Good, I'm getting tired of CP. Make a trade for Rondo.

Kurt Helin responded to the tweet with "Grain of Salt"

I'm sure they've spoken, I'd inquire about the possibility, doesn't mean they both want to do it.

Stephen A just squashed this. Never doubted CP3 for a moment.

Also said the Clippers will be looking even better to CP in the weeks to come. Deals are brewing people.

Watch, once the story comes out and he mentions that they could team up as Clippers then all of a sudden this source will be reliable. Please guys, just know that Broussard has to stir the pot to keep his job. None of it is true.

Broussard is absolutely fixated on CP3 and Dwight playing together and has been for about 3 years. He's like one of those annoying teenage girls who keep trying to fix up couples who have no interest in each other.

I love how people are so casual about this... Stop acting like he is not the greatest (or one of) players in the league. No trade will amount to the same talent as him (almost none), there is no way we are better off without him (almost none)... And MOST importantly, if he leaves, we go back to the same old Clippers.

Its as simple as this, with him we are competitive... And without him we are NOTHING. That is why our front office has expressed that our #1 priority is that we sign him long term. Before any coach, before any SF, before any bugs or any other roster changes.

The door won't hit him on the way out... It'd hit us, all of us (even the ones who act like it won't be a big deal if he leaves.)

Chris Paul and Dwight Howard have been in consistent contact recently about the possibility of becoming teammates next season, according to league sources.

Paul and Howard will be the biggest free agents on the market this summer, and their desire is to play together, the sources said.

"They would love to play together if somebody can make it happen," one of the sources said.

The Atlanta Hawks could make it happen. Atlanta, which is Howard's hometown, has the cap room to sign both players to maximum-salaried contracts.

Howard is not particularly fond of the idea of returning to Atlanta, but he would do so to team up with Paul, the sources said.

But Paul, despite recently being upset with the Clippers over the perception that he got coach Vinny Del Negro fired, is unlikely to leave Los Angeles, one source said. He has gotten over his anger with the club and likes living in Los Angeles.

"It would be very tough for him to go to Atlanta," the source said. "He loved Atlanta when they should have drafted him in '05 but not so much since then. But hey, everybody is an option at this point."

The preference for both players would be to play together for the Clippers, according to the sources. Because the Clippers don't have enough cap room to sign Howard as a free agent, it would take a sign-and-trade deal with the Lakers to make it happen.

From Chris Broussard: I'm hearing that both Howard and Paul are not happy with the food in Los Angeles and want to play together in Charlotte for the veterans minimum.

I don't think he hates us, necessarily... he just has a boner for CP and DH on the same team and he thinks if he repeats it often enough, it'll come true.

Lol Broussard's name is synonymous with unreliability. Definitely taking this with a grain of salt. Like you guys said, he needs to be controversial in order to keep his job and so that's what he's doing. Also, the media likes to think of themselves higher than they really are and believe they can make something happen by putting it out there and putting "league sources say" next to everything.

On ESPN LA Broussard talks that Chris loves to play in LA and Howard wants to join the Clippers, but there's a very small chance Howard joining. And Broussard says Chris is probably staying with the Clips but there is a little chance Chris leaving

I'm getting sick and tired of posters here like acting like more of CP3 fans than Clippers fans (like LAC 12 did above). I hope whoever feels this way follows CP3 off the Clipper bandwagon if he leaves and I mean that. It's personal for me to hear so many have attachements to a player to the point of taking their side over the team.

My loyalty will always be to the TEAM, players come and go. If you think CP3 leaving dooms our team, you need to wake up. Max cap space, young assets, Blake Griffin is still a great future.

Please don't trade Blake for Howard. Now if the lakers took DJ...since the lakers could lose Howard for nothing and the lakers need to get younger...but I doubt they would trade Howard to us. They would prob rather lose him for nothing or Blake has to be involved.

I think Clips will never trade Griffin. It's more possible sign and trade Butler and Jordan.

