Yes I know the clippers are the receiving team and they are not under the apron much less they will not be under the apron after a trader unless they renounce a lot of players.

Now you're just grasping at straws.

With BG on the books, we have 48 million committed in salaries. How much is the apron? 74 million you say? Give it up...

On BR there's a long article on how we NEED Dwight to retain CP3... This was my response.

This article represents a narrow view that I hope Chris Paul doesn't share with this author. Thinking that a roster of CP/Butler/DH/Crawford/DeAndre would contend is stupid! Especially when a roster much better is very possible, such as CP/Afflalo/Pierce/Blake/KG/Crawford. Much more depth, veteran leadership & maturity in a lineup like that! That's just a possibility to show we don't need Dwight! If Peirce & KG don't pan out we can also S&T Igudola for Caron & our draft pick, then sign Tony Allen & become elite defensively with a coach like L Hollins, or instead of Allen sign OJ Mayo. Dwight is definitely not the end-all-be-all.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about so you give it up. You are talking about players under contract which are 4.

The rest of the players: Paul, odom, billups,Barnes, hollins and Turiaf are our bird free agents. Therefore they count against our cap roughly their last years salary with exception to players coming off their rookie contracts UNLESS we renounce their rights.

So our cap is at $77 ish million.

So like I said it is possible but x,y and z need to happen first.

Exactly. Hollins, Turiaf, and Barnes don't have bird rights...do you even know what that term entails? They don't count against the cap. Billups and Odom have bird rights and are free and clear, no priority FA's. They can be renounced on july 1st when I fully expect they will. hell, in case you didn't know, we were at 69 million when we had all these players on payroll.

We were but griffin got an $8 million raise coming next year. You said what I said, they can renounce their rights.

I'm just messing with you though I did misread the rule and thought the apron applied to the lakers. My bad though I guess we can back to discussing whether we want this trade or not which seems like most everyone here doesn't want it, I as both a laker and clipper fan am intrigued as I think it would help both.

I'm salivating at the chance that Dwight could return to form.

Clippers get a real superstar(possibly if D12 returns to form) to pair with CP And the lakers get some depth they so desperately need.

No knock on griffin but he seems like he would excel as a third option without the pressure of having to be the 2nd best player.

I would rather the lakers and clippers make this trade rather than cp3 and Dwight joining up in another city. Lakers and clippers need to think about making a decision that is best for la...and both guys leaving is not the best for la.

^hell no, not a fair trade at all. the clippers would be f****d if they make this deal. griffin is at this point better than howard. hes the more complete player and has a lot of upside. howard will most likely not return to his old form. cp3 would be stupid to leave all that money on the table to just be with his buddy. but if he wants to leave sign and trade him. get something in return. with the money saved up, sign jarrett jack, extend ebled. then you trade butler. go after jeff green.

I just don't like Howard. It borders on hate. He's corny, and I don't like his gm. Blake really needs to improve his gm, but he seems to lile partying and being famous. He seems to have a lil Mark Sanchez in him. Even the Kate Upton thing reminds me of Sanchez. Still haven't heard about him going to Olajuwon.

All in all, its too early to give up on Blake. But if I was Blake, I'd want to get away from Chris Paul. Games just don't fit

Got more money from Philly and his agent dislike the way the FO was dealing directly with Brand. Big difference.

not that different. cp3 got upset because the owner insinuated that he was the reason why vdn was let go. if you are going to have control of who the clips sign and which coach you want to play for, then you should be able to deal with the reality of your situation and the personnel moves you want to be made. so if thats his reason for wanting to bail on the clips, good riddance. we got the coach we needed, so the ball is in cp3's court now

First sign of this trade being negotiated, we need to protest in front of Staples or Sterling's house or something. It would be such a bad move. We need to keep the player that started all of these good things that are happening for the team.

Even if we give up Bledsoe and DJ instead of Griffin, I still don't think I'd like this trade. I'd be more excited about an Iguodala to a CP3 & Griffin team. Afflalo or Mayo to SG... I mean, since we're doing fantasy teams around the forum right now.
