Worst part of this loss is we've been exposed again! Teams are watching this game and already has a game plan to beat us. Take the ball out of CP's hands and let other players beat them. Tonight, Blake/Butler/Crawford/Barnes played like crap. They combined to shoot 17/51 or a woeful 33%!

DJ and Odom played well but dumbass VDN didn't play them down the stretch and OT.

Even the last play of regulation, why wasn't DJ in to guard the paint. Butler just stood there and watched Mayo lay the ball in.

You're contradicting yourself... nothing was "exposed".

Sure they successfully shut down CP3 in the last few minutes, but only with double-teams and at the expense of leaving wide-open shooters. If just one of the other 4 guys you mentioned even hits their average FG%, we win... simple as that.

I'll take those odds every time.

Of course they were exposed. It just shows how no one else on the team can make a play. Once CP passed it out, they settled for 3s. It's a 4 on 3 advantage and they kept on bricking 3s instead of attacking the rim. Blake didn't even touch the ball let alone take a shot.

I posted late in the game to try Willie or Bledsoe instead of Crawford or Butler.

My main point is CP with the ball is our whole offense. If he doesn't have it, we're mediocre at best.

^ Crawford and Barnes went to the rim a couple of times late and were bumped on their shots. If the refs don't call that stuff, what's the option? You make plays to get open jumpers. We did that and ALL of our shooters were laying bricks. Like I said, if 4 out of 5 guys can't get a call in the paint OR make an uncontested shot, you can't win.

Fortunately, it doesn't happen often.

On the plus side, I expect Jamal to go off tomorrow. He rarely stinks it up in consecutive games. Gotta take care of business in NOLA and then make up for this debacle with a win in San Antonio. I was expecting a 3-1 trip, 2-2 at worst. Gotta win out to salvage a decent trip. Denver's upcoming schedule is worse than ours, so hope is not lost.

^ Also kinda funny to hear laker fans yelling "conspiracy" about Dirk's game-winning flop... as if the whole world revolves around them.

Yeah laker fans were actually cheering for us for a change. Dirks flop was ridiculous though. All 3 TNT analysts said he flopped, acted and the refs shouldn't have made the call.

Dang that was just really bad execution and decision making down the stretch. Everything was a jumpshot- not a single post up play. The 3's were falling early which was great, but then guys just fell in love with them and kept on chucking despite all the bricks. The offense just became way to predictable- dribble, kick, dribble kick, swing the ball. No cutting, no easy baskets, and ultimately that spelled the doom for the team tonight. I mean Blake Griffin pretty much became a spectator in the 4th and the OT. He was just out there drifting around the top of the key, knowing nobody is going to pass him the ball in the post. Unreal- I mean you have a max player out there just pretty much setting screens and dumping the ball off to guys outside the arc? He is setting screens and then drifting away from the basket....

As a head coach, you have to draw up some plays to get you some easy baskets instead of all the settling for jump shots. Or put out some mandate to stop jacking up the dumb shots, or take the guys taking the stupid shots out of the game. Jamal was obviously struggling- you can't leave him in there like that if he keeps hurting you. Put in Willie Green or Eric Bledsoe for goodness sake. Especially in this game- down the stretch in regulation, you are ahead, so why not just at least sub some defensive guys in there? It was just ridiculous and hard to watch. Terrible loss. All the 1 on 1 sh*t just had me wanting gauge my eyes out.

Here's the mistake on the last defensive play in regulation, IMO:

Look at Chris. He gave Mayo enough space to attack the basket. Shouldn't he have moved a little bit to his left to trap Mayo? Barnes was already there to cover the other side.

Great screen cap there. That was just terrible defense.

I wish we had the replacement refs when the old refs couldn't get an agreement settled from a couple years back. Hopefully, with David Stern out of the picture, there would be no more crooked officiating. And yes, I do believe the league was involved with the Tim Donaghue situation. I hope Stern and the league gets prosecuted to the fullest.

we need some reliable shooters out there. If we still had Mo Williams or Nick Young, we'd win. Our shooters are streaky at best. Our bigs have no post up game and can't shoot free throws. What type of offense are you going to build around that? I don't blame CP for going one on one, he almost won the game for us.

