"They got the timely calls when they needed them"

What's your problems? This shows we can beat these guys and they know it. This isn't the PO's not to worry. WE should have won. Bad calls and stupid fouls.

I kind of agree with this... it stings now, but OKC are going to face some seriously pissed-off Clippers when they next meet. I HOPE we get them.

Despite what the season-series say, the Spurs still scare me more than OKC... I want us to go "Grizzly" on their arses the way MEM did to us last year.

Another thing is I mentioned early in the game (I think 2nd quarter) that we should try a 3-2 zone... we waited way too long to try. Great coaches make adjustments and try things during games.

Are you sure about that? Reggie Evans got a tech for high-fiving a teammate.

Just watched the game- such a tough loss and a huge damper on trying to get 2nd or even top seed. Guys just came out tentative and nervous. A game like this, you have to be pumped up more from the get go and just attack. Just so many turnovers and offensive rebounds allowed putting the team in such a bad position. We also missed so many layups- Bledsoe a couple, DJ, Blake, Odom, Barnes- 2 of those hoops go in and we win the game. But the intensity was really excellent starting in the latter parts of the 3rd quarter.

As I posted in the other thread- IMO that was a horrendous decision to not kick Ibaka out for punching Blake Griffin in the balls. If that punk doesn't get suspended for a couple games, then there is something seriously wrong.

Another thing is I notice this year we are nowhere near as good at closing games due to CP3 declining in that regard. Last year in clutch moments like tonight I was 100 percent sure CP3 would come through. This year we lose more games like this than we win and it's troubling.

There is one positive thing I would say. VDN, good job on adjusting to zone defense and throw off the Thunders. We got them for a while until it was too late. Great effort Clippers. We still have a lot of work to do. At least we know that we are a class above the Lakers.

well they already know it's gonna be him, so they start guarding him better. I don't want to say that they've "figured him out", cause they've known for a while, he's just close to unstoppable in the clutch. they just double him hard when he gets the ball in clutch situations. we need legit plays

Good and interesting quote from Jamal Crawford after the game.

"Westbrook puts pressure on the defense and is always in attack mode. I wish Chris was attacking a little bit earlier in the first half, but he really got it going. We feed off that and we went from there".

In other words he's nicely saying what many of us say constantly. CP3 needs to understand that there is a time and a place to play the set up guy. It can't come at the expense of constantly passing wide open 3's and midrange jumpers. Especially because he's one of our best shooters. He NEEDS to attack earlier to set the tone every single game, it's not an option or a luxury of his to decide when and when not to.

CP also bas a tendency of passing up wide open layups. I've seen him a few times this season pass the ball for some reason when he could've easily laid it in or at least thrown a floater.

Well i really like hearing that, you have to put it out there in a polite way to correct problems. BG need to take his open shots also instead of looking for BG

Couldn't agree more. We have alot to improve on but if the refs called a fair game, no way we lose this one. We just need to be better cause the refs prob won't call it fair in the playoffs...

^ Not really fair considering he was benched for the entire 1st quarter. If anything it was our first all-star who wasn't aggressive enough. I know CP3 feels more comfortable with Chauncey out there, but he defers to his 'big brother' way too much. It's really strange actually, considering that CP3's game was built on competing with his REAL older brother and his friends... having to make shots over bigger kids and fight them off when he had the ball in his hands.

The way he finished that 3rd quarter is how I want to see him play, but when the 4th started he was back trying to hook up everybody else.

evans was soft as well. the only one who had the heart to go after people was Kmart. he even made perkins back down by getting in his face.

It was the most obvious flagrant II I've ever seen. As much as KMart is a thug he gave ua a junk yard dog attitude which is missing. Blake needs to start posterizing guys and Ronnie and Hollins need to clobber a few. Where's Trey. Barnes and Butler will. We beat the Grizz by pure meanness. The Malone/Stockton twins were not nice guys.

We're not that far off from winning the west. 2-1 against the Spurs. 0-3 vs thunder but 1 game was without our best player, cp3, and the other 2 were super close losses (one in OT and other by 4 points.). So try to be positive about our team! Hopefully we get better and stay healthy this last stretch!

Lakers will get lucky on Tuesday if ibaka gets suspended.

How do the Grizzlies have 4 games in hand? We are 43-19 and they are 39-19. I guess our February schedule forced us to play a little more games.

The "good" news (if I can call it that) is we pretty much outplayed the Thunder in the second half. Of course we were so far behind, it still didn't really matter...but it may be something to take with us. It's really strange because we played so well against them last year. I think every time we play them they are really UP for it. Maybe it's because we beat them last year. But Westbrook keeps putting up crazy numbers against us. Perhaps it's just over optimism on my part, but I don't think they would be able to keep that up against us in a series.

I also came away feeling good about the loss.

We played like crap the first 30-36 mins and almost won the game.

I think Durant only had 2 or 4 points in the 4th qtr too.

If it wasn't for the refs, the game would have been there for us. OKC has become the Fakers. They get all the calls and they complain about the ones they don't get!

Couldn't agree more. I am disappointed and upset about this game but I also gained confidence that we can beat this team in the playoffs. There were positives to take away from this.

They sure did!

Tim Duncan last yr in the playoffs even pointed out how the refs helped Okc clinch the series- http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/07/tim-duncan-refs-oklahoma-city -thunder-nba-finals_n_1577073.html

When we are playing the Lakers or Thunder, we'll rarely get the calls our way but as deep as our team is, we can go to war 8 on 5 and still come out victorious!
