Russell Westbrook will undergo surgery for a meniscus tear in his right knee. No timetable announced.

Sad to hear even though it helps us. WB has not missed a single game since high school the injury was caused by Patrick Beverly doing a bush league, extremely dangerous move on WB. I can see why WB flipped out since it turns out if cause a very serious injury.

I am not sure how serious the tear is but obviously he is out for the playoffs. This helps us but I would never want this kind of thing to happen to anyone. Really sad to hear and Bev should get suspended.

If you guys get past the 1st round, looks like you might have an easier road to the finals.

Could this mean if the clippers beat memphis it would provide an easy path for us to get to WCF

This might be the easiest path to the finals if we beat memphis

I hate that Westbrook went out like this, but it does make it considerably easier for us to reach the finals if we get past the

Grizz. I always considered Westbrook a bigger match up problem for us than KD. Plus, CP just struggles against Westbrook's atheticism. He's not going to have the same problems against Derek Fisher or Reggie Jackson

this helps us out ALOT. BUT, let's just focus on the gizzlies. they win game 4 and it's a 2-2 series... we need game 4

Holy $hit. We just need to win this series and we'll be in the west finals. No way Durant beats us alone.

This is sad, and it makes Game 4 that much more important. If we stop off rebs and our guards shoot over 50% we win. Period.

WOOOOOOW WE HAVE A CHANCE!!!!

It's not going to be easy, but the odds are in our favor.

Lets take care of business 1st, it's not going to be easy.

Super bad luck for okc. I was not a huge Westbrook fan but I'm always sad when someone gets an injury. Hope he has a speedy recovery. This definitely helps us if we get past Memphis but i would never wish an injury on anyone.

The guy is truly made of iron until today. Can you believe that despite his playing style, he's never missed a single game since he started his career (including playoffs) before today?

Agree. No question this unfortunate injury helps us but we need to get past the griz first so let's not think about the next round. Let's win game 4!

Some people are just naturally durable. Sadly CP3 is not. This was more of a freak accident. Really saddens me to see this because CP3 went down with a similar injury(more serious though) and he was never the same player again.

VDN is happy! Beverly made it easier for him to save his job.

This type of injury = 2-3 weeks no?

Let's say Houston pushes them to 6-7 games. He might be back for games 3-4 in our series, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah Cp3 was a monster attacking the rim earlier in his career. He was basically Westbrook with Brains

So this injury is longer then 2-3 weeks?

Artest was out like 12 days.

So Paul was out for over half a year atleast, Artest 2 weeks and Bledose 6-8 weeks? I guess we'll have to wait and see on the severity.

they said only 2% of the meniscus was torn. BUT the team said that they would prefer to actually fix the meniscus rather than just do a clean up, which means he can be out for a while

If vinny or the team blow this golden opportunity then IDK. Kinda remind me when we blew the series against the suns without amare

You guys are forgetting something, if Golden State beats Denver (and to do so all they have to do is win games 3, 4 and 6 at home), they would play OKC, not the Clippers.

no, they would play the spurs. OKC is in our path/bracket, not theirs

No we face OKC in the 2nd round no matter what. It doesn't work like that.

Oh, I forgot it's the NHL that re-seeds after the 1st round, not the NBA.

looks like he'll be back within a couple of weeks with a small tear like that. only 2% torn, not a big deal

The way he plays, I don't think he'll be as effective rushing back from injury. His game is too reliant on speed and athleticism. Even if he were back for our series I wouldn't be worried.

I just heard this on 710 right now. Guys this is huge without westbrook the thunder are notthe favorite in the west. If we get past the grizzlies westbrroks absence can give us an advantage in the west. They say hes out indefinitely

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. No question we should beat Memphis and now okc, but let's focus on game 4! We need that game badly! Extending this series will give us more opportunities for unfortunate injuries. Last year we were all beat up.

Beverly (I think) was going for a steal and his hip hit RW's knee.

I don't want to say anything I'm going to regret so I'm just gonna leave this topic alone. RW could comeback by the time we play them, if we end up playing them.

just read the news and I am pumped! Last year it seemed almost the entire NBA was jacked up and I felt certain teams got lucky in the playoffs. We REALLY need to get past Memphis now. Durant and Ibaka is more than likely not enough to win a series against us, and if they do miraculously they will not make it past San Antonio who is more than likely going to be in the Conf Finals. omfg please please win

The Article is on Westbrooks Injury, but with that injury, the path to the Western Conference finals opens right up for the Clippers.

Looks like an opportunity has arrived for the clippers. Russell Westbrook is having knee surgery. Clippers vs heat in the finals.

"Settle down Mike Smith" Grizz just whooped us last night, we need to beat them first, than get past KD's numerous treys, than get past Popovich's awesome coaching.

Saying it don't mean sh!t. 3 games into a tough series with Memphis (I have a feeling this 1st round match up is going the full 7 games) and your already getting WAY ahead of yourself. roll

Relax. We still have to beat the Griz. Then the Thunder who are good even without WB. Then the Spurs. Stop talking about the Finals and beat who is in front of us.
