Losing without some key players is underta dae as other teams have dealt with it. But with the way we lose, it's very concerning.

True cant argue there.

Jan 22 @ OKC 109-97

Feb 10 @ Miami 111-89

Feb 21 vs Spurs at home 116-90

March 3 vs Thunder at home 108-104

March 7 @ Nuggets 107-92

March 13 vs Griz at home 96-85

See a trend?

6 straight losses against elite teams.

And our only wins against top seeds in recent times were against Indy and NY. They're just borderline contenders with 2nd round exit written all over them just like us.

Forced into bad jumpers yet again because we don't get ANY f***** calls. Yet on the other end we can't even look at them.

I'm getting sick of this sh!t... we need to reinvent ourselves as a dirty, hard-fouling team. We may slip a few spots in the standings, but it's worth it if you get that rep and you're allowed to play hard.

Those who want to see more of DJ... the worthless bastard was invisible tonight. Jamal sucked too, but he's allowed an off game with the performances he's given us this season.

You and I argued before when we were on a 17 game win streak and I was complaining about the exact things that are biting us in the ass now remember? So not all of us are being frontrunners about it. I knew this crap would turn on us eventually and I was right.

What are you talking about? I argued with you because in the guess the score game a few months ago you had us losing to Memphis by 20 and we ended up winning by 26! You were wrong then and you are wrong now, sure it was a bad loss tonight but its not the end of the year, playoffs haven't even started.

You also called me out about being negative and it went beyond guess the score. You and I believe it was Tense were offended that I was being negative despite us winning.

Refs were terrible but not the main reason for the loss.

these are the games where if i could id bitch slap dj and tell him to "grow a pair" and play his ass off. i dont think any of our guys have gone off on dj. enough with the big kid routine. treat him like a man. its a shame that the freakish physical tools and potential DJ has is being wasted by DJ himself.

Funny how we lose this game, and we're "soft" according to some? Not at all. More like not hitting shots that you need to make, then not even shooting the shots you are supposed to shoot, and overall not playing with the intensity and confidence you needed to play with. Rebounding was a problem as well. Costly turnovers in the 3rd quarter also hurt.

I just did not see the same intensity- I mean this team crushed the Grizz without Chris Paul in Memphis earlier in the season. You miss 3's- ok, but come on, you still want to keep attacking on both ends and take the shots you are supposed to take. At least lose the right way, and lose together as a team. The drive and kicks were repeated over and over until the last guy who got the kick out was forced to shoot a desperation shot. That's not exactly great team basketball putting guys in bad position like that. Grizz get the rebound, and they push it the other way....

Strategically there were many issues as well. Did anyone tell Barnes that Prince is LEFT handed? And that was BS nobody came to give a foul on any of the dunks. Prince probably had as many dunks as Blake and DJ combined.

Plus, how the heck did Pondexter get to shoot so many open 3's? And yes, Blake and CP3 should have come in earlier in the 4th. And if there was anything we learned vs Memphis last season in the playoffs, is that you are better off with Blake Griffin guarding Marc Gasol. DJ is not going to be quick enough to challenge the jumper anyway, so Blake would do a much better job staying in front and crowding Gasol. DJ would do way better guarding Z-Bo in the post.

As a coach you want to put the team in the best position to be successful, and unfortunately in this game it simply was not the case.

Yup. He gave Gasol so many wide open jumpers, wide open dunks driving down the line. He also allowed layups and dunks by Prince and Conley.

I can't stand watching his hurt little face looking like "I should be out there". If there's one thing I will TOTALLY back Vinny up on, it's that this guy has no business out there in important stretches when he can't even show up for the 1st Q.

Odom's shooting is hurting us, but his effort puts our $10,000,000 super-athletic center to shame.

I'm honestly tired of this team. Losing respect. Not showing up to one bi game is ok, four in a row is unacceptable. No heart or pride. Maybe it is rude, but did grant hill coming back ruin chemistry?

