I haven't seen any games live yet due to a variety of circumstances. Instead it's mainly an online source. One advantage is watching the other teams broadcasts. I like Lawler and Smith, but different perspectives can be interesting.....

That said, the Orlando crew was pretty classless. In the first ten minutes there were pretty begative comments about every starter, to the point where I don't recall anything positive....and almost in a heckling tone. Comments like "a shot by Odom is as good as a turnover", and after a missed shot by Jordan "Jordan is heavily challenged on offense" (this was before the post spin move that resulted in a dunk.

It actually makes me appreciate our broadcast team, I can't recall them falling into such a negative and sarcastic tone. Just professionalism, always ready with compliments where due...

If anything, their announcers love us. Their studio analysts are the one who are against us. Guys like Faker homer Murt Rambis and Celtic lover Bill Simmons.

Hubie Brown always favors us. Remember the Chauncey game-winner against Dallas? The ESPN announcer was cheering.

Every broadcast team does it,but some do it worse than others.Mike and Ralph criticize people but it doesn't seem malicious.Like when Dorell Wright was playing I remember Ralph saying,"What happen to Dorell Wright?" because he has been struggling this season.I personally am a big fan of Wright and was hoping the Clippers would sign him in the offseason(this was before we signed Crawford and Barnes). So I was listening closely to what they said and when you hear someone criticize one of your favorite players you take offense to it and that did not happen to me at all when....

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that noticed this. I moved to the bay area for college so I bought League Pass. Most of the teams' announcers are pretty bearable (save for Tommy Heinsohn of the Celtics, the Bulls announcers, and now the Orlando announcers, etc)

I was really unamused watching that game, literally all the Orlando announcers did was talk about BAD things about the Clippers. it was really classless, absolutely horrible. Literally, they just sat there talking about how bad the coach was, how bad all the players are, who's horrible at defense and who's not.. Then they were talking about how they're "injured" and missing key players.

They even went to the lengths of saying that the Clippers and Magic both were missing players so it's even. What? The Clippers are missing 2 of the WESTERN CONFERENCE ALL STAR STARTERS. They were missing 3 of their starting 5, and their 6th man and only real scorer off the bench. They were missing.. JJ Redick, Glen Davis, and Afflalo? Yeah, totally makes up for losing CP3, Griffin, Billups, and Crawford.

They really pissed me off, it was just really bad listening to them complaining about the refs, about how bad our team's offense (which destroyed them) was, how bad our defense was, and just generally not saying a good word about anyone in a Clippers uniform.

I live in England( and am English) and am fairly new to watching the NBA, I am more used to watching Soccer games. The announcers (we call them commentators) for Soccer in England are meant to be professional and un-biased toward either team, and for most part they are.

Now I know with the NBA it is totally different and the announcers actually work for a particular team but I am so used to hearing relativly unbiased coverage that sometimes I find the comments shockingly unproffessional. Some announcers are definatley worse than others, but sometimes its just pathetic and its almost like listening a petulant whinny or annoyingly bragging fan-depending on weather their team is winning or losing. I much prefer a level of professionalism, sometimes it is just pathetic. Also often the announcers can be pretty ignorant about Clipper players. They will make comments based on reputation or past form that are weeks months or even season out of date. I know there are a lot of teams in the association and the games come thick and fast but it is their job to have current knowledge. Do these guys have research/stat assistants cos they certainly don't seem to. Very annoying to here announcers go on and on about one teams stats, players etc and completley neglect the other team.

Rant over.

Rant is not quite over.

I remember watching one game-it might have Orlando, not sure- and one announcer was getting really annoyed at the refs not calling fouls for his team. Despite the fact that the refs seemed to be calling most things for his team and letting the Clips get hammered. In England un-professionalism like that would cost your job. I want to listen to someone call the game not a fan shouting at the TV.

I watch a lot of EPL games as well, and one difference to note is the lack of regional broadcasts and the size of your cou try in general. If I'm not mistaken, most games are broadcast on a nationwide channel. Most the games I've seen have been on networks like Sky Sports. I've only seen on broadcast that was remotely biased, from Manchester with clearly biased United crew (which based on their popularity, could be a local broadcast for national/international purposes?).

Here in the US there is a great degree of autonomy, with teams having their own local broadcasts crews and on local channels. Watching this year has been a real eye opener, and really makes me appreciate the fine lineage of broadcasters we have in Southern California. Perhaps we're just spoiled.

That said, I always thought it would be cool to have an 'urban' broadcast, with all the slang, language and passion, nothing held back. Would be like watching with your friends

I've had to watch games after I can find a download, so am always one or two behind. It's tough trying to avoid news coverage, etc. On the plus side I now have a library of all their games this season Smile

They were kinda right, Odom is shooting the ball horribly and Jordan is heavily challenged on offense.

I've heard worse about our guys. this wasn't that bad.

They were pretty quiet when Jordan did a nice spin move in the post and threw it down.....just a few minutes how remarking that 'he is seriously challenged on offense'.

I don't mind the comments, it's the tone and general attitude. They sounded like it was Orlando vs a high school c team.....I've grown accustomed to this tone as a Clipper fan of 25 + years, it just seems rather inappropriate now. Not like the joke the Boston crew made...."Clippers have 20 turnovers, and are playing like the Clippers we know". Fair comment for the time, and not in the same belittling tone (though the pace of the Boston broadcast was borderline sleep inducing and they cried too much about not getting foul calls...but Boston has earned that to some degree).

the worst announcers are the thunder announcers, the celtics announcers and the flaker announcers. they take the award for most biased and inaccurate commentary in all of the nba

Having finally watched the full game, it was interesting how complimentary they suddenly became when the Clippers were up by ten. Almost a total change in tone!

That said........anyone hear the superman music at half time? Did they forget to ell the crew that Howard left the building a few months ago???? Lolol.
