If I ever hear or read about DJ getting more minutes to "learn" late in games, I am going to go nuts. Cousins raped him and he freely open up his cheeks and said, "may i please have another?".

We almost lost this game cause of his free throws and he smugly laughed all through that. I've had enough of him and I really hope we don't see much of him throughout the playoffs. Looks like CP3 is at his wits end with him too.

This guy is nothing more than Beidrins with a Clippers jersey and NO, more playing time is not going to make him smarter. The guy is just plain stupid.

Give me Hollins and Turiaf and I'll take my chances going forward.

If he doesn't learn to shoot Fts at 50% he needs to pack his bags. He is too much of a liability at the end of games.

Hollins and Turiaf are even worst than him defensively and Turiaf can't hit Fts this season. I would have Hollins close out games but thats it. At this point we don't have much at the C position. I would like to pick up Mozgov.

We agree. DJ should be the first player gone this summer. More so than Bledsoe.

If he plays well in the playoffs it might not be the case but I doubt he will.

DJ is my favorite Clipper, but if he's gonna hold us back, then he should be gone next summer.

Cousins had a great game- I'm not sure who could've stopped him tonight. Hollins tried too but all he could do was foul. Free throw shooting wise there was no excuse for DJ- I was surprised that Vinny didn't take him out earlier and allowed him to get fouled there at the end. DJ is obviously a big liability with FT's so down the stretch it will be a tough to leave him in because of it. Defensively, since the team no longer has a K-Mart, it's going to be difficult in end-game situations defensively when you got Randolph and Gasol to contend with. Lamar just doesn't have enough bulk and length to handle Zach down low. We may well have to risk Memphis not doing hack-a-DJ, and take him out once they start doing it.

Hollins would certainly be my first go-to guy to replace DJ down the stretch vs Memphis. Turiaf has been extremely poor at the line this season like DJ.

That's fair. If by some miracle he beasts in the playoffs, of course you don't trade him. Last year though come playoff time he folded so bad he was invisible out there. Like twice as bad as regular season it felt like, didn't have a single great game.

Hell, I'll take Odom at center at the end of games. I know he's on the skinny side but he's quick, smart, long armed, good on the boards, and a NBA champ.

Hollings and Turiaf are more sound when it comes to fundamentals. They know how play good team defense and know when to help out and run back to the paint. DJ gets lost and causes a lot of scramble cause he stays in no-man's land. He is the reason why we have a hard time with 3pt shooting.

cousins had it going tonight. plus getting away with his baby tantrums without receiving any techs helped his cause. id take odom and hollins over him in late game situations. however, in this upcoming series, DJ has the athleticism and length to give gasol problems. if we go with odom and hollins, we will get killed even worse. the best thing u can do is limit his minutes

BG was guarding Gasol after game one in last season's playoffs. I think that paints a perfect picture as to how well DJ plays against gasol. By the way, BG was hurt most of that series and we still won.

DJ hasn't shown me that he can cover gasol this time around.

I agree. And I hope VDN puts DJ/Hollins on Zach more like the last Memphis game. Randolph is just a beast inside, but length will give him issues. I'd actually be okay with Blake or Lamar guarding Marc Gasol as long as we keep Randolph off the offensive boards and make it tougher for Zach inside to score.

Agree with both of you guys. I don't know what we can get back for him though in a trade?

Yet another ridiculous thread. DJ played well last night. He missed some free throws at the end. It happens...get over it. The greatest that ever played the position have had the same problem.

Lol... DJ hasn't strung together even 10 good games since 2010-2011. He gets no break. Only way I back of is if he gives the franchise 5 mill a year back because he's worth about 6.

DJ should play more late in games to learn.

LOL okay whatever you say if it makes you feel better. DJ is and has been playing very well over the past month. Pretty much unstoppable when he gets the ball down low, runs the court and finished better than any center in the game and comes up with defensive impact plays. He can't shoot ft's but neither could Wilt, Shaq or Howard.

The problem is that it happens EVERY TIME he's in late in a close game. It's not like he had a bad game but he nearly cost us the game and home court, and he didn't seem like he cared. You say shaq and wilt and everyone was bad at free throws, yeah, but not this bad. His free throw shooting is worse than a blind kids FG%. The guy just shouldn't be in late games. 38% from the free throw line? Come on man, that's not professional.

It won't be long before the NBA makes a rule about "hack-a-whoever" before the 2 minute mark. After that, DJ is going to be very important to us.

Every team has flaws, no team is perfect. A lot of you guys want to trade him because he can't hit free throws, that isn't enough reason to trade the guy. I rather have DJ on my team than most Centers in the league. He runs faster than most, if not all centers in the league. He's underrated in the post, and he's adding that tap out that Tyson Chanlder does for his team. Most importantly, team chemistry is a huge factor that a lot of you guys aren't factoring into the equation.

Buddy he can't hit free throws and all decent centers have career games against him. Sure his post game/offense in general is better. His defense has slipped bad though which is what we need him for most. Then he can't hit free throws for the life of him. Not long ago he was at like 50 ish percent from the line (I think around Jan) and now he's at like 38 percent? TERRIBLE liability. Remember how much Popovich exposed us with hacking last year?

I want him traded because he's taking up 11 mill a year to be a carefree guy who hasn't improved but rather declined overall in year 5. 2010-2011 DJ was a true defensive anchor that Phil Jackson called our biggest difference maker. Fast forward 2 years and his shotblocking is down, defense has declined. I don't give a CRAP about his post game. I want the damn kid to dominate defensively which is exactly WHY we paid him 11 mill a year.

No free throws+no defense= trade 11 mill a year big.

He did his best to blow it last night again. If not for Crawford's 2 trey's, we'd be backing into the PO's and off to Memphis today.

The guy is a liability plain and simple. I'd be more than happy to trade him for half the C's in the league.

I was SO pissed when he pulled that Dwight Howard **** last night and was smiling during a timeout after Sac took a late lead on a 3... right after he bricked his 4th free throw in a row. I wanted to slap the sh** out of him. I don't understand why the team is SO hard on role player Hollins for every little mistake.. but DJ can smile and nothing happens. CP3 should of gotten in his face and ripped him a new one.

He smiles to deflect the pressure. He cares but will not allow it to consume him. It's all between the ears and he will get better. He's got good form. It wasn't him who almost cost us home court but it was him who made it possible by having the best game on the floor in the most important game of the year at Memphis. Besides was it 4 in a row that he missed or just 3 in a row?

Lol DJ is like a homeless man's injured Dwight. Hits fts even worse. Also about 1/4th as good on defense.

Would dump him for Javale Mcgee at this point. Even he can hit Fts at almost 60%.

i agree i like the fact that in this 7 game win streak vinny finally tweaked the rotation by bringing in ryan hollin for dj instead of lamar he nedds to go with ryan more in the 4th i know he make alot of fouls but hes not tyring ti via for mins he plays defense and doesnt make it easy for other teams to score in the paint dj want to play offense more so he doesnt want to get in foul trouble so that makes him less agressive on defense
