It is what it is. And now is the time to think about it.

Must get home court advantage against OKC. (2nd round)

if OKC has home court its over for us, dont get me wrong it would still be 1 hell of a series, but most likely 7 games with game 7 being a crowd noise blowout

aka typical NBA year with Charles and the boys getting what they want, to see spurs vs okc..., Just like they all predicted

Its very rare to see a team thats not part of the "TNT" "ex players" picks to actually make it to the Western con. finals

Getting OKC To Come To our house for game 1 is huge on mental psyche and automatically change the tone on a majority of news outlets and ex players giving their " thoughts" on who is better and going to win

These games now and march 3 is crucial to how our season gonna end

either listening to a bunch of OKC bitches yelling in game 7 that they won or Playing spurs (if not knocked out yet) for Finals

PERIOD

Well HCA in the conf semis is definitely huge, but I also want to get the #2 spot because there's a huge dropoff in the competition from 4-6 and 7-8 right now. I'd much rather play the likes of Houston or Utah than GSW, Denver, or Memphis in the first round.

We have to hold off Memphis for the 3rd spot.

Clippyclap, unless you have a crystal ball, this post is a bunch of BS. You can play the odds, but you don't know, and it's not "must", and it's not "it is what it is" if "what it is" is you knowing how it will all play out. And don't complain that I am nit picking, YOU chose the language you chose, your words have meaning, and their meaning is just outright wrong, because you don't know how it will all play out.

It is so important not just for the second round but the first. If we get the 2nd seed we play houston or the Jazz, that is much easier then the warriors. We have had a tough time against the warriors and that series could go 7 games. Its important to have the easiest path to the finals. Look what memphis did to us last year it took a lot out of our team physically. Also I think the spurs will be easier to beat this year for us because if they are stuck playing memphis that could leave a old team ragged after that series.

Also the thunder series it is very hard to beat them at there place. Thats is why its imperative we get home court in that series.

The rest of the way every game matters we can not give away games like we did early this year.

Nah, man... he wrote "PERIOD" at the end of the thread title, so that makes the OP's word law and the entire subject beyond debate wink

The only thing about facing OKC that worries me is the officiating. The new D whistle will probably average 20 FTA for the series.

Getting 2nd seed boosts are chances significantly. We all know that. It helps us avoid a GSW matchup in the 1st round and gives us a much needed HCA against the Thunder.

Couldn't agree more about the officiating. Okc and lakers get the most calls by far. It will be hard to get the 2nd seed but hopefully we do!

Right now, Hollinger's playoff predictor has us playing Houston as the 3 seed, and GSW if we are the 2 seed. You might want to consider the possibility you're rooting for the wrong direction, if those are your goals concerning the first round match-up. Houston apparently has a notably easier schedule than GSW for the rest of the season, and Hollinger predicts Houston will finish 2 games ahead of GSW despite the current standings.

#2 should definitely be a must. I would much rather go against the Rockets, Lakers, Mavs or Jazz in the first round over the Grizzlies or Warriors.

I definitely think that we have so much of a better chance against OKC if we play at Staples for game 7.

It's entirely possible Warriors will fall to 7. And, the odds are Grizz will fall behind Denver.

Is nobody looking at the difficulty of schedule ratings? Is everyone just looking at the current standings and assuming they will hold like this, even though they have not held like this for an extended period of time the whole season?

Look guys, there is no way right now to predict who anyone will be playing. I'd say the most likely game at this point is Denver vs. Grizz, and even that is not set in stone. You just can't predict the first round right now.

It's mathematically possible that the Spurs completely miss the playoffs. I'm definitely not gonna look up 8-10 different schedule difficulties. Of course the standings will probably shift around before the season ends, but here's the probabilities: OKC, Spurs, and Clippers will shift either way. Either team is capable of finishing first and I don't see either one of them finishing lower than #3. Warriors are falling big time but are on the same tier as Memphis and Denver. And the 7th and 8th seed's up for grabs between the Jazz, Rockets, Mavs and Lamers. As for schedule strength, the only schedule I pay attention to is the Clippers schedule. Now that the Grammy's trip is out of the way, along with the numerous back2backs in January, the rest of the schedule isn't bad. In fact, it's the type of schedule a team would dream of. It's not difficult, but there's enough back 2 backs/tough match ups to keep the Clippers on their toes.

I'm furious about us giving up so much ground to the pretender Grizzlies who are now just 1.5 games back. I feel deja vu again where in the last couple weeks of the season they make take our seed just like last year. They are on an easy ass part of their schedule so not impressed at all but we NEED a 5 plus game win streak NOW to have chance of catching OKC or putting a gap on Memphis and Denver.

I would prefer that we get home court against OKC in the playoffs but I'm confident that we can beat them even without it. All it takes is 1 win in the 1st 2 games against the team with the home court advantage to swing the momentum in your favor. Durant is amazing but Westbrook is a little bee-otch. He'll choke under the pressure. I'd be willing to bet on that.

We can beat Indiana (without hibbert). Cavs might be without kyrie. Then beat okc at home, then bucks at home. All winnable games! It won't be easy but we can!

Agree. If Westbrook can be streaky (probable) we will win. I'm more worried about the refs and our bad luck. Like Westbrook unfortunately gets on fire most of the games.
