Just noticed that Willie tweeted that he was back at the gym. He also took a photo of the message in the locker room area- Energy, Focus, No Excuses.

What a pro- hopefully more Clippers follow his example and start working hard early. I definitely look forward to seeing Willie's contributions to the team next season.

It's hard to keep away from basketball after a disappointing defeat.

The consummate pro. Wish he got some more PT but he should've known to stay cold because Vinny always sits his hottest shooters.

OH MY GOD!, guys is that DeAndre in the background?!?!?

Oh wait nevermind that's just Big Foot. I should've known that spotting a Jordan in a Gym is just a Myth.

Such a shame that he didn't get playing time in the playoffs. If he was in over Billups we might have won game 6....

Respect to Willie. VDN should have benched Billups and given Willie a chance!

You guys are right. Willie was a pro about the situation and SHOULD have played in the playoffs. Looks like he's off to a great start for next season...

I just saw that Andre Drummond is going to workout with Hakeem. Why isn't Blake doing the same thing?

Isn't he a free agent? Is he technically still allowed to use the Clippers' facility?

If anybody should still be pumped to play, it's Willie. The guy was playing his best basketball as a Clipper late in the season before being benched again in favor of Chauncey.

He doesn't even need to work with Hakeem there are so many great post players he can work with. Heck he can work with Kareem. Really wish he worked with a big man with a great post game.

Also Drummond for DJ anyone? Haha I wish. Drummond is 10x the defender though both are raw offensively and can't hit FTs.

Remember Ben Wallace and his FT shooting. Didn't stop him from being a great player.

But why not go to the greatest post player in NBA history who is also willing to teach players? I would love if Blake could also go to Kareem to learn more about being the man and demanding the ball and of course I would want Blake to learn a Sky Hook but he has T-Rex arms.

How much would you give him (years/salary)?

Never said Drummond wouldn't be. The thing with Drummond is that his defense more than compensates for it. Not so much for DJ who is incredibly inconsistent and has been rendered completely ineffective in both playoffs.

Because it is extremely difficult to use a lot of his post moves. Hakeem was special in that he had extraordinary footwork, he moved better than most guards and he was incredibly skillful. BG is more of a power player. He should learn from someone like Mchale. Fundamental post moves that are still extremely effective.

This is funny... everyone hated Willie before, including me. I was calling him wet Willie and some other guys were calling him Brick Willie. Fans man...

but I'm glad we have a guy like him.

I ain't gonna lie. First half of the season, even though we were winning, I would say, "just think when we get Chauncey back...we'll be even better" considering Willie wasn't particularly aggressive.

I especially was getting frustrated after CP3 got injured and sat out. Because we lost our floor leader out there. I'd look at that bench and see Billups sitting in his suit and I'd be frustrated. There is a guy who could be playing and being the floor leader out there while Paul was out.

Chauncey finally comes back and he has a couple of great games. But as the games went on, we looked like only a slightly better than .500 team. And I do believe I might've been the first to throw it out there....maybe we are actually a better team with Willie. Be it because he's healthier and plays better defense or he's just our good luck charm. Either way, I was starting to see we were a different team without him. Then, others seemed to feel the same way. That's when Chauncey got injured again and Willie returned playing his best basketball as a Clipper.

So, yeah, I totally took him for granted...but definitely saw the error of my ways.

We really did take him for granted, and I definitely didn't want him back after Chauncey's big come back(I think it was 19 points). Too bad Vinny didn't have the balls to bench Billups during the playoffs.

I disagree on this one. Hakeem was an athletic but undersized C. I think it's actually a good fit for Blake because Hakeem knows how it is to play undersized. Blake is an athletic but undersized PF. The thing about Hakeem is that he tailors his workouts to the skill sets the player already has and to their strengths. He's a smart guy and doesn't go out and try to make everyone into him, he just tries to improve them where they are.

Also in regards to McHale he was all about footwork and length, footwork is some differentiating thing between the two guys. Of course he's also a coach for another team. Hakeem teaches the guys how to focus on two moves and then have counters, he doesn't try to make them have 17 moves. You'd be surprised that some of the moves Hakeem did in games, eg. Against Robinson, he had never done before, he just made them up. But they were stringed from the basic moves he knew and the footwork basics. Hakeem doesn't go and try to teach guys that stuff.

Hakeem would be good for Blake and remember he wanted to do it last summer before he got injured. Blake has not worked on his game as he could in the summer since he's been in the NBA.

1st year: knee injury

2nd year: lockout, can't work with team

3rd year: Olympics then knee injury

He's missed a lot of in the gym development time, a lot.

If Willie can't get decent minutes Get rid of him. He deserves to start or at least be #1 off the bench. With the way he played he deserves it. I would love to dump Chauncey and start Willie. The only way I'd keep him as #3 is if we're worried about EJ getting injured. TRADE HIM

The same is true of Bledsoe. He's never going to be happy here in CP's shadow fighting for minutes. Give him a break and trade him. He's reached is ceiling as a back up and needs to start or at least get decent bench minutes.

These are both wasted assets (read $$)
