The NBA's Golden Boys OKC Thunder are once again protected. Multiple guys have been suspended this year for less malicious hits, yet Ibaka gets off with a small fine.

Chris Mannix ‏@ChrisMannixSI "No suspension coming for Serge Ibaka, I'm told. Fine only for the crotch shot on Blake Griffin."

I hate OKC worse than I ever did Memphis. Hope we get these mother fu**ers in the playoffs. Even if the refs hand them a series maybe we can injure a few players or deliver a few shots of our own.

Pretty much a load of crap right there. This was a big issue and it looked like he might receive a 1 game suspension at the least.

funny how Barea's love tap on Ray Allen was ruled a flagrant 2 last night, and you have Ibaka getting away with his dirty play... ridiculous...

At least it's kind of a win-win. He won't miss the game against the Fakers. But for the NBA's sake, this is bad. The Thunder are the NBA darling. How in the world does a shithole little market get babied so much?

Lol I'm not cheering for them or anything... but I'd rather OKC lose Ibaka to a game and lose tonight... (hopefully a losing streak) than beat the Lakers man. This is about our situation going forward to me.

To be fair, Matty went for the throat. Still bullshit, though.

I'm not too worried. We'll take matters into our own hands come playoff time. We have the tougher team... "grit and grind" can attest to that. Screw Ibaka though - f***** scrub - one of our guys should hurt Durant.

Ridiculous how the teams the refs favor the most are OKC, Lakers, and Miami. Durant, Kobe, Lebron.

Miami isn't favored NEARLY as much as RefKC or the Lakers. In fact, I think Indiana and Memphis are more favored than Miami because of the physicality they're allowed to play with and all the touch fouls called on their opponents.

Remember when Dwyane Wade got every call when Miami won their first title without Lebron?

Lebron still gets a lot of calls. I agree maybe not as much as the Lakers and OKC but still alot.

Agree that Memphis and Indiana are allowed to get away with a lot more then most teams.

There you have it- punching another player in the nuts will only get you a flagrant 1 and a fine. SMH. Just laughable. Seriously Blake should file an assault charge w/ the police on Ibaka just to prove a point. Video evidence is abound. Let's see if a real justice system will think of the matter. Because if this crap is not cleaned up, who knows what other players will do onto Blake next.

So let me get this straight, they upgraded the technical to a Flagrant 2??? Which means he would've been ejected, which means he would've never got that And 1 that changed the game. And after last nights baby push of a foul......that's a slap in the face to us and a f_kin joke. I'm pissed about that one

That just cements that the game was rigged. If it wasn't, the right call would have been made on Ibaka IMMEDIATELY instead of two days later. $tern had to hand his Thunder a victory!

I'm starting to believe we'll never be allowed to even make the Finals until Sterling's not around anymore and a Stern crony (like Clay Bennett) takes over.

matt barnes deserves that contract extension just for his comments alone. i guess the message now is the refs arent going to do their job when it comes to the clippers, then the clippers may have to exact their own justice. f*** the NBA and F*** that piece of s*** ibaka. cant wait to see them in the playoffs. i hope hollins clips ibaka, westbrook or durant with a cheap shot and puts them out of the series. thats what they deserve

Agree with Hollins sentiment, I was wondering about a similar situation in which a Clippers minor role player could cheap-shoot Ibaka in the playoffs at the risk of a several-game suspension. However, the playoff rotations are reduced to 8-9 players and hence the Clippers can't afford to lose anyone from the playoff line-up.

While reading this thread, I couldn't help but recall the Kermit Washington punch to Rudy Tomjanovich's face in the 1970's, as portrayed in the book The Punch.

Goes back to my late father's theory of how all professional sports are fixed and/or crooked.

It is a given (In my mind)the NBA wants to see LeBron and his boys battle OKC and their boys and OKC is getting everything they need to succeed. It makes you wonder how Stern and the clones (aka refs) of his get away with this but really in their minds it is irrelevant. They have their chosen teams and we fools that are not on the list keep coming back anyway and spending big bucks because we believe in our hearts the teams we root for can make it but Sunday shows the respect and chance we really have.

As much as I hate the Fakers,,I hope someone on that team tries a revenge shot for the LA pride and I may even break a long standing tradition of rooting against the Fakers this one time. This Durant/Westbrook/Okc nut hug love affair the NBA and their fake refs have for this team makes me ill.

Oh,,and a flagrant two means he was kicked out of the game right,,well no because the fake refs wanted to make sure he got to finish the game before the reality of what that crap for brains did on Sunday. Hell, even the uber biased 570 afternoon Laker homers were sticking up for us today.

Poor Blake,,wonder how many times in the history of the NBA have gotten punched in the nads then foul out in the same game. He may be the actual first.

End Rant (I am more pissed every day when I think about that game)

I would agree , about the fine part for MAtt, except now that Lebron and Wade and maybe others have voiced their displeasure we won't hear a peep from the NBA Stern Clones anymore.

But holy h e ll will break out of Matt gets fined for his comment and no one else.

Blake responds brilliantly.

"From what I heard, I guess he's saying he was just trying to get his hand away from mine," Griffin said. "I actually didn't have his hand. He had my arm, so I don't know how it's going to be interpreted. It is surprising [he won't be suspended], but it is a big game tonight and I don't think they want one of their .. I really don't know. It's a big game."

Griffin stopped short of saying the Thunder's game against the Lakers had something to do with Ibaka only getting a $25,000 fine instead of a suspension, and just smiled when he was asked again.

"I don't know," Griffin said. "I don't know. It's a big game though. It's kind of a mess. It's kind of a tough situation. Whatever the NBA wants to do and however they want to handle it, we'll let them handle it that way."

Kobe Bryant said Monday he would have "smacked [Ibaka] in the mouth" if he were Griffin and "dealt with the pain after."

Griffin, who was on the floor in pain after he was hit in the groin area, said that's not something he would have or even could have done at the time.

"It's not really my job to start running around punching people and hitting people because it doesn't really solve anything. It really just gets myself in trouble, and I don't want that. When something like that happens, I feel it's best to let someone else take care of it because me going and punching somebody isn't really a part of the game.

"I understand what Kobe is saying. You can't really tolerate that, but especially in that point in the game, I didn't need to be getting into a scuffle with the game being on the line and us trying to claw our way back in it."

"I saw some of Kendrick's comments, and they didn't make sense to me, to be honest," Griffin said. "I think what he was trying to say is I was grabbing his jersey and I started it all and I deserved to be hit where I was hit.

"But if I started swinging every time I got my jersey tugged at, I probably would be swinging on every single play."
