Tomorrow we play the thunder if we win the clippers will be up by a half game. Also Tony Parker is out for at least 4 weeks. I know the spurs sit out guys and they still win but this is there main piece. Tony is the straw that stirs the drink in San Antonio. We have a real chance to get that #1 seed. That would be huge, we would avoid playing both the thunder and the Spurs in the playoffs.

Big Ralph wonders

Ralph Lawler ‏@Ohmeomy

Does injury to Tony Parker give Clippers a shot at Top Spot in the West? Maybe. Better catch #2 OKC First. That could happen Sunday.

I'm more worried about getting the #2 spot first. But the #1 is a definite possibility now that Parker is out. Let's get it!

Ralph and I are on the same page. Spurs will still win games, but they are human... unless of course Manu keeps getting 15 assists like he had last night.

TP's injury opens the door for OKC and us. Someone tweeted the Spurs are 7-7 w/o Parker. Losing Parker hurts them the most compared to losing someone like Duncan or Manu - he's their MVP candidate and not easily replaceable when you look at Neal and de Colo. I don't see Manu starting but certainly their older guys will need to log in more minutes, that'll hurt them going into the postseason. However their March schedule isn't particularly tough until the end of the month, plenty of subpar to average teams and a lot of home games.

Let's beat a struggling OKC team on Sunday first before worrying about catching the Spurs. Gotta be #2 before we can be #1.

Point Of Great Concern For Spurs

If Tony Parker misses significant time with a sprained ankle it could be bad news for the Spurs. The team has a .773 win percentage with Parker the last three seasons (including Friday's victory) and is just .500 without him. Here's a look:

With Without

Win Pct. .773 .500

W-L 150-44 7-7

PPG 104.2 100.6

Normally I wouldn't be happy because I don't like it when we succeed because of other people's injuries... BUT..... We were without Chris Paul for a month which hurt us in the standings so I consider this a neutralizer.

im sure this is the FURTHEST thing from the players' head.

and that's a good thing.

i hope parker gets well real soon, though. that spurs team deserves to go into the playoffs at full strength. they've got something special (as usual).

Pretty surprising to learn that in terms of W-L the Spurs are just like us... a .500 team without their starting point-guard.

Kind of flies in the face of the "Popovich's infallible, mechanical system vs. Vinny del Dumbass' systemless clusterfuck" argument.

As great as Pop is, it appears that having an All-Star point guard running the offense actually does make a difference for coaches.

Well, let's go for number 2 first, then we'll see about 1. I'm tired of seeing the Spurs and OKC winning all their games. I hope our Clippers are too. They can do something about it tomorrow!

Don't care about their injury let's just take advantage every opportunity, this is NBA nobody cares about our injury.

Didn't think he would be out for that long. 1st seed might be open now but we have to focus on 2nd first.

I really hope this thread doesn't jinx us... we don't need that. Everyone was thinking it but I'm not so sure it's smart to talk about these things.

Our chances are better with Parker out but hopefully Pop doesnt have something up his sleeve.

Doubt it WB hasn't missed a game since high school. lol

Only wish CP3 has his durability. He would be unstoppable.

Spurs schedule ain't easy either they play Denver and OKC 2 more times each plus us and Miami once... That's 6 L's right there and we keep up our 8 outta 10 (or even better another perfect month!!) we may just be playing for the #1 spot when we meet em again on the 29th

Regardless of where we land in terms of seeding, I think us, OKC and San Antonio will all make it to round 2. And we may have to play one of those teams in that round. I'd be more worried about that than getting the #1 or 2 seed.

Let's see if we can even hold the 3 seed before we go for the 1 seed.

I think the NBA is goign to try and make sure OKC ends up in the one spot and they will let the rest of us fend for ourselves (after they also make sure the Fakers get in). Maybe I ma jaded after today and the BS I saw.

Lakers make the playoffs... But get swept in the 1st round to the Clippers. I'd be dancing like Cartman for days.

The Worst thing about this Tony Parker injury is that Spurs enthusiasts and the media are going to use this as an excuse as to why they suck and get ousted in the playoffs just like every other year. Regardless of whether he comes back in time they will use this as an excuse...when even with a 100% Tony Parker anyone knows the Spurs time is done. They have too many role players and aging stars that cant cut it anymore against all these young teams. Just wait and see....
