Sure, he's a Clipper fan. Great for him. I personally don't like many of his movies, and it's nice once and awhile they show we have a movie star at games but the last couple years, and a lot this year he's been on ESPN and it's really bothering me. Where is Penny Marshall at? I'd rather see Clipper Darrell on ESPN than Billy Crystal at this point. I guarantee he's on ESPN again during the playoffs at some point talking about our team like he's the biggest Clipper fan out there.

Where was he from 2007-2012? He is using us and the team to try to resurrect his career. Frankie Muniz was a way better fan.

Frankie still is. He regularly tweets about us.. just can't go to games due to busy schedule apparently. I don't think he lives in LA right now.

Oh, hell no! You don't question Billy Crystal. He and Ralph and Lawler have been 2 of the most constant things of this franchise for the past decade plus.

"Where was he from 2007-2012?" He's been one of the most loyal Clippers fans. I bet you, y'all wouldn't be questioning him if the Clippers were having another crappy season. So why are we criticizing him now, just because the team's doing well. If you're going to point the finger, you should point it at Blake Griffin, who hasn't had double digit rebounds in the last 8 rebounds.

But, really? Blame Billy Crystal? Y'all need to find something else to waste your time with.

Actually make that 1 double digit rebound game in the last 12. No offense, Blake, but that's f-ing pathetic. He's needs to put on his big boy pants and play like he's worth that huge contract we're paying him.

Yeah, Crystal was basent during our lottery years in the late 2000s. Matthew Lillard is a true Clipper fan, though.

here's billy sitting at a non-televised game during the 90's and 00's (not counting playoff years):

the guy claims he wasnt at the games because he lives in new york, but ever since CP showed up, traveling seems that much easier. google "billy crystal clippers" and you'll find tons of pictures of him in clipper playoff gear. believe me, i went to my fair share of clipper games at the sports arena and billy was always missing. he wasnt there to cheer on dan dickau either. dude used to be a laker fan before he decided he could make a name for himself as the face of the NBA's laughing stock - after all, he's a comedian. humoring himself is good for business.

winning = team gets more relevant= more television time = an opportunity for billy crystal to use the spotlight for himself. dont get me wrong, i do think he's a genuine fan of the squad (just like anyone else), but for him to be labeled as the jack nicholson of the clippers would be grossly inacurrate.

michael clarke duncan (RIP), frankie muniz, kadeem hardison, and rondell sheridan are all legit.

in an interview with ESPN, frankie muniz set the record straight:

http://espn.go.com/page2/s/questions/muniz.html

"3. How would you rank yourself in the hierarchy of celebrity serious Clippers fans? As far as we can tell, there's you, Kadeem Hardison and Billy Crystal. Who would you say is the most knowledgeable of the three?

Muniz: Me! Billy Crystal was, but he moved back to New York, so he doesn't count anymore.

3a. He's kind of a bandwagon fan.

Muniz: He only comes out when they're playing the good teams, when they're playing the Lakers. Kadeem's always here, and I think he's been here for like eight years, so he's a huge fan. Maybe he's No. 1, I'm No. 2."

This right here.... Lol at peeps finding things to be upset about. Not everyone shows support or "fandom" the same way... Just because he is rich and famous doesn't mean he should be sitting court-side EVERY game, especially when investing so much money in a horribly ran franchise for all those years. He's human after all and probably got tired of throwing his money away. I don't blame him for not being there and that shouldn't make him less of a fan than you or I. So he wasn't there for all those years... Big deal, at least you can say you were and more power to you. Look how many of us became emotionally drained and upset these last couple of games. I know for sure that put a damper on my weekend.

Know why he's there now? Because all throughout the season except for recently, we were damn exciting and entertaining to watch hence being the hottest ticket in town. I don't know how much court-side cost now but best believe that he is there because he now has a reason to. To him and more importantly, to us it is worth every penny to be there and watch our long suffering franchise put a winning product on display.

Another thing to those talking about Penny Marshall , do you know she attends Laker games as well? At least for tonight's game she did. Shaq personally gave her a shout out at his retirement of his jersey during half time and none other than Penny Marshall herself was there, dressed in yellow. I am not one to question her fanhood of the Clips but let's keep things in perspective here. Heck, even Jack Nicholson himself was seen at our games during 06 playoff run. lol At the end of day, we are all fans who want nothing more than to be the first to see our team hoist up that trophy.

I love you all... Very Happy wink

Billy Crystal has been there through thick and thin. The only reason why he's relevant because THE CLIPPERS ARE(were) WINNING!!! During the Baron Davis era, the camera would point at Billy Crystal almost every other game.

NO,,,I'm not. I like Billy,,do not like Penny at all (she is there to make herself seem relevant)

Off subject,,he had a one man show called 1000 Saturdays or something like that (stage show),,,I swear I never ever laughed that hard at anything in my life ever,,,and I wasn't even using my medicine if you get my drift.

Billy has been there through thick and thin yet you have someone who has been to countless games on here stating he never saw Billy there at all. Even Frankie Muniz said Billy only shows up when they play good teams.

If your not getting much work as an actor in the golden years of your life, are worth an estimated 35 million or more according to online sources, why aren't you at games? With how much he says he loves the team and how much he loves certain players, where was he at when we were winning 20 games a year? Apparently not there from personal accounts.

Can't say any of this surprises me about Billy, he's ok but normally yes (according to the initial question) I am sick of seeing him. Good for him he gets to sit court side. I have and it is awesome, I would watch any crappy team if I was on the floor. My problem with Billy and maybe its just him, (and me being a Yankee Fan). But back in the day he would always tell this story of what a big Yankee fan he was and that he saw Mantle play, yadda yadda yadda. Then in one of his movies, "Shitty Slickers" he wears an f'ng Mets hat. Now, I know most of you are saying so f'ng what? but as a true Yankee fan you'd never wear a Mets garbage hat. It would be like someone saying their a Dodgers fan and wearing a Giants hat when they are the feature star in a movie. Point is he's a typical Hollywood phoney, so good for him he sits court side, I just don't want to hear how he's such a great fan.

I'm with Amnesty and ekker on this one. During the lean times I'd only ever see Billy at the nationally televised games. Malcolm in the middle and Michael Clarke Duncan were always there, slumming it on primeticket against the Bobcats.

Nobody's saying he's not (or isn't allowed to be) a fan, but he's hardly the "rain or shine" diehard that himself and the media paint him as.

i know frankie muniz tweets about us, but if we are going to criticize crystal for missing some games, then why has muniz been away from staples? he has money, he can afford to come to clippers games, even from phoenix. the way i see it is that crystal is not the die hard clips fan he claims to be, but hes a good fan who seems to enjoy the flakers losing. thats good enough foe me. lol

Here the way I look at it. We're ALL fans, no matter what. From Billy Crystal to Clipper Darrel to us. We all have one common and that is we root for the Clips. So I find it funny how people are judging how hardcore can they be, but in the end we're still fans.
