Maybe Brand should go back to the Sixers. He gets no love from me.

If we trade bledsoe for Afflalo it will be the biggest mistake we can make.

Good. Affalo fills a huge hole in our roster, a good wing SG.

Bledsoe in my opinion isn't built for the playoffs. He doesn't have a consistent shot (jumper) and from what I've seen is very reluctant to shooting wide open 3s. We need more shooters.

I am sure there are plenty of teams interested in Bledsoe, but nobody has surfaced so far for the general public, as in us in the rumor department.

We risk the chance of losing Bledsoe for nothing if we hang onto him the entire season. I doubt he takes a pay cut and stays here if he's offered big bucks somewhere else.

Afflalo fills the SG hole and we'd really only be left with a question mark at the SF position, which I think can be filled nicely with Matt Barnes if he wants to come back and takes a few less bucks.

Afflalo has developed nicely into a solid SG in the NBA. He's got a good corner 3, plays good defense and can hit shots. He's also young, which is a bonus. He'd greatly help this team and remember, we still have Crawford off the bench.

I really think Orlando wants to trade for Bledsoe simply because this draft stinks, they don't have the 1st pick and Trey Burke is pure garbage. The days of Jameer Nelson in Orlando are about over, I think Vucevic, Bledsoe, Harkless, O'Quinn and company are the new guys going forward ( or that's what they'd like ).

I'd ask for at least a 2nd rounder as well in return. Or maybe we ship them Bledsoe, Butler and a 1st for Harkless and Afflalo. Doesn't hurt to ask, and I think that'd be one heck of a nice trade.

I'd also knock on Chicago's door and ask them about Jimmy Butler. I have no problem sending a 1st rounder for that guy either. Since this team wants to trade 1st round draft picks for a coach, why not for a budding star at SF?

I still don't see why everyone wants Afflalo? We could probably do a similar deal with Dallas for O.J. Mayo(S&T). In my opinion Bledsoe and Butler > Afflalo unless we simply want do dump Caron's salary for free agents.

I think Mayo would be a much better option for us.

Trade of Bledsoe+Butler for Arron Afflalo is rumored to be finalizing and going through on Thursday draft night. If true I'll miss Bledsoe a lot but Arron is a superb fit and will bounce back next to CP3.

Has to have been run by Doc and/or CP3, so it's fine by me.

We should at least try to get Nicholson for a stretch 4 to back Blake up.

We should NOT trade Bled until after CP3 signs on the dotted line. After the Brand debacle (we thought it was for sure he would stay after we signed Baron Davis).

CP3 ain't leaving. Nothing like the Brand situation. CP3's honestly probably telling the Clippers to trade Bled and that he will re-sign. Otherwise I doubt they would be doing it.

We Really should get more then just Afflalo, in fact I would rather we keep Eric Bledsoe till the trade deadline. Since I'm convinced Doc Rivers will only make Bledsoe's stock skyrocket by then (Avery Bradley??)

We need to focus more on winning the most games possible and locking in a long term core than we do farming players to increase their trade stock. PG's stocks to begin with are hard to increase considering 25 or 26 teams already have a high quality PG.

Maybe Doc can make Afflalo better? But I agree w/ Doc here it's a little tougher letting Bled go. DJ needs to go asap tho.

Like CP always says, it's WINNING TIME. Clipps need to make all the right moves, investing more time into DJ is too risky. CP is either in his prime or starting to go down the other side, I don't want CP to waste another year.

You make a lot of sense..... I just love Bleds game!! Could only imagine how crazy his defensive intensity would be under Doc.

we need better players that are good at off ball movement, for example, ray allen and pretty much the whole Spurs team.

With Doc's system and better players, this should be interesting. Bledsoe isn't a spot up shooter at all, and Butler is getting old and inconsistent.

I'm guessing Affalo would work well. How does he operate off the ball?

Unless Doc has something to say about that.

Doc's a good coach, he can make things work. If I was a Clips fan I would not be very excited about this move.

No way....

Bledsoe is wreckless and disappears, where was he in the playoffs?

He has no real shot. Lacks consistent perimeter shooting and is very hesitant taking 3s and isn't exactly consistent. Those are some criteria that the Clips are weak at. Barely any scorer/shooters. Bledsoe gets almost all of his points driving to the hoop, not that that is bad, just lacks a lot of versatility on offense. And of course Affalo is the better defender.

