LOL, which tool gave VDN a first place vote? Last year, he also received one, I think. But you know how improved teams get a lot of loved from the media. But VDN could only manage to get one vote. This year, he only received two votes. And yet Hollins, who didn't have the benefit of having a "surprised" team received 10 votes (6 first place). That says a lot about VDN's status as a coach in this league.

Too bad he choked badly in the 1st round against the Warriors.

Most knowledgeable fans in Denver are probably pulling their hair out right now with him getting that award, even before the PO debacle.

Think it should have gone to Thibs.

Wow, the Nuggets GM just won Exec of the year. That doesn't make sense, either the coach is the reason they did good or the roster. They can't have both

Agree to disagree, guys.

These awards are based on regular season only.

Upside of playing/coaching in the East is that it's easier to make the playoffs, downside is that it's much less impressive when you do. Bottom line is that 3rd in the West with 57 wins is way better than 5th in the East with 45 wins. Even without Rose, I don't think there's a big enough disparity in the rosters to justify that big a disparity in results, or for George's accomplishments to be diminished.

Thibs is amazing defensively, but more often than not, great offense will beat great defense in a close game... particularly when the ball is usually in the hands of a great scorer or playmaker, or a coach is drawing up an offensive set. Until the Bulls can consistently get a bucket when it matters, Thibs looks like a one-way coach to me.

45 wins in a weak conference with the lowest positive point diff in the league... Thibs gotta show those boys how to score.

Good read on whether or not Karl deserved the COY award. Read all the comments too.
