Would definitely improve the Spurs, but I'm sure Utah would want something of value in return.

supposedly they are asking for tiago splitter, stephen jackson and a first rd pick for jefferson. offensively they would improve, but splitter is a much better defender than jefferson, so they would suffer a bit on defense.

i agree but i think they are a more dangerous team with Jefferson. Him and Duncan would be a pretty potent combo offensively. Jefferson is a pretty good rebounder. His defense is junker then Splitter but its adequate enough i believe. Losing Jackson is not a big deal since they have a lot of good outside shooting wings already.

I hope the Spurs don't trade. Plus we need the Jazz to hold off the Lakers for the playoffs. I think this trade makes Jazz a little worse in the short run.

They aren't doing that. Al Jefferson is the worst defensive big in the league and would improve the Spurs offense marginally at best while making the defense significantly worse.

No his defense is not serviceable he is worse than Boozer and thats saying something. Dude is so overrated it isn't even funny. He gives up more points on the defensive end than he scores and he is such an overrated scorer. His scoring efficiency is decent but nothing special and the Spurs are a hyper efficient scoring team. His defense is abysmal and he is a waste of cap space.

The Jazz gave up something like 10-15 points per 100 possessions more when he is on the floor. Is Jefferson going to make the Spurs offense 10 points better per 100 possessions? lol Maybe 5 at the very best.

The Spurs aren't dumb. Just a bad rumor.

Btw valuewise Splitter>>>>>Jefferson anyway. Will probably have a much better contract, averages 15-16 ppg per 36 on very good efficiency. So-so rebounder but his defense is 10x better than Jefferson's.

^I agree, terrible trade for SA. Splitter better and much more bang for the buck then Jefferson. Splitter is a FA next season but I think SA re-signs him.

Just another internet trade rumor IMO. SA is not dumb to say the least.

Wow, didn't realize Jefferson was that bad at defense. Good stats you brought up to prove the point. For the playoffs defense is definitely more important and splitter fits super well with spurs now.
