Lakers are surging and currently sit 2 games behind the Warriors for the number 6 spot. If we can hang on to the 3 spot and the Lakers sneak into #6, we can look forward to playing 8 on 5 starting with round 1. Still think we take them out, but the matchup would be great for the city!

I'd rather play the Lakers than the Nuggets, Warriors or Grizzlies in round 1. Bring it on.

i do not want to play them in the playoffs

1) kobe is another animal in the playoffs especially with all this momentum they have

2) it will be their homecourt every game

3) if we lose, i'll never ever hear the end of it from laker fans

No, let's pray they fall into the hands of either OKC or SAS.

im actually scared of playing you guys in the playoffs. I want the Lakers to avoid the clippers as long as they can. Id much rather play the spurs who we match up well against. I think the clippers on the other hand might be stuck because you guys are probably going to end up with either nuggets or memphis.

Lakers are starting to worry me. They're getting hot at the right time and they seem to have found a formula that's working for them. Plus, you know Kobe remembers the games from earlier this season. He would like nothing more than to show the Clippers who's city it really is. Heck, even that April 7 game is making me nervous.

If this happens it will be epic. LA VS LA.

Now, kobe mayb. another animal in playoffs but you forget our caged animal. Cp will be up for everygame.

Its not the lakers surging, its the warriors, rockets, and utah giving them life.

I hope we get the Fakers. I don't know why the media and all their fake fans are getting all excited. Their last 15 games, they are 11-5 but here's the breakdown:

  1. We smash them by 24!

  2. They beat an injured Celtic team on the 2nd night of a back to back.

  3. Had to come from behind to beat Portland at home.

  4. Barely win @Dal.

  5. They get smashed at Denver.

  6. They beat up on Minnesota.

  7. 1 point win at home vs. ATL.

  8. They get smashed in OKC.

  9. Down 25 in NO and needed a miracle just to win.

  10. Needed another miracle at home vs Toronto in OT.

  11. Beat up a tired Bulls team.

  12. Beat ORL thanks to 39 FTA for Dwight.

  13. Lose @ ATL.

  14. Win in Indy (only solid win).

  15. Beat Sac with a little scare.

This is not impressive at all. They beat bad teams and got smashed by good teams.

I want this matchup!!!

Clippers and Lakers are both 11-4 out of their last 15 games (that's 22-8 for the city of Los Angeles)

Not exactly. At the LAL games it's 100% LAL. For us maybe 50% depending on how many STH sell their tickets. We have to yell loud. My problemis that I can't bring in a weapon to defend myself against those drunk fat assed baldheaded cholos. If I wore red and blue to an LAL game I would need a police escort.

We forget LAL was a team predicted to possibly take it all and D12 and Kobe are on the same page.. They are surging and we are dumping. Their starter are better than ours but our their bench is non existant. DJ will get torched. The next game with them will tell a lot about the PO's If we lose I'm really worried. If we win I feel good. It shows we have grit.

Unfortunately we may be #4 the way we're playing

I don't understand. Those are called Wins. Sorry but what are called miracles I call Kobe Bryant. We lost to OKC, Miami, GSW, Memphis, SAS. Our wins are unimpressive too. Nash is deadly from three as is Kobe. We can't defend threes. They beat Indiana more or less without Kobe and won today without him.

Lawler said he thought LAL would be #6. If they fight their way from bottom feeders to #6 we will have problems because their confidence is surging.

We must bring our A+ game and are ready to be really physical and get bad calls. VND should not shorten the rotation to eight. Use what we have to physically wear them down. We will have to always have to have someone fresh to guard Kobe. Billups won't do. Barnes/Hill. Make him play defense if possible. He's guarded CP3. Who else can guard him on LAL? Nobody Make him work Except Kobe who can guard EBled? BG has problems with MWP but Blake is better than earlier. Beat the **** out of Gasol. They can't guard Jamal.

We will win only IF WE WANT IT MORE THAN KOBE

The only chance the lakers beat us is if Kobe plays like Jordan (unlikely), AND refs help then out (very likely). I wish the clippers season ticket holders don't sell their tickets to laker fans. Frick, it's probably going to be all road games for us. But we're clearly the better team. In a 7 game series, most likely the better team wins unless the other team gets lucky.

That team wins here and there, but their defense is one of the worst I've ever seen. We'll run all over them, home court or no home court.

This is true dont underestimate The Lakers come playoff time they are really different now and i hate people telling this is a BS concern. We cannot compare that we beat the lakers in the season game it will be a different ballgame came playoffs and i think all the homecourt game belong to Lakers.

yup, the Lakers do not really have the outside perimeter offense that typically can kills us, whereas the warriors, Denver, and to a lesser extent memphis do.

with a current record of 3-0 against the Lakers we should all be crossing our fingers for this matchup

Clippers can beat anyone at home,,,we wouldn't be at home for this series.

