I'm a big Paul George fan and I was watching this youtube video on him and I was really suprised when at the 4:13 mark he says ''growing up my favorite team was the Clippers'' Very Happy

Imagine a line up of CP3, BG, and PG, WOW.

Thanks for finding the actual video. I've been saying PG was a Clippers fan since he was drafted and could never find a video to prove it. He actually wanted us to draft him which is why I'm still bitter we took raw as hell project Aminu instead of him.

So basically F*CK YOU OLSHEY! I want George on our squad probably more than any other SG in the league, he just fits us too good.

And I don't want anyone to say "Oh well, Aminu got us CP" because we could've gave them Bled instead.

What were the Clippers thinking choosing Aminu over not only George but Hayward too... Just to think that the Clippers would have had a player who would have probably played his heart out for the organization.

On the positive side, George will be a free agent in 2014...

RESTRICTED with no chance in hell of Indiana letting him go man. We could of sent Bledsoe to New Orleans and would have CP3, George and Griffin right now. So insane to think about.

I think Paul George is going to be that 1 guy we should have drafted that we passed on more than probably any other player for years to come. Bigger than taking Koralev over Granger as Granger is having some injury issues. George plays great defense, hustles and can score at a high rate if need be.

I remember draft night not knowing much about Paul George but my gut was saying I hope they pick this guy.

yall realize he would've gone to NOLA anyway as part of the CP trade, right?

that pick was gonna be a trade piece either way.

Ekker not true. They badly wanted a PG. They would have taken Gordon+Bledsoe+Kaman+that Minny pick as it's still easily the best package. In fact it's BETTER than the Aminu package they got. Not sure why people assume the team trying to get rid of a disgruntled superstar has that much leverage, they never do.

I met Paul George at a bowling alley this past summer before he blew up and told him how he has a ton of fans in LA and the Clippers should have drafted him. I knew he was a Clipper fan so I made it seem like he is really missing out here. He felt the same way and when I told him to come to the Clippers he told me maybe, maybe with a big smile. You can tell his heart is still in LA and the Clippers need to really try to acquire him.

Bledsoe would have been traded rather than Aminu (Paul George)... Especially when Clippers didn't need a point guard with CP3 coming in the trade.

No one can predict what could have happened but Paul George wouldn't have been traded. Why?

George had a more productive first year than Aminu. That's with George coming off the bench for Granger.

It's safe to say that if George would have been coming off the bench for Gomes than George would have finished the year as the Clippers starting small forward.

Here are the stats for 2010-11:

Gomes 7.2 points 3.3 rebounds

Aminu 5.6 points 3.3 rebounds

George 7.8 pointes 3.7 rebounds

I agree with ekker... They would have wanted George over Aminu, and we'd have gladly paid that price for CP3.

Think about it...

There's a reason why Hornets wanted Bledsoe over Aminu. The Hornets were losing there priced possession, a point guard, Chris Paul and Hornets had no one to replace with except for Jerryd Bayles.

Bledsoe would have been an automatic starter. Not to mention that at the time Hornets had Trevor Ariza.

Long story short, Hornets needed a point guard rather than a small forward. Olshey refused to include Bledsoe because Bledsoe was better than Aminu but Hornets still made the trade.

Olshey would have faught to have kept George just like Olshey faught to keep Bledsoe.

Nice story jtwinnaz and even though the Pacers are very high on him I as well hope our Clipps try to acquire him, he'd be the perfect SF alongside CP3 and BG.

Wonder who would've helped us more, Granger or George...?

Maybe Olshey would have valued Bledsoe over George. After all, he valued Aminu over George in the draft.

I think people credit Olshey a little too much for the CP3 trade. He'd been working on it for months and still let it slip through his fingers... until David Stern's shrewd ownership of the Hornets caught it for him.

First rule of trading: get the best player/s available... Paul George then and now is better than Bledsoe. And the Hornets did take a SF anyway.

We only kept Bledsoe due to the fact that the Hornets were out of suitors with the clock running out.

George... George is similar to Granger with the exception that George just tends to hustle more.

If we got him now, we'd have 2 players with 2 first names. Chris Paul & Paul George.

What can we do to make this happen!!!!

Imagine a line up of CP3, BG, and PG, WOW.

Paul George played ball at Fresno state, which was in the western athletic conference, same as the university of Hawaii. I used to watch him play Hawaii and was impressed with him even though his teammates sucked. I was hoping we would have drafted him. He was good, a little raw but he showed flashes of brilliance, and had very high potential.

paul george being a clippers fan is a great development. If he ever had to decide between us and another team we know how that will pan out. Also a shout out to ty lawson he called the clippers "dope" on tmz

Thanks for finding this video.Heard a couple of times from people on here that George was a Clippers fan growing up but I could never find the article or video of him saying this.Sucks we didn't draft him but can't really think about it because with the draft you never know what your going to get.At the end of the day we got CP3 but I have to admit having Paul George would have been great. He is a great player and I always trade for him in 2K lol.

CP3 for George but pawn DJ off on them too. Bledsoe, George and Griffin as the core.

I give you that about Olshey choosing Aminu over George and Olshey getting too much credit.

With that being said, Olshey would have seen George with Clippers and would have noticed first hand that George was something special.

You are also right that we only kept Bledsoe because Hornets were out of suiters with the clock running out...

With that same scenario, Clippers having the upper hand, don't you think Clippers would have been able to keep George instead?

I posted stats in regards to George's contribution in his first year behind Granger compared to Aminu's and Gomes contribution...

My theory was that George, if drafted by Clippers, would have been a starter towards the end of season over Gomes.

Just that alone would lead me to believe that the Clippers would have not included George in CP3 trade.

yep exactly how I feel man. Was I the only one that thought Paul George was better than freakin Aminu. Man they hiped that dude up so much. I knew Aminu wasnt gonna be that good. I wish I could kick Olshey in the nuts for this one. I love my Clippers!! GO CLIPS!!

Yes my Gut instinct told me that. Paul George just looked better athleticly. And showed some kind of range aswell. Aminu to me just looked dumb and slow...lol...So I still scratch my head for that one. I love my Clippers!! GO CLIPS!!