Trust me. The day Bled is gone from our team it will be like somebody in our family died. DJ on the other hand...not so much.

Actually, you know what I've just changed my mind. I want to keep Bledsoe. Tenacious defender like Bradley, not a great shooter, but great slasher.

You've convinced me even though I didn't need that much convincing to be honest

eric bledsoe's the type of guy that will ALWAYS get a standing ovation at staples center if/when he comes in as an opponent.

Wow- just saw this. We better get their #2 pick (or a future lottery pick) if it gets done. Otherwise just getting Afflalo back is not worth it to lose E-Bled & Caron.

I'd consider Nicholson their young, talented stretch 4 in the Channing Frye mold. Our team reportedly wants to find a stretch 4 this offseason Very Happy

We should throw in our #25 pick and see if we can get Harkless or Harris. Not gonna happen though.

Bledsoe never really got the minutes he normally had vs Memphis in the playoffs this season. Also in the regular season, I remember we beat the crap out of the Grizz in Memphis when CP3 was injured and E-Bled played a ton of minutes.

Disappears? On the contrary, Eric Bledsoe was one of the few who showed up vs the Spurs in the playoffs two seasons ago.

I don't like what I read in that article. I know we signed Doc, but trading EB before CP3 actually signs is ridiculous to me. You just never know... we should definitely wait on this, and also get more for Bledsoe.

I like Affalo and think he would fit it perfectly with us but giving up Bledsoe and Butler for him doesn't seem like enough imo.I would demand Harkless or Nicholson at least. If not one of them I want a 1st rounder.Caron's expiring contract has value and Bledsoe has a lot of value because of his potential. With Affalo you know what your getting. He won't likely be an All-Star and doesn't have much room for improvement.

Not sure how realistic this is, but why don't we try and package Butler with our #25 pick for Afflalo? Remember, Orlando is trying to get rid of his contract so we'd be doing them a favor by giving them an expiring and a pick. They'd probably want more, but still. It's worth a try, because he's not worth Bledsoe to me.

Someone on Magic forum proposed this trade:

ORL sends out: Afflalo/Nelson/Filler

ORL recieves: Bledsoe/Butler

BOS sends out: KG

BOS recieves: DJ/Filler

LAC sends out: Butler/Bledsoe/DJ

LAC recieves: KG/Afflalo/Jameer

Thoughts?

This is essentially the two trades we would want to make in one single transaction. This is probably what will happen as, if the 3 teams agree, they can get their lawyers to prove that this deal isn't contingent on Doc which would satisfy the CBA on KG coming to the Clippers. What are the incoming/outgoing salary totals? Would it match up?

Maybe Doc will talk some sense to the clippers brass and get this horrible afflalo trade out of the mix

effing vucevic.

any idea on whether Cleveland would be interested in DJ?

something along the lines of

LAC gets Varejao, Afflalo

CLE gets DJ

ORL gets Bled, Butler

This is exactly how I feel. We should have the leverage here. Orlando really needs a PG and wants to move Afflalo so they can clear room for whoever they draft. There are no other young, available PGs that have more upside than Bledsoe. Either we need to get another team involved that will sweeten the deal for us or we have to hold out for Orlando to give up more.

Also agree, Bledsoe is the best player in that trade although he doesn't fit a need for us. if Orlando sweetens the pot then we can talk.

The way Jameer has been playing last year, he may never start again on any team.

35MPG 14PPG 7APG while shooting 39%

He's a 31 year old back up. A good one I might add. He could be our Jarret Jack.

here's a wild idea: keep bledsoe, sign korver or belinelli.

no need to rush a bledsoe trade and settle for afflalo.

Like Korver for sure. Belinelli can go make pasta for another team. Ugh.

Belinelli is the Italian JR Smith, no thank you... Korver is nice but he's likely getting close to the full MLE.

A lot of teams want Bledsoe but not all of them have something the clippers need. Getting another asset in addition to Afflalo should be the goal. Although I'm down to keep Bledsoe and just re-sign him next season, but then are we sure he wants to stick around and play SG?

If he's starting I'm sure he would be ok with it. Plus I think Bledsoe has a sg's mentality more than a pg's mentality.
