Is anyone else even more pissed off that we have another 2 day break to be stuck with a painful loss? I really can't stand these layoffs after a loss.

Championships are not won in march, but we need to start peaking soon. Then all this negativity people hear can end.

This is why I'm worried about this loss, loss(blowout) to SA, los( blowout) to OKC and now we get blown by Denver those are all playoff teams. WHO CAN BLAME me for worrying now? These are all losses to potential 2nd rounders, even 1st rounders possibly considering we're not the #1 or #2 seed.

Yes I understand the worry. I'm a little worried also. But if we can improve and peak this last 18 games, that's more important.

If we won these recent games against playoff teams but slumped these last 18 games, people will dismiss the recent wins.

I think Chauncey will get into a rhythm right about time for the Playoffs. He along with Odom in the Playoffs could play a huge part in how far we go.

I was just baffled in the 3rd qtr. Our coach literally had NO answer. just give it to Blake, than just give it to Butler, than... I stopped watching cause they went up nine in 1 minute.

Our problem is we need to develop a blue collar mentality when it comes to not getting calls. When Blake got hacked in the head and complained as if we are supposed to get calls (which we should) it was a game changer and we played like p*ssys the rest of the game.

I apologize for the personal attack. I knew my post would get noticed the second I did that though and that was the point. The guy needs to be banned.

And I'm not a homer. I see major flaws in this team. Ask the people I was with tonight when I was watching the game. But I have hope and I would like to stay positive. I know 0 Clipper fans up here in Oregon and I like to read on here to get my morale back up or just see what people are saying about the game. Typing BS about VDN over and over again is too much. Is it so much to ask to keep that in the Vinny thread? I stay out of it for that very reason. Look at the last 10 game day threads. I can almost guarantee that he argues with someone about his BS in every single one of them. That's trolling.

One of my favorite posters around here is ClipperJoe and I never see him due to guys like him. Also, I'm afraid he won't make anymore videos for this site because of this stuff

Chauncey's been looking old as hell lately. I had my doubts before the season, but I really hope he proves his worth when it matters.

Seems like he's here in a Dan D'Antoni capacity... just to pacify the guy we REALLY want.

Enough with this bullshit... if CP3 leaves, so be it. We need a REAL shooting guard.

Warriors know they can beat us but they are playing badly recently. Those losses in November through January might not matter. Just like people say we peaked too early, so did the warriors when they beat us earlier. Need to be consistent with arguments. If we're a different team now, same argument can be made about the warriors.

In other words, we still have time to get better. There's 18 games left but if we can peak then, that would be most important.

the clippers lost twice to the warriors in the 2nd game of a back to back. dont act like its an excuse. fatigue definitely sets in. denver beat us tonight in the 2nd game of a back to back and without our best scorer off the bench in crawford. okc beat us on sunday with incredible reffing bias. beat us in the 2nd game of a back to back without cp3. and i agree with lobcityhawaii, if we peak right before the playoffs, we will be fine

For the most part everyone makes good points. We may not agree but that's okay. A lot of people don't like 82-0, but he makes good points as well. I wish he was a little more optimistic but having mixed personalities and such on this board makes good discussions and debates. Yes and layoff the personal attacks. Just ignore people you can't stand.

We shouldn't tend to Chris's every whim anymore especially if he plays like tonight, he's turning into Mr. 4th quarter because that's the only time he does literally anything at all. He's still my fav player but Jesus Christ CP, put some damn urgency into your game.

I apologize for the personal attack. I knew my post would get noticed the second I did that though and that was the point. The guy needs to be banned.

Like I told you before, put him on ignore. Simply click the button that says "ignore". Simple as that. If he were a Clipper troll, he would have been banned a long time ago, but if you look at this post history, it doesn't seem to be the case. He could also be banned for spamming, but he doesn't just talk about VDN.

I'm not going to go around banning members who I don't agree with or you whoever else don't agree with or feel annoyed by. Otherwise it'd just be myself and a few others here Wink. This is an open forum for people to talk Clippers. And I think it's great to read debates between members who have different viewpoints as long as guys don't start calling each other names and spewing disrespect towards one another.

So again press the ignore button for anyone you don't want to read. I hate having to ban members, but I will do it to keep things civil.

Repped High Quality Post

First time poster but long time reader. Been a fan since 2001 and have seen the good and the bad. I have the feelings of both posters, am very proud of the team, but also feel they should be better than what they are.

A couple of things I'd like to say about this team:

Like so many on here, I'm very disappointed in DJ. I know expecting him to be top 5 center is never going to happen, but the guy at least needs to start earning his pay. He can play very well at times, but most of the time he hurts the team more than help.

I really don't understand CP3's play of late. At times he's aggressive but other times he looks like he's intimidated by the moment. That's not a good sign for a guy who thrived off this spot last year. I don't know if he's saving himself for the playoffs or he's trying to prevent himself from getting hurt, but waiting for the 2nd half to turn it on won't get it done.

Vinny has GOT to come up with a solid rotation. I know it's hard with the number of players on this team and not having Jamal didn't help, but you can just see that sometimes when we try a whole new lineup, they have no idea what their roles are. Vinny has to figure out which lineup is going to work night in and night out. You can't just bring in people off the bench randomly and expect it to carry you. This has be addressed.

That's all I have for now. Nice to be here and I Look forward to getting to know you guys and getting into some interesting discussions with you.

