The fact that we'll have Willie Green to step in should EJ go down is not the worst thing in the world. And we know when EJ does come back from injury, he always produces...unlike poor Chauncey.

Somebody needs to talk to Chauncey. If he shows his groove this summer OK but he embarrassed himself. He is one of my favorites and it breaks my heart. Like when Ali got torched by Leon Spinx and he bought the next fight.

If EJ gets a chance to play with BG and CP3 his attitude will improve A LOT and REAL FAST. Remember EJ guarded Kobe. We need youth. Everybody (sorta) is over 30.

How can we afford it? To get this trade I would think about throwing in Jamal and use Willie but it won't happen. Willie is a better 3 pt shooter and better defender.

Isn't the entire reason we traded EJ is because we wouldn't be able to afford his contract?

Would Jordan off the books take care of that? Even so, damn he's injured a lot

EG is ok. I guess! but to bring him back its a no for me.

He just another prone player (injuries)

Even healthy he not a top 5 SG let a lone in the top 3, LOL.

Course some people though Kaman was a top 5 center when he was playing "good" too. wink

An over paid injury prone SG who N.O is dying to dump off on somebody. Ugh.

I'd have to do this trade, if I was the Clippers.

A trade like this is very iffy. getting rid of DJ is very tempting tand the return is pretty solid. EJ may be injury prone but DJ is very daydreaming prone during a game...

I wont be mad at all if this trade went down..

Some people are just too over anxious to trade DJ and aren't really thinking this though IMO.

There's better deals out there if we just step back and breathe a little.

This is a deal made in heaven IF WE CAN AFFORD IT. Anything to get rid of DJ. I'd wear a Kobe shirt. Hell I'd wear Kobe underwear. (so his face can be close to my anal sphincter)

Everyone on this post has said that if we had KMart and Reggie we'd have beaten Memphis. They're right. The best way is often the most obvious.

Is tax $2 for ever $1 over the cap?

We can do a lot better than this for d.j. & Bledsoe. This makes no sense. How are we getting better? If e.j. could play more than 25 games a year i would say yes. I would rather keep those guys and start Bledsoe at the 2 combined with a new coach who can get the most out of d.j.

i dont know if i really like robin lopez but at this point anything is an upgrade over DJ right? i'd love to have EJ back.. business is business at the end of the day but im sure BG will be pretty bummed out that were trading his best friend that he literally does everything with. just know if this trade goes through it had something to do with chris paul.

The salaries don't even match up. If you think d.j. Is overpaid, how about E.j at almost 14 mil per for another 3 years.

Doesn't work salary wise and EJ makes a lot of money for an injured often guy right now

Torn about this one. we have to wait and see if cp3 stays. cant just go and trade option B while option A is still not signed.

ic cp bolts dont touch bled.

if cp stays, make the right deal. EJ can be our third option that we so lacked in the memphis series. the downpart is his injury problem. he can shot and with cp driving and dishing he can become lethal.

Its a tough decision. at the moment keep dj, and look for better options.

Maybe we can intice orlando to bite on a vicevic afflalo for dj and ebled( they wont do it, but they need a young pg if im not mistaken)

or look for a 3 team trade with pelcans and someone else that would bring you back a serviceble center.

I'm in favor of this move. I'm willing to take a chance with Gordon's health history. When he's healthy, he's right there with the best 2s in the league and Lopez is better than Jordan.

EJ and Lopez is like $19 million, Clippers need something like at least $15.5 million in salaries to,be within 125%, Bledsoe and DJ is about $14.6 million, which is close, so Hill or Green have to be added.

But your starting 5 would cost $62.5 million, and with Crawford and Green or Hill, 7 players for about $69-$69.7million. MLE being used puts you over luxury. You have to sign 5 players to fill out the roster. I guess the draft pick is one.

Is EJ really worth it? What if he's injured again....

He averages 49 games a year over his 5 year career. What makes you guys think he is gonna get healthy all of a sudden? He has always been soft and he doesn't play through pain. Now that he has his big contract he has zero motivation.

Eh. The Clippers should hire a coach before they start making personnel decisions. I wouldn't mind Gordon but I'd try to involve PHX and make it a 3 team trade and sign Iguadala in FA.

EB+DJ for EJ+Lopez...

then flip EJ+Butler to PHX for Gortat,Scola,Dudley

That would give us crazy depth in the front court.

PS- How does the defensive player of the year not make 1st team all-defense? LMAO

The game log info of how Lopez and Gordon did vs the Grizzlies during the regular season:

game 1: Hornets lose 96-89

Eric Gordon: DNP

Robin Lopez: 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 block, 4 turnovers in 20 minutes

game 2: Hornets win 91-83

Eric Gordon: 8 points, 3 rebound, 2 assist, 4 steals, 2 blocks in 30 minutes

Robin Lopez: 8 points, 6 rebound in 17 minutes

game 3: Hornets lose 96-85

Eric Gordon: 11 points, 3 assists in 28 minutes

Robin Lopez: 3 points, 1 rebound in 22 minutes

game 4: Hornets win 90-83

Eric Gordon: 11 points, 2 assists in 32 minutes

Robin Lopez: 23 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks in 30 minutes

Looks like Lopez was a no-show the first and third game, but exploded to help the Hornets win the final game. Eric Gordon averaged only like 10 points with Tony Allen hounding him, but that's still better than the #'s put up by our shooting guards.