It's a done deal hawaii. Denver and Memphis are on a BEASTLY tear right now (hottest teams in the league) and are peaking at the perfect time while we are plummeting at the worst time. I see no way in hell we have HCA this year at this point. Unless we suddenly have another big win streak. Memphis has won 14 of 15 and Denver has won something ridiculous like 22 of 25.

Same. I've never had such a love/hate relationship with any other Clippers team in 14 years. This team sometimes is so damn likable but other times I hate their guts for the reasons you said. So much damn talent but ZERO fu**ing heart, pride, grit or resiliency at times.

I agree with this and it's starting to become our calling card now. When we actually DO play aggressively, the officials won't let us anymore. It's our biggest problem.

True those 2 and Miami are the hottest. It's not looking good. As positive ive been this year, we're in trouble unless Denver or Memphis start losing. Fortunately we have an easier schedule then both.

I can't help but to look at the bigger picture here. The scouting report for DJ coming out of college was his immaturity (check) and his low motor/bball IQ and work ethic (check). I think if DJ had been drafted by a team with a very strong winning culture he may have matured faster.

Yes CP3 has helped changed the perception of the Clippers as a team and an organization but i'm sorry to say at its core its likely to be just as dysfunctional as it was sans cp3.

Better question is why did we match GS's offer? DJ has become MAYBE our 7th or 8th best player despite being paid to be our 3rd. I might drive down to Figueroa hotel and burn down his banner myself.

Because he sucks donkey-balls. He sat there and gave Gasol wide-open look after wide-open look. At least Lamar contested.

I thought it was just maychup problems that cost us games against elite teams that can shoot lights out. We had our chance tonight against an elite team that doesn't shoot 3s and is revolved around their big men. That's a good matchup for us. But now we can't even beat a team that is tailor-made for us. This is very concerning.

I saw a very physical game by the Clippers out there. Jumpers didn't fall- and if you don't make at least 1/3 of your 3's against the Grizz, you're in trouble because those guys rebound well and they're going to go the other way on you after you miss. 6 for 26 is not going to cut it.

Also we had many days to prepare for this game- and the "preparation" really sucked ass like we never learned anything from last year.

Randolph ate Lamar up in the forth. At least deandre could grab a rebound.

Lamar can't shoot, rebound, or D up. Deandre isn't great but he couldn't possible do any

Yup. We've got $18,000,000 in cap tied up in 2 players that only show up once every couple of weeks. Caron is hurting us, but not through lack of effort.

DJ looks like nothing more than a lazy bum at this point.

I respect this but can't comfortably say we were physical. We gave up a TON of costly offensive boards and multiple shot attempts. We also allowed a TON of buckets in the paint, dunks, layups. Doesn't feel like we were physical even if we rebounded well.

From what I was watching, Memphis really got under the Clippers skin... no penetration just swining the ball from side to side and rushing shots. The Grizzlies won this game with their defense. The Clippers folded like a cheap suit and thats the damn truth.

Yup. At least Butler never stops playing hard, even when he plays like crap. Plus he's a great teammate and leader who's 33 and on the decline, having had major knee surgery two years ago. What is 24 year old DJ's excuse for declining? For showing up once every 10 games?

I disagree. Our preparation looked excellent in the 1st Q. Although the defense wasn't great, we were scoring at will on the best defensive team in the league.

Crooked officiating didn't allow us to play physically at all. I agree about the rebounding, but whose responsibility is that? Surely our $10,000,000 center should grab more than 2 boards over a less athletic guy... even in 20 minutes.

Odom got 8... even CP3 had 3.

As I said before it was widely known by nba scouts before the draft that DJ was immature, had a questionable work ethic and motor.

Yeah I agree that we should NOT have allowed those dunks. You have to at least put them at the foul line. Guys were concerned about foul trouble too much. And allowing guys to blow past you like that so easily in the first place is unacceptable. Poor scouting, poor player execution & poor communication.
