Ralph brings up a very fair point on Vinny. Which is basically that Vinny tells players certain things and they choose not to listen (his example was Vinny benching players only to have them cussing him out on the way to the bench). Which leads to us blaming him obviously, when in actuality it's idiotic players. For example... I have to admit there were PLENTY of times you could hear Vinny screaming "Push the ball!" only to have CP3 take his sweet ass time walking the ball up. Or you could hear him saying "BOX OUT!" only to have 3-4 guys leak out to try for a fastbreak and instead give up an offensive board leading to an easy dunk or wide open 3. I DO see why Vinny's in a situation where he can't win. That's exactly WHY I want a coaching change though. I want a respected, brutally tough coach who will break these soft punks mentally and turn them into soldiers. Enough with the entitled, rebellious bullsh** of our players. It's time to break them down boot camp style.

^ who can fill that spot legitimately. the only coaches i see that can run this team in a boot camp manner are pop and phil. no one else has that type of clout. unless we can get doc rivers or thibs to come to this team. of the realistic options we have, only svg can come close to being a "in your face" wont put up with bs type of coach.

Man, when Ralph suggested Bargnani I spit up my drink. And look, he and DJ make about the same amount annualy. I'd love to see DJ get coached by SVG or to see us hire Patrick Ewing as a big man coach (minus Vinny), but if we have to trade him Bargnani IS THE PERFECT PLAYER to complement Blake and CP3.

Uh oh, Ralph said he wants Vinny to return as head coach. I hope his house in Marina Del Rey has ClipperSam-proof locks.

I'm sure he's not worried about ClipperSam, but now I'm a little worried that the sexy older lady the Mrs. and I were hitting up for a 3-some at the beach is "sweet-Jo" Embarassed

One hardass coach who IS available is Byron Scott. He's extremely tough and confrontational. He's not a real upgrade over Vinny basketball wise but fit wise he is. He's FAR more confrontational and defense minded.

Dude, listen to yourself.

We come off a record regular season, but because we lost a tough series to the presumptive WC champions. you want somebody who you admit is not an upgrade?

Byron Scott is not defensive minded nor is he tough

He's a lazy ass who knows no x's and o's and takes practices off to play golf

Very hard to change the attitude of the players,no discipline it should starts on the players themselves shows respect to the coach, back to the basics practice good manners and discipline on the game.

I'm liking this bargani for dj even more. If jcross was able to somewhat revive his career after that awful year in Portland then maybe bargani can do the same with cp3 setting him up

I'm with Lawler, stick with your guns or bring in a cannon. The names he mentioned: Phil Jackson, Jerry Sloan, Larry Brown. Either one of those guys would be an epic upgrade. Phil starts a new dynasty. Sloan crafts a new Stockton/Malone w Chris/Blake. Larry Brown returns and Chauncey gets another ring with him

Larry brown always has a 2-3 years expiration date but I'll take the chance

Yes because Ewing did wonders to Howards low post offense when he was with Orlando.

Dwight Howard and DJ's game are complete opposite of Ewing. Ewing relied on his outside shot. His fundamentals were not that great...

Before we diss Ewing...Howard was at his best while Ewing was coaching him. Ewing's fundamentals were more than sound. He happened to be one of the best shooting big men of all time, so he relied on it a lot. Too much? Maybe. But it also means he could find a way to make the last shot of a game without relying on layups and dunks. He was an awesome rebounder and shot blocker and one thing not mentioned much when talking about the greatest centers of all time, is the ability to set picks. Ewing delivered some monster picks. Easily more effective than his peers in that area.

Well, if you are looking for a real night to remember try having a 9-some with all of Mike Smith's wives.

once again, hes not a coach that commands that type of respect, where the team wont get divided because he was hard on them. cp3 may like him, but unfortunately this is a team sport. plus hes not an upgrade over vdn.

Sometimes a good teacher can have a bad student. Besides DJ needs to worry about playing solid D, setting solid screens and boxing out. Ewing can help him out there.

The problem is DJ is closer to a Bynum meaning he is becoming known as uncoachable. He thinks he is better than he actually is. You can lead a horse to water but you cant make hime drink. Just look at is reaction on twitter when Slimers ripped him a new one. DJ is not humble.

When the team wins a title Ralph is gonna silently leave the arena walk outside and then jump in the sky with his fist towards the heavens as the credits roll.

Sadly Bargnani is also the perfect player to have the leagues worst defensive anchor and to digress on defense. I'd rather start a healthy Frye who at his best is not as good a scorer as Bargnani but is a more valuable player at his contract. Better defender, better defensive rebounder, better spot up shooter, better shot blocker, but he can't do as much in creating and putting the ball on the floor.

Of course, when Bargnani is scoring >17-18 pts/36 his efficiency is also not so hot anymore, and even at the lower numbers, it was above average, not great.

Frye on the other hand does about 15 pts/36 , in his best season, had a .596 TS%, which I believe s closer to the player he would be on a team like this. So basically you ask yourself if you want to pay $5-6M more to get about 2 more PPG with probably lesser efficiency, and worse rebounding, defense, shot blocking.

In terms of Ewing and Howard, remember what kind of post game Ewing had. I think what Ewing actually did was help Dwight a lot on defense. Offensively, Ewing's post game of turnaround jumpshots and being a good shooter was never the best fit for someone to teach Howard. Even with that, Dwight learned some good lessons on post position, got better as a finisher, and did become a better post player as the years went on. He maximized the growth he could have under Ewing though.

Bargnani can certainly produce on offense, and CP will help, but more importantly, him actually being healthy will help. Also remember that he's played 66/82, 31/66 and 35/82 games the last three seasons, so he isn't a poster boy for health.

The question is are you willing to give up rebounding and defense? He has no motor, he's a lazy player, he doesn't get to spots on defense, he has great length that he doesn't use well enough, he doesn't rebound. He has all the attributes to be able to defend as well as Marc Gasol in terms of mobility and length, he just doesn't have the defensive IQ or the motor to be consistently active on defense.

Many coaches have tried. Maybe as a 14-15 PPG player you could get him to be more active defensively and on the glass, but this is pure speculation as even younger Bargnani who was better in terms of defensive activity still sucked at rebounding.

Bargnani on this team might give a couple of Clipper fans aneurysms. You think this team is annoying with not boxing out or grabbing rebounds, wait till you see Bargs.
