency rating is 32.59 per 48mins; Aldridge is 27.9.

http://www.nba.com/statistics/player/Efficiency.jsp

...more importantly, Blake ranks #8 in the NBA in +/-; Aldridge isn't even in the top 50.

its harder to stay efficient as your min go up per game and explains the efficiency rating. also, keep in mind blake is playing with chris paul, the best point guard in the world, and aldridge has a rookie passing him the ball. numbers dont tell the whole story

Blake's efficiency rating was even higher as a rookie...without Paul. And almost exactly the same per 48 mins.

By the way...zero points and 4 rebounds for Aldridge in the All Star Game this year. Zero. I don't know many great players who finished an All Star Game with zero points. This goes with the 4 points and 1 board he had the year before at the 2012 ASG.

It's true he was off the bench and didn't get a lot of minutes. But Blake came off the bench his rookie year and got 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists....just sayin'!

aldridge is a great player.. just took like 3 shots.. happen to miss them.. cant judge a player that just set screens and rebounds as a player that sucks. what im trying to say is that there both great players.. whos better then who? what is this highschool

Everyone knows that Chuck and Kerr are fools. Kenny, CWebb, and Shaq(despite his childish antics) always have good insight.

Not here cause this forum has classier people. Smile

Not sure why this was bumped. BG is better than LMA. Lets leave it at that and one ASG certainly does not mean much. Otherwise Kobe would be a good defender based on his two blocks on LBJ.
