its simple, the clips making the playoffs and will get home court advantage in the 1st round ( unless Vinni the unadjustable makes his mark) its pretty much a lock in

So who do you want 1st round and why??

Utah

golden state

Houston

Lakers

1st thing is 1st, Vinnie will be out coached NO MATTER WHAT, wrong game plan, incorrect substitutions, you name it! the man will do it

so you gotta throw that out the window and make a wise decision on who we physically match up better against ...

i think its houston, they dont have the players inside and would receive too much respect from mchale about defending the paint making it a clipper style game....

We're 4-0 against Utah... I'll take them.

And FYI, Vinny's coaching against Hollins won us the Memphis series last year. He's CERTAINLY better than Corbin.

I want Golden State,Clippers should sweep this team to teach a lesson,I don't like their attitude towards our players.

quick screen - shot guards, kill us every time, Vinne inability adjust on defense is truly 1 of the most remarkable stories this year

golden state would be licking there chops playing us,

during the game vs spurs i heard griffin scream out towards cp3 said F*%$ it! then CP3 screamed out "motion on D"

that said id love to teach those bitches a lesson, but mark jackson has negro in check

if they didnt have that game 1 comeback would it have been the same outcome?

Idk about utah, having a player like al jeff, who does what ever he wants in the paint and unable to challenge him (ivaronie is the worst big man coach in history of nba) with DJ flop of an offense, all it really takes is a hot foye and a working mo willams to cause serious damage

I don't care who we get because it will be a great series regardless. Even more so because there will be a lot more eyes upon the team to see how far we will rise/fall depending on who you ask. lol

If I had to choose, I wouldn't mind the Lakers because first, it would be a guaranteed battle and it would be awesome to snuff them out of playoffs once and for all and leave our mark.

A close second would have to Golden State because I want the Clips to prove that they are the superior team. Also, it would be a nice change of scenery to have new rivalries other than the traditional Lakers- Boston type sh*t.... lol I know we have Memphis but Golden State would be that much more intense! Norcal vs Socal anyone?

Utah or Houston. Both have been favorable matchups for us, and like Memphis, their coaches are dumb enough that the coaching battle will be negligible.

In order of preference.

Utah

Houston/Lakers

whoever, the playoffs will be our chance to prove ourselves. i would love to see the clippers beatdown on the warriors the most, though. but the way the warriors are struggling, i doubt we see them.

Rockets are the most exciting team that we could see in the 1st round. Harden is so fun to watch except when refs send him to the line for being within breathing distants of a defender.

UTAH. We would destroy them at home and lose one at Utah.

Utah. We would beat then 4-1.

Houston/Lakers

Golden State

The concern with Houston is James Harden and all their 3 point shooters. They play terrible defense but can score in bunches. Harden might be getting all the calls.

The concern with the Lakers is that they will definitely get more calls then us. Kobe is very dangerous.

Golden State, their 3 point shooters are dangerous, great home crowd, and doesn't seem like we matchup as well with them.

In all honesty, with homecourt, I think we would beat all of them. 4-1 over Utah, Houston and the Lakers. 4-2 over GS.

We don't have the homecourt advantage over the fakers even if all of the games in the series were played on the Clippers' court.

Houston. I think we own them this year.

And, I think VDN is a decent coach, and there are too many sofa-coaches on this board who think they know better than VDN when they've never accomplished anything in terms of coaching themselves. It's a typical kind of fan you find in fans of any sport, and those people are always the same, and usually wrong. When I think of those sofa-coaches who think they know better than the coach of whatever team they are rooting for, I picture Homer Simpson.

The crowd wouldn't be the biggest problem - it'd be the corrupt refs and having to play 5-on-8 every game.

Any of the bottom 4 teams other than GSW. Sure, I think we'd beat the Warriors, but we'd have a tougher time with them than the Rockets or Jazz.

Golden State just to see the look on Mark Jackson's face when we're stomping them. Also would like to see curry and lee cry. And that punk bazemore! I'd like one of our guys to foul that dancing fool so hard that he'll be go back to the d league

Among all the actual playoff teams right now, I'll take them in this order - Houston (own them), Utah (tough arena), then Memphis (not as tough arena as Utah but will be tough series even w/o Rudy Gay). Fakers would be after Memphis b/c we while we own them right now, we effectively lose HCA. Until they break the top 8, I don't really care about them at the moment, and even if they make it, SAS is probably going to hold onto the top spot anyway.

After those teams my picks would be Denver then GSW.

Lakers or Warriors for spiteful reasons. And I hope we meet the ButtNuggets in the second round and we kick their asses. I live in Denver and have my own reasons why I hate the Nuggets.

"1st thing is 1st, Vinnie will be out coached NO MATTER WHAT, wrong game plan, incorrect substitutions, you name it! the man will do it"

I completely disagree. He's just as good a coach as Corbin, Jackson, Mchale, & D'antoni. People may forget this but in his first two seasons with the Bulls he got them to the playoffs. & now in the first 3 seasons as our coach, he's got us there twice. I get that people generally don't like him on this forum, but c'mon everybody. Open your eyes. He's not the best coach, but he's still pretty good. Got to the playoffs 4 out of 5 years? I'm all for criticism when it's due, but he's done a pretty good with the Clippers.

I kinda agree with your assessment. Vinny gets alot of criticism because of everyone's high expectations of this team. High expectations are due to the talent we have. Whether its unfair or not, it happens alot in professional sports when you lose games you arent supposed to, have high expectations, and want your team to win so badly. Someones to blame and its usually the coach, leader. Even some laker fans were calling phil a has been during the years they werent doing that well.

I agree he's at a similar level in coaching ability to the coaches you mentioned above. Only a few coaches are clearly much better then vinny.

Here's my predictions for seeds:

  1. Spurs (lots of home games remaining)

  2. Thunder

  3. Clippers (we will get the 2 if we get on a hot streak like December or okc injuries but odds against us)

  4. Memphis

  5. Denver (terrible on the road)

  6. Golden State (lots of home games left)

  7. Houston (one of the easier schedules)

  8. Lucky Lakers (Utah getting bad luck with injuries (Mo Will, millsap, now Jefferson), nba rather have lakers in)

We will beat golden state in 5 games. Win first 2 home games, split in GS, win game 5 at home!

^ Be nice to send them fishing, but something tells me that series would get dirty and the last thing we need is to go into the second round banged-up again.

Perhaps the Lakers upset the Spurs and we play them in the 2nd round.
