I mean the last 3 games Vinny's been going to CP3+Bledsoe for most of the 4th quarters and it's been HUGE in turning games around completely. They are just so damn tenacious on defense as a duo. I know most Clippers fans have been yelling at their TV's for this all year long and now we should all be feeling pretty vindicated because this is one of the issues almost all Clippers fans seem to agree on.

I don't get why this wasn't done earlier but what's done is done. Going forward though in the playoffs I think Bledsoe+CP3 should start in the backcourt. I think they will demolish the Grizzlies who can't stop that duo one bit.

We lose ballhandling/playmaking for the second unit. I don't want Jamal or Willie running point. It's not about who starts, it's about who finishes. Vinny seems to be getting things right, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I agree Vinny deserves props. I guess it's better late than never haha. Although I think Billups should take backup PG spot playoff time with Bledsoe starting.

Willie's been awesome no doubt, so this isn't me complaining about him at all. I just think at the very least Bledsoe+CP3 should play the 1st and 4th quarter together. Green can have 2nd and 3rd quarters.

The answer is and will always be...no.

The kid brings energy. we all saw it last night. we saw it again today. when this team needs a burst he brings it.

Plain and simple, ebled is back and should be coming off bench

Big question what happens when Billups comes back does Willie go back into the basement?

No but he should play more in the 4th and more in certain matchups. He has been very good for us against the Grizzlies and the Spurs. Willie have been playing great for us and spreads the floor better.

You guys bring up great points. Maybe starting isn't the issue as much as it's him not getting enough minutes next to Paul at SG. Willie can start, Bledsoe should get some SG minutes in 4th quarters. As for the question about Billups.. he should be used 10-15 minutes a game off the bench max every night. With the way Bledsoe and Green are playing now it's totally out of line and unfair to keep pulling their minutes for a guy who plays 1-2 games then gets injured again.

keep willie, or Bled can start at the sg spot and let Billups be the PG for the second unit. Feel bad for Willie though, dude deserves to play.

Remember what happened when CP went down? Our starters weren't bad but our 2nd unit was garbage without Bledsoe. If it ain't broke...

I think its best if Willie still starts. I like Bledsoe's energy and spark off the bench. But Bledsoe and CP3 play together more often throughout the game and especially in the 4th.

Do we still need Billups I mean how many games did he play this season, Green is doing well, I don't think he is still here next season. I Bledsoe will start. Wayns look good in his few games.

Willie is playing great! What a good guy and teammate. Chauncey needs to be like a coach. We don't need him if he is a shell of himself

To answer the question- no- IMO. Synergy of the second unit is excellent, so you just don't want to mess with that. Willie has also been doing very well starting for Chauncey, so I'd leave that alone too for now.

Even when Chauncey gets back, it can be argued that he can play point for the second unit. But we've seen it for enough games to notice that it's not nearly as effective as it would seem on paper. For some reason, too many turnovers result. And let's say you have Jamal and Willie in the second unit- who is going to play point? Jamal can create for others, but it's not his forte. I've seen him throw the ball away too many times when being the PG. He is just so much better on the move and going 1-on-1.

And part of having a successful team is putting your players in the best position to succeed. So far, so good for Vinny.

i love billups and its hard for me to say this but billups inability to stay healthy has been devastating to chemistry. Green is nowhere near the talent billups is but has been very healthy and able to stay on the team. I have to go with green over billups...cant bank on a guy who misses so many games. Love you chauncey but do the right thing. Take a coaching position and let green handle it from here on out

Our 2-spot is a problem. Start Crawford and there's not enough firepower in the second unit. Bring him off the bench and Willie Green just isn't suited to face most starting 5's. Start Bledsoe and the main bench catalyst is gone. We saw what happened when Bledsoe started at point. Someone must have told him to calm down and spread his energy out, and that took him away from his regular lethal game.

Chauncey with the second unit was a disaster. He doesn't have the fire in his belly. I don't think he'll come off the bench just because he's Chauncey. He's a guy who can win a game at crunch. we haven't factored Hill into the equation. If plays like he played tonight he's valuable.

Unfortunately Bledsoe isn't allowed to shoot enough, I don't know why.

Chauncey--PO experience, good PG clutch shooter no defense slow Not a SG

Jamal instant offense so so defense Depending, may lose minutes to Billups if Jamal is cold. He's streakey sometimes

Willie Three point shots. Solid player We have our starting SG next yr

Barnes is Barnes Will get minutes

Hill great defender. Plays like a PG shooting??

EB Defense energy Three point shooter? Not ready to start. Willie and CB more in control. Will he ever be able to start as a PG soon? Don't know

Bottom line Billups will have to accept fewer minutes

You're asking for trouble in the first quarter if Bledsoe is the starting 2 guard. He has no outside shooting (yet), so the defense can just happily double team Blake every time. At least Willie can knock down shots.

We should see more minutes for Bledsoe in the closing minutes of the 4th, though.

The way this team is currently built you can't start Bledsoe. However next season you bring in a quality backup PG and you can start Bledsoe.

This is my take on the situation. Whatever powers that be decided the starting lineup is

PG: Chris Paul

SG: Chauncey Billups

C: Deandre Jordan

PF :Blake Griffin

SF: Caron Butler

That lineup (with the exception of Green coming in for Billups because of injury). Has been a static lineup. In my opinion we have the deepest team in the league, and we should start players depending on matchups. I think whoever we play we hold a certain advantage of diversity. For example, Bledsoe plays better defense than Chris Paul and is more athletic. If we played a team like the spurs why not insert Bledsoe to purposely speed up the tempo and tire out tony parker. Then Put PAul in to have a well rested advantage over Parker. Or for example, if we need better ball movement remove Deandre and insert Lamar, who is a much better passer. The possibilities are endless with this team , and i do wish we would use this diversity more to our advantage.

