"I probably would have smacked [Ibaka] in the mouth," Bryant said after the Los Angeles Lakers practiced Monday. "I would have dealt with the pain after."

Dont get me wrong i hate kobe bryant and the fakers, i think its the worst organization in modern time , just buying superstars and win a championship and im saying this with out bias ....real talk They are they fakest fans ive ever seen

that said kobe words on imbullcrap is 100% spot on!

someone should of (matt barnes) literally opened his palm and smacked him in the face

guarantee would have won the game after that

I'm sure nobody realized what had happened the moment it happened except for Blake. The game was really intense at that moment and Matt Barnes 3 pointer was in the air the moment of the foul. I'm sure nobody saw the foul the moment it happened so they couldn't react accordingly.

As far as the quote goes, obviously Kobe has never been hit in the nuts. I don't care how tough you are, a hit in the nuts, especially one as direct as the one Blake received, is nothing you deal with later. The moment of impact is just such a foul feeling.. ugh.. I even felt it when they showed the replay over and over.

I'm sure Ibaka will be fined for the hit, and if he's not, then Blake needs to seriously consider taking MMA classes over the summer because he's going to have to start kicking ass and taking names. Anybody who watches Clipper games can see that Blake gets fouled harder and more maliciously than any other player in the league by far. If he doesn't start fighting back, or if the Clippers don't find a way to bring in Metta World Peace to watch Blake's back, then it won't be long til Blake cracks one way or the other..

Every time I look at that replay, I can't figure out how that wasn't a flagrant 2. He came over Blakes right shoulder with his right hand, so it's not like he made the foul while fighting for position. It was a purely malicious hit. You can even see the intent in his eyes as he swings down. I've always had a ton of respect for Ibaka, but all of that is out the window now.

The worst part is that Ibaka went on to make the 3 point play that fouled out Blake and ultimately pushed the game out of reach.

Agree. I used to have respect for Ibaka, but now I hate that guy. Even if he felt there was rough play throughout the game, that was just an uncalled for cheap shot and not justified. I agree with Kobe. He deserves a smack in the mouth. Artest is my least favorite player in the NBA because he's the dirtiest by far. Ibaka joins my hate list.

I disagree. Solving violence with violence doesn't work. We should have let our play do the talking.

Kobe wouldn't have done ANYTHING... and even if he had, he'd have gotten his arse kicked into next season. He's just talking like a tough guy to impress his little fanboys, and maybe goad Blake into doing something stupid. Two birds, one stone. He's talked the same sh*t before about the hard fouls Blake gets, but did he smack D-Wade when he broke his nose? Did he f*ck.

He needs to keep that nose out of other people's business and his d*ck out of teenage skanks before somebody decides to smack HIM in the mouth.

Kobe will do anything to try and make himself relevant/make a headline. He is a Faker after all so acting aint a thing to him!

Kobrick's one to talk about cheap shots. He's been infinitely dirtier in his career than Ibaka.

Kobe likes to hit people in the nuts too, him and Ibaka will have a great time together off the basketball court.

I don't know why you guys are acting like Kobe is trying to squeeze his way into the topic, the reporters asked him, what was he supposed to do? Lol

come up with a better response or something he would actually do instead of acting like an arrogant prick. Kobe is not smacking anybody especially not Ibaka. FUK KOBE

Of course it does. That's why we all aren't wearing funny little moustaches, speaking German and keeping the ovens warm.

Back in the day Charles Oakley would have clobbered Durant. Clobbering Ibaka means nothing. We play without Blake. They play without Durant. It stops real fast

Ibaka should have been ejected and that's what cost us the game

What else was he supposed to say on the spot? It's not like he said anything bad about griffin. Also, it doesn't matter when someone is bigger and stronger than you. If you got the confidence within yourself, you're typically not scared of the other person. I'm sure Kobe has that confidence.

Lol at people calling Kobe out. This is Kobe takings sides with Blake Griffin for like the 5th time in his career... so if anything you guys should be taking this as a compliment. Kobe is a fan of Blake's game and wants him to succeed. I don't see WHY they would get along so well but every all star game they have an on and off the court chemistry that's obvious. Whether or not you guys feel Kobe actually would smack Ibaka doesn't mean what he's saying is wrong. In this context it's more of a suggestion for Blake IMO. I agree 100 percent that Blake needs to man up on this. Sure it would suck to lose him for a game or two but it sucks even more to see players constantly cheap shot him without any retaliation.

Not only do people start thinking he's soft and take advantage but it also risks serious injury a lot of times which hurts his career. Just punch a guy once man.

Those "nut taps" are common as hell in basketball. Big difference between that and a full powered hammer fist to the balls. If somebody ball tapped me I'd be a little mad but it's not really fight worthy. If somebody hammer fisted me with intent to harm (any hit that hard= intent) once I can stand normally I'm attacking.

It should've been a flagernt 2 plus one gm suspension , u can't just hit another player with intent to hurt them and that's what happened !! The clippers should take that film of the gm and protest the nba for the referees poor judgement on that call and the whole f***** gm !!!

Anyone that thinks they can fight after being kicked in the nuts has never been kicked in the nuts, at least not hard

I can't blame him for not knowing how it feels to get hit in the nuts, because he doesn't have any.

True, he didn't say anything bad about griffin. I guess you can just call me a kobe hater. He could have just said, "That was a dirty play, I don't know how he can say it wasn't intentional when you take a swing down there." Something like that.

I guess Ibaka is not getting suspended? Has anyone heard anything?

Yeah...the whole point of the topic is basically to get Ibaka suspended to better the shot of the Lakers winning tonight and catching the 8th seed. Kobe would have not retaliated, because he's also on the edge as far as technicals go, which would hurt the team.

How about: "Ibaka's LUCKY somebody didn't punch him. There's no place for that in the game... it'll only escalate into something worse. If the league wants a clean game, I'm sure they'll take action". THAT would have been taking up for Blake and still getting his ultimate wish of a suspension.

Instead, he's trying to call Blake out publicly for not being as much of a "tough guy" as him. And if he IS so tough, why did he let a SMALLER guy break his nose last year without consequence? He's full of sh*t and just trying to stir things up like a little b!tch.

I agree with TooHip... the appropriate action is to have one of your thugs take it out on the other team's BEST player. When Durant starts getting hard fouled every trip down, the cheap shots will stop.

The best response actually came from Howard... when asked how he's going to play Ibaka, he said "Well, you gotta wear a cup".

But then, clowns have always got the best jokes.

agreed. oakley would have broken durant in half as payback. that mofo was crazy. i agree with kobe's premise, but hes not one to talk. has never backed up his talk with any action. ibaka would kick his ass

haha I remember that! Just because Kobe is a great ball player doesn't mean he can fight at all. He's just talk.

lol at Kobe talking about "smackin" people now that he's a 17 year vet. I still remember clearly what happened when he got "tough" with Chris Childs and Reggie Miller. I don't care if Kobe has experience or "old man" strength. Ibaka would crush him.
