We need KG, he will put us over the top for this season and maybe next season also. And in 2014 when KG retires there will be some good FA Centers like Marcin Gortat and DeMarcus Cousins.

It's really not necessary for us to get Garnett. He's only averaging 15 pts, 7.7 reb, 2.3 assists, & 1 block.

DJ is averaging 9 pts, 7.3 reb, & 1.4 blocks. And Bledsoe is averaging 9.6 pts, 3 reb, 3.3 assists, 1.6 steals, .9 block. Not mention Garnett is 36 years old, which makes him more vulnerable to injuries. I say we keep the team chemistry as is.

A lot of people don't realize that we are thin at PG if we lose Bledsoe. We don't have Mo Williams anymore.

^ Does anyone realize that if we didn't fall in love with Odom this summer we could have traded Mo for Milsap... or re-signed Mo as a backup pg & traded Bled for Milsap & had a great 2nd unit... Our bench would look a lot like Utah's starting line-up...

Just a thought.

Didn't say they weren't, just think having Mo, Crawford, Barnes, Hill & Milsap instead of what we have would be an offensive improvement... Mo & Milsap>Bled & Odom.

I recognize there's an excitement to all this trade speculation. It's tempting to add another great player to the lineup. But we are a great team right now. Our biggest flaws come out when we are injured...particularly when our best players are injured. But when everyone's healthy we may well be the best team in the league. I was ready to trade Caron in a heartbeat before Paul and Chauncey both came back. Now they're back, Caron's effectiveness also goes up. Same goes for DJ. And the bench gets to do what they do best.

But this really feels like a completely unnecessary distraction right now. I think we are going to make a huge impact in the playoffs. We have everything we need right now...especially our defense. We just have to come out the rest of this season and post season playing Clippers' basketball! Playing with intensity and doing our thing.

We got this.

We need a starting sf and future sg. That's our weakness.

Mo wasn't staying around to be a backup another year. The last year he was here, he was causing trouble in the locker room. I respect him for not going to the media and playing at a high level off the bench.

I don't know, I just don't think KG can bang with the towers of the west at his age.

What towers? An old but still effective Tim Duncan? Broke back Howard? Marc Gasol? Not much competition. lol

I personally think that Paul Pierce would bring more to the Clippers than KG considering either case would be a short term rental. If we can flip Bledsoe and Butler for Pierce, then I think that would give the Clippers the best chance at competing with the Thunder and Heat this year. Pierce adds not only championship experience and dedication, but he also stretches the court and would free up Blake and DeAndre down low. Imagine CP3, Mr. Big Shot, and Paul Pierce on the perimeter with Blake and DeAndre in the post. And of course, in the 4th quarter, Lamar Odom down low with Blake.

I'd put Blake at the 5 in late games so Crawford could be out there too...

Caron and a 2nd for the return of swaggy p.

Sf/Sg on an expiring deal who has proven he can win with this team last year and hit some of the biggest shots in clippers history!!!

We need a future 2 and an upgrade at the 3 which nick young can provide us all while getting rid of butlers 8 mil for next year. He can also start at the 2 for billups if injured or the 3 as a starter or bench. If it works out we can resign nick and and another good big for those 8 million.

Our team better not trade 2 of our young important rotation players for an old grumpy kg.

we need a minor tweak if any. You seen how our bench was destroying other teams bench first half of the season and now that bill ups is healthy our starters have killed the Knicks, lakers, rockets, 76 ers. Clips looked better than all season these last few games.

Not necessarily towers but big bodies in the paint. Unless Blake griffin turns around and starts banging in the paint for rebounds (i don't care what the stats say, the tape says otherwise), I see these tandems out rebounding us:

Perkins/Ibaka - Okc

Gasol/Randolph - mem

Bogut/lee - gs (if bogus can return to form)

McGee/manimal - den

That's 4 teams contending against us. Way different in the east with bosh/lebron, Wallace/brooks, and the other small ball teams.

It's a negotiation ploy, IMO - Olshey did the same thing several times in the CP3 talks. Either they want to make the Celtics reduce their asking price or give us Bradley or Pierce in addition to KG.

You really think KG would have a hard time with Perkins/Ibaka? They aren't even towers.... The only group that is even remotely relevant is Gasol/Zbo. They would give KG problems. Mcgee/Manimal? Bogut/Lee? Man have the quality of big men went down big time.