I like Bledsoe, and sometimes he and Paul sharing the backcourt is the best combination at the time. Memphis and their great rebounding is a classic example. It's great to have another rebounder in the guard position against those guys as we know our bigs have their hands full.

However, I think it's important to have a deep threat starting at SG. And the way Willie has been playing lately is ideal. Now that Caron is injured (and hasn't been shooting well last couple of games), it's all the more critical we have perimeter shooter in the starting lineup. I understand Bledsoe has hit from deep, but do we really trust his jumper? I'm not sure I do....not yet, anyway.

Billups has been a problem. It's bullshit that Vinny is so submissive to the seniority on the team and not who's EARNED minutes. Never did I think I'd be defending Green but Billups needs to come off the bench, not start. Green has outplayed him.

Billups coming back at this point is a detriment. The team is doing fine, and especially Willie. We just cant have this in and out o the lineup from billups. Everytme he's out the entire machine gets changed

He has been good from the 3 point range. If theres two players I want to retain from this years squad it certainly is Barnes and Green. Barnes at 2-3 mill per year and willie green at the vets minimum should do well. I would even be inclined to say offer Green up to 1.5 mill per year since he has been so dependable

Willie's become Foye 2.0 for us all the sudden in the last month. Where he's our best 3 point shooter easily and just does a lot of little things to help us win games. Not to mention he's been the ULTIMATE professional and teammate just like Foye was. It's unfair to keep jerking him in and out of the lineup. If you really feel sorry for him like you say Chauncey then volunteer to come off the damn bench yourself.

Willie Green is a super steal at the vet min. I have no clue why people want him gone. How many players shoot 43% from 3 for the vet min? Not to mention he does not complain about minutes, can cut and can play somewhat decent D.

Matt Barnes is an even bigger steal. I want to keep both of them even if we have to sign them to slightly larger contracts.

Who wanted Willie gone? I loved the signing since he shot 44% from 3PT range last season as a Hawk and would be making peanuts. There's no harm in cheap and useful players. Basically he was capable of doing most of what Foye does on the court except making much less.

The two advantages Chanucey does have that you don't want to overlook are 1) Chauncey draws fouls, he knows how to draw them and 2) Chauncey is one of the few players whose scoring efficiency stays the same in the post season as it does in the playoffs. Career .581 TS%, playoffs .580 TS%.

In 08-09, he led all players in post-season TS% at .664 TS%(over 16 games) after having a RS .592 TS%. He won't shoot a high FG% (because he takes a lot of three's), but he will take a and make a lot of three's and attempt and make a lot of FT's. In his 20 games this season, he's at .597 TS% and 3.8 FTA/36 mins. There is value to what he brings offensively in a slow paced playoff game, which is the shooting, yes, but also the ability to iso and just bully his way to the FT line.

This value will also be more present if teams decide to switch their SG or wing on to Paul and have their PG guard Chanucey. Chauncey is capable of posting up most of the league's PG's and getting FT's. Green while he's good can't take advantage of being guarded by a PG, and neither can Crawford really even though he's 6'5.

So while I agree about Bledsoe needing to be on the floor with Paul more, and Green needing to play more minutes, I also see why a coach or a team would feel that having a healthy and in rhythm Billups has value.

Chauncey: Draws fouls. Leader. Helps orchestrate the offense. Former Finals MVP. Takes some pressure of CP3.

Willie: More consistent shooter. Cuts to the basket. Younger legs. Stays healthy. Better defensively.

I don't know...seems like I'd rather have Willie starting...especially considering the record. But I totally understand starting Chauncey.

I like the lineup that we're playing with now, which is also pretty much the lineup we played with during our 17-game winning streak. That means Green and no Billups... Chauncey was a great leader and great player, but when he was back he showed he had very little left. He was a stand still shooter and not much more. Let's face it; Willie Green is the far superior player at this point in their careers.

I remember a game a couple months ago. It was tied with 11 seconds and Billups had the ball to close it out instead of Paul. I said to my son, "watch this, Billups doesn't have the athleticism anymore to create an advantage." He dribbled then tried to create a play and never got a shoulder by or created a makable shot. He's just too slow. Frankly, as compared to Green, Crawford and Bledsoe, who can all play his spot, he's a liability.

I hope Vinnie sees this and has the courage to keep Billups on the bench with Hill, ready for very limited duty.

As to Bledsoe starting; why? We've played our best with Bledsoe coming off the bench and Green starting. Bledsoe is a nice option to keep on the court in the fourth if defense is what's needed. I think Vinnie has used Bledsoe quite well and I have no complaints with VDN in this regard.

Hey Sam welcome back

Chauncey has played so little that he hasn't gotten his "Sea legs" under him. He probably will start but Darwin will set in real fast. He will succed or suck. If he can't do it he will probably voluntarily take a lesser role rather than stinking it up and f*cking us up. Hill sits on the bench. This is Chauncey's last year. Injury can be his fig leaf

You have to figure if this set up has been working, maybe this is what Vinny is planning on doing during the playoffs, and if Crawford gets hot, he will probably take Bledsoe or CP3's place out there for a big bunch of minutes.

I just really hope our big men can take the beating we are about to receive from Memphis and not get killed like last year. If we win this series, we need to hope that whoever we play next has a longer series than us. I'd like to get an extra day or two for our guys to relax before we have to take on an even tougher opponent.

Please just make it to the Conference Finals guys.
