At first, when I heard about this I was like " where is Ashton " This got to be a prank! Boston rather build with Vinny?

If kg walks then it'll be okay because hes not bound to stay or have any strings

http://www.celticsblog.com/2013/6/13/44 ... aul-pierce

Garnet was born in 1979 and Pierce in 1977. Getting both of these guys puts us in a rebuilding mode in two years. One is OK. We have no replacement for Pierce in the chute, As mentioned KG is really a #4

Normally I would trade DJ for six White Castles and a good Beaujolais Nouveau but where and how do we get a SF and a center. This may be their last years anyway. It may be a choice between keeping Jordan DJ or a one year rental of KG who's not a great center.

As we found out it's hard to get a decent center. Pop Duncan Manu and Parker and been together 10+ years, If we trade Bledsoe which we should and get KG and Pierce

Matt 33 35 in two years

Jamal 33

I can't add but doesn't that make Pierce 41 and KG 39?

KG is 37. Pierce is 35. Not sure where you got Pierce was born in 1977 from lol. Both have a solid two years left most likely if they are rested.

If they are rebuilding why pay for an expensive coach? Just get a cheap coach to run tank city.

Only problem with that is KG is under contract so even if he retires, he can't go to another team until contract expires. Only way to get KG next season is to trade for him.

Doc Rivers,KG for Bled and DJ. Then we flip Caron to the Wolves for Derrick Williams and JJ Barea. Sign Pierce even if that means no Matt Barnes. That would give us a killer lineup and still have the ability to use the mid level to fill the bench.

CP3/JJ Barea

Green/ Crawford

Pierce/Williams

Blake/??

KG/??

'Freaky Friday 2' starring Vinny Del Negro & Doc Rivers.

Synopsis: What happens when a Hall of Fame coach at the prime of his career switches lives with a coach who's down in the dumps and going nowhere? This Summer from the guys who made 'Freaky Friday' and 'Honey, I Shrunk The Kids' comes the feel good comedy of the year, where two Basketball coaches realize that they may need life coaches most of all.

If VDN went to Boston, Bill Simmons' head might explode.

Vinny might just be the worst coach in the league. He sucks at defense, is extremely stubborn, has no offensive system, and doesn't know when to play certain players. If Boston hires him I might just die of laughter.

Doc is obviously my and most people's number 1 choice but I agree. Don't think we'll get him.

I guess it all comes down to the strength of Doc's relationship with Ainge.

I think Doc won't leave Boston because in the end, Ainge will sell Doc on the notion that Rondo is back healthy and they will have one more run left in them and Doc should give it a go one last time to see what they can produce. I mean they are the epitome of a basketball family there with a legacy to be prideful of next to the Spurs.

I don't think so either but it's hard to turn your back on family if they all agree to do it one more time.

KG is under contract, so he CAN NOT just leave and go to another team... I think thats the part that you are missing

if KG wants to leave he has 2 options... A- waive his trade clause and be traded (which is why we would have to trade players) or B- retire.... he CAN NOT just leave the celtics and come to the clippers tho

also Doc Rivers is under contract so it doesn't make sense for the celtics to let him walk without getting compensation... Doc Rivers also CAN NOT just leave and go coach another team... why would they give him permission without getting compensation??

Pierce will likely be released tho, but he is much better than Chauncey and not nearly as injury prone

but yeah... thats why I said... DJ and Bledsoe for Doc and Garnett... then we use the MLE to pick up Pierce

Doc Rivers' "dream scenario" is to coach Kevin Garnett on the Los Angeles Clippers next season, according to the Boston Globe.

"If Doc is honest, his dream scenario is him coaching the Clippers with Kevin Garnett and a chance to win the championship," the Globe's Baxter Holmes reported Friday, citing a source.

Rivers is still under contract with the Boston Celtics for the next three years and $21 million, but speculation has escalated quickly that he wouldn't mind leaving his current perch if the organization allows him to depart. He's believed to be wary of another rebuilding process and would rather coach a contender. Assuming Chris Paul stays in Los Angeles (and hiring Rivers would likely increase the odds of that significantly), the Clippers roster is stacked with talent.

Garnett would need to waive his no-trade clause before any deal with the Clippers could be struck. According to Holmes, the 15-time All-Star would likely do so for another chance to compete for a title with Rivers.

"A possible package could include Rivers and the 37-year-old Garnett heading to the Clippers," wrote Holmes, "with point guard Eric Bledsoe, center DeAndre Jordan, and two first-round draft picks heading to the Celtics."

The Boston Herald reported late Thursday night that the Celtics have already denied the Clippers permission to speak to Rivers. According to the Globe, that's not necessarily a deal-breaker. If Boston is to consider letting Rivers leave, it would want a compensation package in place before allowing him to interview.

If Rivers does leave (it should be noted that he still hasn't made a final decision), he could also spend time as a television analyst.

Speaking of Simmons, I just heard him on "SVP & Russillo" and he said he wouldn't be surprised if this was just a conspiracy between Doc & Danny Ainge to get Doc where he wants to be (likely with KG and Pierce by the time camp starts, though he didn't say that) and get compensation for the C's.

4 am Mis read it but isn't that more reason to consider not getting KG?

Take from this what you will......

Ramona Shelburne ‏@ramonashelburne 58m

Vinny Del Negro, who was being repped by Dan Fegan, has now hired Lonnie Cooper...who just happens to be Doc Rivers agent as well..

I think it would be hilarious if DeAndre Jordan was traded to the Celtics in a package for Kevin Garnett only to find that Vinny Del Negro was the new head coach of the Celtics. More bench time in the 4th quarter for poor DeAndre.

heinous.... Doc Rivers is worth a third rounder at best.... wouldn't mind him as coach, but wouldn't give Danny boy a wooden nickel for the "right" to interview him....

Sacks better have more sack than that....

we keep DeAndre and they cough up their first, second and Jared Sullinger for Bledsoe.... at a minimum.... seriously,

Doc Rivers without KG and Ray= Average Coach........ Doc Rivers with KG and Ray=All time great For the most part players make coaches. Trading away bledsoe for a coach would be crazy IMO.

Well, the hole in that theory is that he won coach of the year without KG, PP, Ray and Rondo.

would love Doc but wouldn't ever give up actual assets for him. seems a bit silly to be honest, it's not like the other choices are that terrible.

Starting to look that way too, isn't it. Well, at least DJs knees will be intact when he gets older as he never needs them much in a game.