I agree im not really worried about any teams frontcourt. if we get outan run they should be worriedabout us. With the depth of our team we can force other teams play our style. Our bench as it is right now can really help us. I hope Bledsoe locks up guys like he didi last year. Bledsoe is such a great defender at the point. He manhandles guys and in the playoffs when they rant calling ticky tack fouls he will shine again like he did last year. I can't wait for the playoffs. Especially if bill ups is healthy. He can really help stretch the floor as well as get to the line(90%) and is a good passer too, he hardly makes any mistakes and he's a smart defender.

The Celtics are now apparently in trade talks with Brooklyn about Paul Pierce, per Woj:

Remember when Garnett said he'd only waive his no-trade clause if Pierce also gets traded? I really think KG will be a Clipper soon.

Supposedly, Ainge is more desperate to move KG than the Clippers are to trade for him. I think he realizes the Celtics' window of contention in the Big Three era is not only shut, but locked and boarded up for the foreseeable future.

That's really interesting, it would make KG very upset with the organization and could possibly ask for a trade and it would put more fire into his game. Lets hope KG comes back to the West side

What else is he supposed to say: "we have plenty of trades that make sense for DeAndre Jordan and we want to ship his ass out"? That's one way to sow discord in the locker room. NOBODY in any organization directly says they're going to make a trade until it happens.

Garnett has a no trade clause. Unless he said he would waive it if traded to certain teams, there was 0 discussion here. All these rumors are simply made by writers who want their pre season bet in Vegas to trade for their player so they can win some money.

it makes me excited, Boston will kneel down to us for a DJ+EB to KG trade but we will just give DJ for KG tomorrow and we will give Green as a bonus . it's a take it or leave it. Very Happy

This would screw up our team and the chemistry,,and I suspect it will happen. I suspect in NBA management it is a battle of egos among GM to show they are better then the rest and ours haven't done anything yet since we all know CP3 built this team. Trying to make their mark making a "block buster" trade,,,,then costing us ,maybe even the division by screwing up what it working.

Reading the yahoo article what stands out is the part about management will stand pat unless CP3 wants it,,if he wants it, so do I.

Clippers organization have WIN NOW mentality and se that they have the pieces in place.

I'm OK with letting go of Deandre Jordan in seeing that he really has no offensive game and is just a high flying dunker.

I am kind of partial to Bledsoe because he has been good as a reserve, but I think the F/O saw that he has no real leadership when CP3 was down with the bone injury.

Outsiders say that the Clippers have no playoff experience or veteranship.

With Billups, CP3, and KG, I think you could make an argueable case.

New territory for Clippers and Clippers fans......I'm all for it.

It wouldn't feel the same if the clippers won the championship with only 1 or 2 "homegrown" players. I don't wanna be the lakers, no buying/trading our way to championships.

I'm confident no big move is made though. Chris Paul almost hand-picked this team and insisted that the clippers keep Bledsoe and Deandre before getting traded here. If any move is made, I hope it's a small one like cutting Turiaf/Hollins for Jermaine O'neal like someone suggested. That's all we need, we're already a good team, let's keep it that way!

Thing is... the other behind the scenes good thing is this trade is great long term too. DJ's 3 years off the books, KG retires this year or next and we have a TON of cap we can clear for a max deal in free agency and get another shot to lock up a 3rd piece that DJ failed to live up to, another MLE and a few minimum players. Basically trading DJ for KG= Great flexibility in the next 2-3 years.

As I said in my post, that I didn't mean necessarily towers but more so duos that crash the boards or big bodies.

Ummmm yeah lol. Even though in 1 game we outrebounded them by 3 and another they outrebounded us by 1, that will change when the game slows down. Perkins and Ibaka crash the boards hard and when the halfcourt game comes into play, look for them to crash even harder.

Only one I can partially agree on is the Bogut/Lee one because it depends on Bogut returning to form but Lee has always been a board crasher.

And if you think Faried is not going to out rebound KG then I don't know what to tell you.

Like someone else has said, KG is averaging the same amount of rebounds as DJ in a smaller eastern conference. The celtics are almost winless against the west this season and don't rank near the top in rebounding either. I don't think KG who is 36 is gonna do more than DJ who is younger. Yeah, maybe on offense, but I see our rebounding getting worse and we were already complaining about it.

KG is more than that!

We are in a state of WIN NOW mentatlity and to show CP3 that we are serious about winning, forming a team/dynasty and that we are the LA team on NOW, the future and he and Cliff can have his imprint all over it.

Kg is done. He is old and every time I have watched him this year he seems washed up. Dj provides length and athleticism that makes people think twice when penetrating the paint. I am not a fan of finesse front court players that settle for stupid jumpers

Jordan is a liability at the free throw line, which is why he deosn't play the 4th quarter in close games.

If anything, his minutes will the same or less come playoff time.