So we're looking like an upgrade for both starting SG and C, though losing Bledsoe will hurt the bench no doubt. In the end, it doesn't really matter how deep you are since ultimately you can only put out your best 5 vs anybody else's best 5. During the Memphis series, our best 5 man unit could not keep up with the the Memphis 5.

So I that's why I'm in favor of the trade as it will improve the team. The Clipper doctors certainly need to have a serious look at Eric Gordon beforehand, however.

We won 56 games with a terrible coach. We don't need to make lateral moves. I actually would consider this a downgrade. You are better off keeping the roster together as much as possible and seeing what a guy like SVG can do with D.j.

DJ can't shoot free throws. Ship him out. We will not win anything with such a liability on the line now matter who is coaching

Scary news though- looks like Gordon just had surgery on his ankle:

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/92615 ... le-surgery

Definitely risky- I'm starting to change my mind, lol. It's a lot of $ for the next 3 years. Maybe the Clippers can pry a 1st round draft pick from them as part of the trade....

You can shape a pile of poop into any shape u want, it's still poop.

Is Eric Gordon worth twice (probably 3x actually) as much as Mayo????? I'm a Gordon fan too, he was my fav Clipper when he was here. Instead of Gordon we could pick up Mayo and another player. Can we still ship them DJ?

Well according to that logic adding E.j and Lopez to this team would somehow change that. You can't just make changes just for the sake of making changes. I have been a fan of this team for 33 years and I assure you that the quality and talent level of this team can in no way be described as "poop". We just ran into a team that got hot at the right time and is probably gonna plow through the west.

"That" team also has been injury free so far in the PO's while the other teams they've played or are playing haven't been so lucky.

Not saying they aren't a very good team, which the are, but sometimes hot and lucky are synonymous.

I'll be lying if I say I'm not excited lol. But really though, we have to think about this more, I'm sure we'll find some better deals. Plus I don't want to let go of Bled till CP resigns with us. Why can't he just tell the Clippers front office that he's resigning(secretly)? That why we can find deals for Bled already.

Guys we will be seriously over the cap. What is it worth to get rid of De Albotross Jordan? The salary seriously doesn't work unless we can dump Butler or Crawford. CP3 will get max. We want to keep Barnes which we SHOULD

Lopez ??Some mean MF

BG /Brand

?? Butler (Some young cheap dude), Barnes

EJ /Greene ???? Crawford. We really need a swing man

CP3/ Malik

Hill

This is an elite team.

I'd rather the clippers trade Bledsoe/Butler for Ryan Anderson/Lance Thomas. Gordon's injury history isn't something to take lightly, especially since he's on a max contract.

Anderson would be fantastic to spread the floor for Blake and DJ, and we know Chris likes bigs who can shoot. Afterwards we still have our low 1st rounder and the MLE to improve our wings.

People are thinking about this backwards. If you were a GM why would you want to acquire DJ? $11mill donkey. We are thinking about what's good for us and being a bit unrealistic.

A friend tried to fix me up with a woman who was a bisexual chef who liked to share, food and her girlfriend (no kidding). This is the only thing that could make me take DJ

Unfortunately it didn't work out. If it had I wouldn't be on this post with you sorry MF's No taco jokes please.

I love Gordon but if you do this move and it backfires you're ****** period.

You've wasted Chris Paul's prime because your cap space was tied up with a 15 million dollar unmovable player that's never on the court.

I would take the chance on Gordon. DJ is worth a ****. We would have the best back-court in the NBA. Robin can't be no worse at this point than DJ.

For those that say we should sign Mayo, how? He'll be demanding more than the MLE, and someone will give it to him.

The playoffs showed we need that consistent 3rd scorer and Gordon provides that.

Sign Chancey to VET Min and hope with playing time he regains some form/consistency. With him Willie Green and Crawford as our backups, we have decent insurance that Gordon cannot play 70 plus games.

depends on what mayo will command on the open market. I think it's much easier to find a big body who can take up space than an all star caliber 2 guard. This league has turned into small ball anyway

Robin lopez really, I was a big fan of ej while he was here but I think all the hate for Jordan is getting ridiculous. We all forgot early in the season when shaq was saying dj is the greatest center in the west (even though that was just a shot at dwight). DJ is not the only center that can't shoot ft look at bogut. He needs to step it up to low 60s and become the defensive stopper and reboumd that he has shown glimpses and he will be more than good. If we do trade him there are very few centers i would take over him (that is centers that we can get we are not getting chandler or marc). I think bball wise cousins would be awesome but i dont think him and bg could play together.

Sorry for the rant, anyways, i think it would be better to get an oj or try to get tyreke. If we are gonna overpay for a sg lets get iggy or try for monta. If thats the case and we are so set on trading dj lets get dwight trade dj caron to try to make room.