I'm just gonna say it CP/Dwight would be a better combination than CP/Blake. Add in the fact that David West would come and play if he could get a starting gig? That team could easily dethrone the heat. But we all know that Griffin is untouchable from the clippers perspective for all of his marketability and how he made this franchise relevant again.

Report: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard text about teaming up. This will not happen. Kurt Helin Jun 14, 2013, 12:43 PM EDT Leave a comment

Getty Images For the owners, pretty much half the reason for the lockout last year was to put in place an economic system that prevents stars from doing what the Miami Heat did with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. (Technically they still could have done that because they stripped the roster all the way down and those guys took less money, but you get the idea). So when you hear things about superstars talking about teaming up right now, take it with a grain of salt. Actually, more like the entire Bonneville Salt Flats. That's my lead in to the latest rumor from Chris Broussard of ESPN. Not. Going. To. Happen. I have no doubt that the two have texted about this. Dwight Howard and Chris Paul are friends, they get along, and no doubt the tandem would be a force. But back to that whole lockout and logistics thing. Broussard says Atlanta can do it. The Atlanta Hawks could make it happen. Atlanta, which is Howard's hometown, has the cap room to sign both players to maximum-salaried contracts. Howard is not particularly fond of the idea of returning to Atlanta, but he would do so to team up with Paul, the sources said. Actually, no Atlanta does not. Teams have a lot less money to spend than you think because of cap holds and other restrictions than people think.. Atlanta could have up to $35 million in cap space, which is not enough to give max deals to both players, but maybe you could convince them both to take paycuts (ala Miami). But to get that $35 million they have to renounce/let sign elsewhere Josh Smith (he's gone, but until he signs elsewhere there is a cap hold on the Hawks salary space). Then they have to renounce every other free agent on their roster - Kyle Korver, Devin Harris, Zaza Pachulia, Johan Petro, Ivan Johnson, Jeff Teague, Dahntay Jones, Hilton Armstrong, Erick Dampier, Etan Thomas, Randolph Morris and Anthony Tolliver. Then they have to waive DeShawn Stevenson, Shelvin Mack and Mike Scott. Or they could amnesty Al Horford. You really think Danny Ferry is going to play that game? Besides, Chris Paul isn't leaving the Clippers. So for Howard to team up with CP3 all you have to do is convince Lakers management to do a sign-and-trade that sends Howard to the Clippers. Good luck with that. And by the way, the Lakers can't do a sign-and-trade unless it is one that brings them down to a salary level below the tax apron (roughly $76 million) so a third team that wants to soak up a lot of salary and bad contracts has to be brought in. So good luck with that. If you're thinking the Clippers would sign-and-trade CP3 to the Lakers, I think that's not a tobacco pipe in your hands. Chris Paul and Dwight Howard together is never going to happen. But they can text about it all they want. Free country and all that.

As he should be. Adjusted for minutes Griffin wasn.t much worse than Dwight last year. He's still got an amazing upside. He's a great teammate and leader, not a team cancer like Dwight. Id never trade Griffin for Dwight either.

Butler and Jordan for Howard Pg:cp3, bled, wayns Sg: green, Crawford Sf: Barnes (resign) free agent Pf: Blake C: Howard

Howard is at least way better at rebounding and defense than DJ even though he can't shoot fts.

How generous of you guys to trade Butler and Jordan for Howard. I'm sure the lakers are keen on helping their cross-town rivals form a super-team while they screw up their cap space.

How many great PF's are in the league right now? 4-5? And Blake is the best.

How many great PG's are in the league right now? 10-12? Chris is more replaceable than BG.

Just for the record I love Chris and would do anything to keep him aside from trading Blake, but lets be real. Blake means so much more to our future than Chris.

With kobe down, the most likely trade would be Bled, Jordan and Jamal for Howard.

Still highly unlikely, though.

Bingo. There are like 30 above average PG's in the league. Only like 3 or 4 teams don't have all star or not far from all star caliber PG's.