He totally f***ed up on mayo at the end of reg. That was the game right there.

Agree, too much 1 on 1 in the half court game. Definitely not enough post touches for blake considering the junk interior defense of the mavs.

Our half court offense strategy isn't very good.

Grizz/Nuggs both play the Knicks/Spurs later on tonight.

We'll be back in that 3 seed in no time.

1 Dallas played well not like bottom feeders. They played like a strong PO team

2 Even though he bricked the last shot Matt could never be blamed for losing a game he contributes so much. As I've said before he's the guy I feel bad for when we lose

3 ISO ISO ISO. Every time VDN runs one he should have to wear a dunce cap. Vinnie there are only two types of offense Isos and ones that win games. Pick one.

4 I never complain about officiating (but then again I've been known to lie). I used to take the game fixing stuff as seriously as I took Sarah Palin's intellect. Then maybe she should be a ref. She'd make as many or fewer bad calls but her bad calls would be because she doesn't understand the game

5 We can't win without BG getting 20 ish ppg. Please learn to play with your back to the hoop. Good job on Dick or is that Dirk

6 If Billups is back keeping the ball out of CP's hands won't cause such a problem. CP can play SG

  1. Odom must of fallen into a BIG cowpie in Dallas because he stunk

  2. Is Bledsoe still hurt? Not getting him more minutes will hurt us. He's a viable threat and changes the flavor of the offense when he's in.

  3. When we needed a three point shooter why was Barnes in instead of Green? Crawford, CP, Caron WILLIE and Blake or Hollns. Willie needs minutes just for that reason

10 Chauncey would have hit the shot Matt missed.

11 The physicality of a game is determined by the coach. When there is a no dunk" rule make extra sure BG or DJ get a dunk.

12 Where was Kaman? He and Brand would have been good together. Is EB a FA? Maybe Palin and CK ought to hunt moose together

If one is called a goose and several are geese. If one is a moose then several should be called -----

4 hrs of sleep will do this to your brain

TOO HIP'S SIQUE (pronounced sick)PLAYER OF THE GAME Drum roll please

DeAndre Jordan. The spin move around Dirk was a thing of beauty. He got good position a lot. He quietly got 11 boards No Dunks. The beginnings of a post game.

Mo Williams? possibly, but Nick Young is a no go he didnt have the shooting ability we needed. But you're right about one thing our shooters are streaky at best. I was really upset with Donald Sterling for not going through with the Butler for Ariza trade, hes the biggest culprit of them all

Repped High Quality Post

If you all are going to complain about the officiating EVERY GAME, because lets face it, EVERY GAME has unbalanced officiating...........then stop watching!!

The officials and the calls have always and will always be unbalanced, one sided and unfair.

You're complaints and whining are not going to change the outcome.

Instead of blaming the refs......

how about not shooting 33 three pointers, or going 16-25 on free throws, or comitting 17 turn overs, or allowing 48 points in the paint.

This team has to take some sort of accountability.

Exactly, we finally had a game where we defended the three pretty well, but no one outside of Chris Paul was making any shots they were so cold, and about 2 times we allowed long unanswered runs by Dallas 13-3 on one occasion and something like 10-2 in another.

We brought this on ourselves and at the end of the day Dallas isnt a playoff team they are 10th in the west. I could excuse this sort of game against San Antonio or OKC but against Dallas?

It was a terrible loss, and the worst thing about it is that we did well defending the three point shots, we just couldnt make anything on offense

Did you guys catch this on the tnt broadcast. At the end of the game we called a timeout and our team was standing talking to themselves to come up with a play. Mostly CP3 and Crawford were coming up with something. Vinny poked his head in to see what was going on and what they were coming up with. I just started laughing because it was so funny to see a head coach have nothing drawn up in such a crucial time. Vinny has nothing to add to this team and our players know it. They are coaching themselves a lot out there.

Agreed. But one thing's for sure. I'd take 48 points inside the paint over 12-15 3s. We only gave up 6 last night. It's not an accident that we had chances to win this game while we stand no chance to win games in which we give up a bunch of 3s.
