Anybody notice Butler's improved defense lately?

I know some guys like Batum and Durant have went off in spite of this great D but Caron's defense the last 10 games or so has been wonderful. We all know he's a capable defender when engaged and I notice he's putting SIGNIFICANTLY more effort into sticking to his man. As a result his offense seems to be getting more efficient because his head is in the game more.

His defense has been noticeably better but his offense has not changed. In fact, it might have gotten worse. He has had a lot of bad games in terms of efficiency particularly from 3 point range.

Caron and Willie Green (offensively) both stepped up as of late and I hope they keep it up

Butler has been solid, not what he used to be, but he's solid so far.

Repped High Quality Post

The reason his Offense has been weak is because it hasn't been needed, he doesn't ask or need to be given the ball, his defense has always been there along with his hustle. People just haven't given credit for it.

He once led the league in steals per game when was with the wizards.

Not only that, but he signed here under the impression that he was going to be like the 3rd, 4th or 5th option. In other words, he is here for his veteran (championship??)experience.

Butler earned my respect when he came back and defended Rudy Gay with a broken hand last year. As long as he can spot up, shoot, and defend, he's ok with me. We shouldn't ask that much of him anyway.

well, he was here before cp3. I'm guessing he signed here under the impression that he and gordon were going to be options 2a and 2b after griffin

True, but if Chris Paul supposably pick Caron as an incentive to sign here, wouldn't word get back to Caron somehow?

Regardless, he did sign here first with or without CP3 and did so knowing he would contribute no matter who was on the team.

This is a team of specialists meaning that each player brings something different. Jamaal can't defend but can shoot. Barnes defends hustles and can shoot. Better defender that Butler. Butler a better shooter than Barnes. Hill can play point forward and is a good defender. Willie is a better defender than Jamaal

If the players understand that and ask for "appropriate minutes" rather than minutes we'll do OK. I really doubt VDN will cut his rotation to eight in the PO's. If he does he's nuts