As A STH I can see the quandary. My seats will cost me 40 dollars each for the first round. A faker fan will pay 500 for that seat. can you see the problem many STH will have,,,dumb fans that will sell a kidney to see their team.

Still would rather play them then the Nuggets.

Home court doesnt matter for a series against the Lakers. Lakers fans would buy all the tickets. The reason why I feel confident about a matchup against our crosstown rival is that they have no outside shooters like Denver, Memphis, GSW, and OKC have. We can win that series

I think homecourt is more about being comfortable, sleepin in your own bed, & not traveling. If you can't handle crowd noise... go home.

This. My group has already discussed the real possibility of selling every game if we played the lakers to be able to pay for like 60-100% of next years season package.

About a 10% probability we face the Lakers. If that's a "real possibility" for some, ok then. I'll take those odds every time that we don't, lol. It'll be either Houston or GSW IMO.

Why even talk about this? Fakers are closer to being out of the playoffs than the 6th seed.

In fact, with their loss and a Utah win, they'll be 9th.

Why do people praise the Nuggets as the Dark Horse team to win it all but all they do is Lobs and fast breaks but when we do it we are known as a terrible playoff team because we don't have a half court offense. Gotta love the media.

I love your posts tense, you're great. I'd also love to see the algorithm you used to get this percentage. I think the chances we play them are a lot less today than they were a few days ago. Kobe's out and the Suns just smoked em. They're going to even more sporadic than they were before with Kobe playing great, and they're only a game up on utah right now. Id say they have a 45% chance of even making the playoffs. (50/50 they make it minus 5% bc Utah has the tie breaker) Thats good math!

In regards to the OP and the title of the thread.. There is also a very real possibility that we play Golden State, Houston, Memphis, Denver or Utah as well. All those are more likely teams that we would play than the lakers. If you include the lakers to that list there are 6 teams that we have a "Very real possibility" to play in the playoffs. 6 out of 15 western conference teams. Dont get too excited yet, but it doesnt seem very likely that we will play the lakers, although there is a possibility.

And while we are talking possibilities there is a possibility that dallas or portland wins out and gets in the mix of teams that we could play. That makes 8 teams that we possibly could play haha. Basically there is a possibility that we could play more than half of the teams in the west depending on how things work out. Possibilities and math are awesome!!!!!

There are possibilities and there are probabilities.

Its more probable that we'll play Memphis or Denver as the 4th or 5th seed. Its also probable that we play The Lakers or Golden State or Houston as the 3rd seed. That's it. We're not playing Utah. We're not playing Dallas or Portland.

Out of all those teams, we have a much better chance against the Lakers, GSW, or Houston than Memphis or Denver. These next 15 games matter A LOT.

Aren't they awesome? I only bring it up because a hallway series would be pretty cool. Apparently some people around here aren't too excited about it, but I can't remember a hallway series between the two teams in the playoffs in my lifetime and I think it would be awesome for the city.

I'd love to get the Lakers. I'd stick Matt Barnes and Bledsoe on Kobe EVERY DAMN SECOND HE'S ON THE FLOOR.

I'd foul Dwight Howard non stop. I'd start my entire bench that sucks, Turiaf, Hollins etc and tell them to beat the tar out of him. Make that punk go to the line. Make them win the game with free throws.

CP3 will eat Nash alive and they have no answer to the speeding bullet that is Bledsoe.

After we pound the Lakers in FOUR GAMES, we'll be well rested to take on whoever is next.

I dont see it happening anymore though. The Lakers w/out Kobe look very bad. I doubt they can reach the 6th seed, and i doubt we will get ahead of OKC or San Antonio for the 1st or 2nd seed

The Lakers without Kobe had their two best games of the year before getting blasted last night. With or without Kobe they are very inconsistent.

The lakers are a class below GSW and HOU... they're 50/50 just to grab the 8 spot in my opinion. It'll end up being the least worst team of LAL, UTA, POR and DAL.

I still wouldn't want to see them, though. We'd win the series easily, but we all know how dirty they get when they're being embarrassed... especially in Staples. Just ask the Mavs.

I'd rather we hold onto the 3 and take our chances with the Dubs. Their hot shooting will blow us out in one game and they may squeak out another win, but we'd take them in no more than 6 games. The lakers can take out their frustrations on OKC or SAS... let's see how THEY do when they're all banged up in round 2.