The funny part is I have never said I disagree with 82-0. I'm just sick of seeing his garbage take over the game day thread. Can we not ask for the VDN stuff to be put into another thread? That's a legit question

Welcome! Good thoughts. Agree with cp3, looks like he is just cruising along until the playoffs. He shows up for the vig games and slows down against the avg to bad teams.

As for rotation, I feel odom is the key. Odom looks like he is trying hard for that new contract so we should see him in better shape come playoffs. Im hoping to see 30mpg for odom come playoffs

The Clippers are going to need Bledsoe's speed and athleticism moving forward. CP3 is getting torched by younger, quicker guards. Gonna be a tough decision this off season as it pertains to Bledsoe. Caron Butler needs to go. Should have been dealt at the deadline. Definitely need to get rid of his 8 million dollar salary next year.

Del Negro should take a page out of George Karl's book and use DJ for the 2nd unit. McGee has shown major improvement due to the fact that his game is able to flourish playing against weak opposing second units. Not too many athletic seven footers in the league let alone on most second units.

As great as the season started the Clippers are starting to shape into a 5th seed team. The way Denver is playing, it looks like they'll be locking up the 3 seed. Clippers and Grizz gonna battle it out for the 4th.

So you would start odom at center? Interesting thought. I still think we will finish with the 3rd seed. Denver still has to play spurs twice, OKC on the road. Remember Denver is 14-19 on the road so even against lesser teams they struggle. Memphis has a tougher schedule then us, mostly road games.

Thanks guys. Being a Dodger fan, I'm very accustomed to disappointment. (Sorry to fellow fans, but I'm very worried about this year's team.)

I sure hope they can finish strong and play better against the remaining teams that will be in the playoffs. I don't think a title is a serious reality this season, but we if don't advance at least past the second round, I'll be very upset.

A title will be tough but I think we can make it to the west finals, in which I would be happy. But we need to make it at least to the 2nd round. And not get swept. We can prove everyone wrong by making it to the west finals, which means beating OKC or SA.

I guess Denver on a b2b and not having Jamal was just too much to overcome...

This team seriously needs to put together a string of Ws against playoff teams if we want to even consider making it past the first round.

Yes, agree. It was too much to overcome. And we need to beat playoff teams. This starts next Wednesday against Memhpis.

Yeah not only do we need the W against Memphis to regain confidence and momentum, but also to keep them away the 3rd seed. The importance of the game goes without saying.

OregonLAA

I really don't think it matters if we are the 3rd or 4th seed. We would only get 1 round of home court advantage, plus we would face Denver instead of Golden State who we can't seem to beat. The thing we don't want to do is fall to 5th and deal with playing in Denver most of the series. That would hurt

You are not on the OURDODGER website,,are you?

And I agree with your DJ stuff,,,the only reason I wanted him around was Blake wanted him around,,if Blake changes his mind I will join the Fire DJ bandwagon. I really see no improvement save for that new little hook shot he does

When I look at Blake I can list want he can do better this year then last,,DJ I got nuth'in.

I guess it matter on who you would rather play, Denver, Golden State, or Memphis. Agree, that we need the first round homecourt. If we play Denver and have homecourt, it will go 7 games, but we should win. Denver can't win on the road and no one can beat them in Denver.

With homecourt, I think we can beat Memhpis again this year, same for Golden State. Sucks that we had to play Golden State twice on b2b on the road. At least playoff time we won't have to deal with that. Plus Golden State has been playing really bad recently, definitely worse then us. If they limp into the playoffs, they will be very vulnerable.

I don't think the nuggets will be able to do what they do in the playoffs. With games being every other day, I don't think they can keep up the running game like that (no matter how young they are).

If Nuggets had 1st seed HCA I could see them give any teams fits tbh but they don't so I am not worried. They are just as bad on the road as they are good at home.

We got DJ mostly because he was the only Big around. Everybody hoped he'd mature. As has oft been said Centers are overpaid. Blake would not have signed elsewhere if given CP3 and Lopez instead of DJ but I could be wrong

Solid rotations are a matter of debate. We have the luxury of giving opponents different looks. Think of it as more tools in the tool box.

Example. Hill, Barnes and Bledsoe and Odom when he's on don't have much offense but they can defend like MFers. Substitute Jamal for Hill, not a bad offense. Throw BG in at #5 great small ball, Fast.

Hill can play half court if he ever gets out of his shooting slump. So can CB etc etc. If Hollins didn't pee in the pool there are times when he could be a Hack a DJ vaccine

I think we should try more small ball tbh against teams that have a weak C like the Thunder.

The Heat always seem to dominate the Thunder with small ball.

I ain't scared of the Nuggets frankly. They're just hard to beat at home. You can't understate the fact they've only had 3 losses at home. As long as we stay ahead of them in the standings....and we BETTER...we'll be fine. I can't help but wonder how this game would have gone had Jamal played. Especially the way he's played lately.

It's a little frustrating of late, but I still have faith in the Clips. I think they need to just do what made them successful in the first place. Stop second guessing themselves in the halfcourt. I actually didn't love hearing that CP3 was acknowledging our "flaws" on offense. Before idiots like Barkley were questioning our halfcourt offense, we were doing just fine. We need to go back to the way we were playing in the first half of the season (before Paul went down). And definitely go back to the style of D we played.
