15 assists is worth 30 - 35 points. CP3 isn't the problem.

Lack of Defensive strategy and intensity is the problem.

Somewhere in between, I'd say. Seems like CP3 gets blown by quite regularly lately forcing the help to come, then everyone's scrambling. He's also very easily screened off his rotation to the corner shooter.

The strategic issue is our gambling with double-teams far away from the basket, but mostly it is the intensity.

@grillinnap, odom is a legit 6'10, 230-235 guy. began as a sf, but now is more of a pf. turiaf is closer to 6'9 245, and a much worse offensive threat with butterfingers. he seems to always fumble the ball. if anything, id rather have hollins in at times, instead of turiaf. for one, he is 7'0 and is long and athletic. tonight turiaf was in civilian clothes, so not much argument is needed to say hollins should have been in the game

Of course he's not the problem, but maybe he's not the answer we all thought he was. I know CP is a different animal during the playoffs and lately all my hope is clinging onto that. I think Blake may be our best player, he gives 110% every night and leads our team in points and rebounds and is 2nd in assists and 3rd in steals while shooting 55%

I'm obviously taking my anger out on CP because he's supposed to be our leader and recently he's leading us to mediocrity.

Turiaf is still the stronger guy than Odom. Turiaf has played the 4 and the 5 in his entire career so he is used to playing against the big guys.

I think Odom is done. Stick a fork in him. Wish VDN would just end his infatuation with him.

The guys were in control and just absolutely lost it the final 2/3 of the 4th. They just stopped playing THEIR game and instead rushed shots, settled for jumpers, constantly fouled the Kings on the other end, and just made tons of mistakes in general. The home team got confident, got the lead, kept on firing & hit a sh*tload of 3's and the game was over. It's what can happen on the road when you are not playing smart. You want Tyreke Evans to shoot a jumper- not drive past you a hundred times. You don't want to get frustrated and start to commit techs and stupid fouls down the stretch. You do not want to leave Marcus Thornton open. Nor do you want to leave a guy open who is hot and has already hit several 3's. Just uncharacteristically dumb basketball by the Clippers in the 4th quarter.

Since Bledsoe went down, the second unit has been a shell of its former self. There was a point earlier in the season when we thought heck the second unit could well beat the starters 50% of the time when they go head to head. Not anymore- the second unit is a liability more often than naught lately, and was a liability tonight. Other than Matt Barnes and Jamal Crawford, the remaining bench guys have been inconsistent to say the least. Even Barnes and J-Crossover are very streaky shooters. Barnes at least gives you solid D and rebounding even when his shots are not falling. Without Bledsoe to put his impact on the second unit, the bench guys defensively overall have been mediocre and offensively have been below-par.

And with Chauncey going down, CP3 was forced to play too many minutes. That probably had a little to do with his poor shooting and 7 turnovers. It's just a domino effect how injuries can really mess up a team. But it's part of the game and the best teams learn to adjust. I certainly hope that Bledsoe gets healthy soon- and if not, the guys learn to adjust better.

I missed tonight's game. I hope Big Shot isn't hurt badly. We are lacking PGs with just CP3 and Wayns. Hope Bledsoe can come back already. We miss him badly.

After looking at the stats, once again our 3pt defense sucked. 14-28 3's = loss. Man, I'm disappointed.

Offense isn't the problem, it's defense!

Btw who the hell was guarding Thornton? 6/10 3's? Was it one of those games that the defense was pretty good and we should just tip our hats to him? Or was it terrible defense?

For the most part agree. 3pt defense is a joke. But our half court offense throughout the season has been inconsistent at times.

This CP3 flop kind of sums up the night. Can't believe he pulled this crap.

do you ever post anything with significance? Looking through your posts you don't sound like a Clipps fan

Btw, Tyreke Evans shot 4-13 tonight, I think you meant to say 'Marcus Thornton and Toney Douglas were ''beast'' tonight.

WTF are you talking about? I don't have to be a clipper nut hugger like you. Get a grip on reality, Stan. I bet you did go through all my posts like a f'n loser.

BTW, Tyreke was breaking everybody down off the dribble. Getting to the rack at will. B E A S T I N G.

Get off my nuts.

be glad you didnt watch it. I watched it up until we had 4 minutes leftin the fourth the kings kept draining threes and i knew the game was over. Sometimes you can tell when the other team is going to win by the rate they hit the three ball

Yeah, it has been inconsistent. But our defense sure has been consistent...consistently bad at defending the 3.

We have looked very average after our 17 game win streak

What the heck was that? Like a phantom punch- LOL. I think the Clippers were too focused on trying to get Cousins thrown out or whatever and get calls and it affected their play. Also when the Kings were trying to foul DJ intentionally- guys just lost it and started chucking up crazy shots thinking that they are drawing a foul.

That's the wrong focus. Play your game and win the right way.

Yep, we've played like a 6-7 seed team. The worst part is that that streak doesn't seem enough to keep us from finishing with a top 4 seed.

One thing I noticed...and please do not consider this a slam on Blake because I'm not even sure this is his fault...the play at the end of the half (or was it the 3rd quarter). We have a few seconds left on the clock. Blake has the ball and is running it along the sidelines. Rather than take the last second shot himself, he passes it?

Why?

There's no doubt in my mind in his rookie year he would have taken the shot. Because he wouldn't have deferred to another player (especially while EJ was injured). Perhaps it was drawn up by Vinny that way...in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was based on past coaching plays. But maybe we need Blake to become a slightly more selfish player. Say, "wait a minute...I'M the leading scorer on this team. I'M the biggest matchup problem for other teams. I'M gonna will this shot in!"

Anyway, just an observation. It doesn't solve our defense problems, but still...

The irony here is I thought the game got away from us when we started to get too happy shooting 3's ourselves. We started to get momentum, I think even took the lead. I guess in an effort to break the game open, Paul kept passing to the 3 point shooters instead of feeding the inside guys. I swear there were moments Blake was in good position in the paint and Paul dished to a perimeter player instead. But we started missing those shots, which completely took the wind out of our sails. We didn't even need the 3's at that point. I really do think that sequence of events was huge for the outcome.

Sorry I'm late on this, but WOW.

That's pretty disgraceful. And it's one of our biggest problems. Not so much the flopping, but our whole relationship with the refs. We complain so much when we get fouled. Every shot we (and probably ever other player in the NBA does this) shout "AND 1" even if we don't get touched. And now our leader leaves his dignity at the door and pulls one of the phoniest flops in history?

Lame. I hope he gets fined sufficiently by the league and becomes the star of the next episode of Shaq'tin the Fool!
