How horrible is that? We've got 5 teams with a 67.5% winning percentage or better which is better than the Eastern Conferences #2 seed, a team that just got off of like a 12 game win streak no less either.

Christ, if we played in the East we might hit the Conference Finals yearly.

That is true. We would be playing Miami every year to get to the NBA finals.

And the only reason why the West doesn't have the #1 team is because the miracle the Heat had winning like 27 in a row. Even with the player personnel that jumped to the East, and big time players getting traded over there, the West is still the best by miles. I think Utah and Dallas have better records than the Bucks and the Bucks are the 8th seed LOL.

Time for a realignment. I've waited long enough for the gap to close in a little bit. But the East's inferiority has been forever now. The 8th seed from the East hasn't had a better record than the one from the West since the 2000s. I'd like to see two new expansion teams.

Conference A (insert name)

West Division

Clippers

Golden State

Phoenix

Utah

Central Division

Indiana

Milwaukee

Oklahoma City

St. Louis or Kansas City?

Southeast Division

Miami

Washington

New Orleans

Charlotte

Atlantic Division

Boston

New york

Detroit

Philadelphia

Conference B

Pacific Division

Sacramento or Seattle

Portland

Flakers

Denver

Midwest

Minnesota

Chicago

San Antonio

Dallas

South Division

Houston

Orlando

Memphis

Atlanta

Northeast Division

Brooklyn

Toronto

Cleveland

Pittsbrugh?

6 games vs. each divisional opponent (a total of 18 divisional games)

4 games vs. each non-divisional opponent inside the conference (a total of 48 games)

1 game vs. each non-conference opponent (a total of 16 games)

18+48+16=82

If playoff teams were just seeded 1-16, this is how it would go:

1 Heat vs. 16 Bucks

2 Thunder vs. 15 Celtics

3 Spurs vs. 14 Hawks

4 Nuggets vs. 13 Rockets *

5 Clippers vs. 12 Lakers *

6 Grizzlies vs. 11 Bulls *

7 Knicks vs. 10 Nets

8 Pacers vs. 9 Warriors

  • Bulls, Lakers, and Rockets finish at 45-37. Bulls finished with the best conference record among the three. Lakers finished with a better conference record than the Rockets.

I like those matchups, a lot. Especially since we can play the Fakers and continue our sweep on them!

Really like the last half of those match ups.Think those would be some great series. Also liked JVG suggestion that a team under .500 shouldn't be allowed in the playoffs just because of the conference and that the Heat should have to play the Jazz instead of the Bucks.

After our sweep, our 2nd round matchup would be Denver. That would be a super tough matchup since they have homecourt and Denver has been almost unbeatable at home. But i think we have more chance against them then OKC.

Stern wants NBA in Europe but if we add another team, I'd like to see another team in the US and to bring back a Seattle or Sacramento team, or the Kansas City franchise.

And if you notice the PAcific Northwest division, the T Wolves are basically the odd team out in that division, and even the southwest division in the EAst is a bit iffy as well with Washington and arguments can be made for Charlotte as well. They are a little out of place.

Minnesota needs to be moved to a more friendly traveling division like the Eastern Conference Central division. Throw in the KC Franchise to our conference, put them in the Southwest or the Northwest, and move Sacramento to the Northwest division and give us Portland.

Optimal situation would be to keep Sacramento in Sac Town, give Seattle and KC franchises. Move Seattle to the Northwest division, Portland to the West, and add in KC to the Northwest or Central division.

Yeah, the NBA should change the seeding format so that only teams with .500 % or better make the 'offs. I'm confused how'd that work tho'. Obviously there'll be 9 West teams, and 7 East, and the West's #9 seed will have to play the East's #1, I guess...
