@ramonashelburne: Bledsoe is a starting point guard in this league. Any team that trades for him knows that. I'll let you connect the dots

Yes please, if Afflalo isn't an option.

Would also love Henson if we can't have Sanders.

are you kidding me? bledsoe for reddick... i thought bledsoes value was going higher, i guess not. we can get SOOO much better for bledsoe I'm in shock. i wasn't a big fan of that affalo deal but if its down to reddick and affalo then I'll take affalo in a heartbeat

Bledsoe for Reddick and John Henson though? Ship him!

Do you know much about Redick? Career 39 percent 3 point shooter, 14/2/4 last year and a very solid defender. There honestly isn't much difference between him and Afflalo because they are similar players. Difference is Redick is an amazing teammate in comparison, little more intelligent. He's constantly moving on offense much like Rip Hamilton. Either Afflalo or Redick great.

add a pick w/ henson...and i might be down.

Add a pick with Henson for a lotto team who's picks are very valuable? No way we get that. Henson alone has pretty damn good value. Last year I watched more than a few Bucks games and both him and Sanders were beasting. I'd say Bledsoe+Green+a future pick from us for Redick+Henson or Redick+Sanders is more fair.

Is Reddick better than Afflalo? don't know - just remember the game where reddick burned us from beyond the arc. Oh vinny and his 3 point defense...

Stupid trade. Isn't belinelli a fa agent? Might as well pick him up instead of reddick

We can do better... If we're gonna give up Bled for a SG, package him with Butler to Dallas for Mayo & Larkin.

Andrew Han ‏@andrewthehan 1m

Redick, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (former Bruin), Henson for Bledsoe, Butler. Sounds decent.

I like this one a lot. Mbah is a fantastic perimeter defending SF. In fact we could even start Redick/Luc then just focus on upgrading center.

just trade bledsoe and caron for eric gordon. they will give him up for nothing right now because they need to shred salary in order to offer tyreke a offer sheet.

I don't know much about Reddick... so I can't comment. All I know is that he is a shooter.

Reddick is perfect for our team. He can spread the floor so well and add defense and intelligence. Also, we obviously wouldn't just get him.

Repped High Quality Post

Redick would be a disappointment. Even adding Luc and Hensen. It sucks.

Bled is the only thing we have available to improve this roster. Only one shot at this and then it's slim pickings in the next couple years. Don't waste the opportunity.

This would be a fine option. We could still pick up mayo if we did this deal since mayo can play backup pg and starting or backup sg and vice versa for reddick. This kinda makes a lot of sense for us especially with luc and henson

I'm going to say no. JJ Redick is an excellent shooter, but you look at his post season #'s and they were not great- in fact, pretty sh*tty. He plays less than half the game during the playoffs. We need to focus more on getting very good players who perform well in the PO, players that you can rely on to perform on long stretches both ends of the floor when there is a lot of pressure. We don't want to bring in a bunch of "pretty good" players, but rather focus on big time starters.

If we did this trade & got OJ would Jamal play backup PG?

CP/Craw

OJ/Reddick

Matt/Luc M/Bullock

Blake/LO

DJ/Henson/Hollins

I wouldn't mind giving up Jamal Crawford. We needed him last year cuz VDN had no offense and we relied on him to create his own offense. But since we will have a "system" and Crawford does little else but score, I wouldn't mind explore to see what we could get for him. His value is high after last season.

And as @ramonashelburne reports, Clippers & Bucks talking Bledsoe S-and-T w/JJ Redick coming to LA. Redick/Clips sitdown said to be imminent

Who knows, in Doc's system Crawford may be more efficient and he may do more than score... I'd at least wait until the all-star break to give up on Jamal.

Redick fits our needs as a catch and shoot threat. But i just think we could do better at trading bled. Not a big fan of Redick's size, defense, commitment. I don't know...

Reddick has made himself into a very good player. But it can't be a straight up deal. If they throw in hensen you jump at it. Just look at when he played a lot for the bucks. He had a stretch at the end of the year where he played about 30 mpg in a 5 game stretch. Averaged 15 pts and 15 boards, 3blocks and also 6 offensive boards. He really came on towards the end of the year.

He is young, on a rookie deal and will only get better. His numbers are already close to DJ

Evans was just offered 44 mil by the pelicans. I'd much rather go young and trade butler 's expiring contract and add someone else to make the salary match

Of the rumors, I'm okay with either

  1. OJ Mayo

  2. JJ Reddick

  3. Afflalo

  4. Gordon (better with R Lopez, though)

Not okay with:

  1. Tony Allen

Isn't Reddick a free agent? So, what the benefit in a sign and trade here? Are people knocking over the I want Reddick door? Pelicans want to move Lopez, I say go there, forget OJ and get Tony Allen

  1. Why would teams or players want to do a sign-and-trade?

Teams benefit because they can get something in return for players they would otherwise lose to free agency. For players the benefits are limited. Under previous CBAs a player who qualified could receive a full Bird contract and go to the team of his choice, which encouraged the player to seek a sign-and-trade once he decided to play elsewhere. Under the current CBA a player receives the same contract via sign-and-trade (four years, 4.5% raises) that he could get by signing with his new team directly, and can receive a larger Bird contract only if he stays with his previous team. In addition, it is much simpler for the player to sign directly with his new team, as a sign-and-trade has to be agreed to by three parties rather than two. A player is really only forced to seek a sign-and-trade if he wants to go to a team that is capped-out (or doesn't have enough cap room to give the player his full starting salary) and can't sign him directly.

Another factor encouraging a player not to seek a sign-and-trade is that his new team might be weakened by losing players or draft picks in the trade. So while a sign-and-trade is a useful tool when the team does not have the cap room to sign the player directly, the player and his new team have little reason to seek a sign-and-trade when the player can be signed without involving his previous team.

The NBA needs to change the rule on sign and trade. Teams that traded for upcoming UFA's shouldn't be allowed to S&T. You either re-sign him or lose him to free agency. That should be the punishment for teams that are just looking for expiring contracts.

I'm ok with Mayo and afflaflaflafllo (bloody name). Tony Allen would have to come with a 3-point expert at SF.

I like this deal, or the Mayo deal. They both put Bledsoe in a really good position to start and showcase his talents, while also filling a need for us. We'll still need to find a suitable backup pg after all this, assuming Chauncey Billups signs elsewhere.

J.J. Redick on one hand is a very good shooter and has added other aspects to his game, but on the other hand, while 6'4 he has 0.5 less reach than Bledsoe, is less athletic and isn't as strong, so defensively, even though he doesn't slack, he can only do so much. It's hard to pin him as your starting SG. If Crawford wasn't on the team, he would be a good backup guard. As a starter, it's just a tough situation on defense for him.

Again showing why the height of your head is not the important thing on defense, and in basketball in general.

No way would I take this trade unless it was Bledsoe and DJ for Reddick and Sanders.I really doubt they would trade Sanders so I wouldn't do this trade.Riddick is a great shooter but he is 29 already. Why would we give up Bledsoe who is only 23 and has a lot of potential for only Riddick. If they include Henson then I would really think about it but Bledsoe is our only good trading piece,we need to get the most we can for him.
