Top 3PT shooters in general really, good stuff Smile

Yea true. Both are CAREER 40 percent three point shooters. That's absurd. Imagine their efficiency now with CP3 creating for them on drive and dish and teams now will be FORCED to stop doubling Blake as much, so expect a big year from him too.

@WojYahooNBA: Tony Allen has agreed to a four-year, $20 million contract extension with Memphis, league source tells Y! Sports.

Phew! We dodged a bullet. If we offered Tony Allen this contract we would've looked like morons. FOUR YEARS?!? He's almost 32 years old. Atleast they are only paying $5 mil a year. Not bad

Redick>>>>>>>>Allen for fit, always has been. 2 years younger and only about 1.3 mill a year more expensive.

redick is literally a one trick pony. He's a better defender? Better ball handler? What are you basing this on exactly? It's a complete and total sidegrade IMO, for an additional 5 million. I like dudley, but redick was really the only other guy available?

I want more then CP looking for them, we need a good offense where everybody passes and open players are found that way. Instead of hand CP the ball and hope he can create. That can be stopped, but a goof offense with smart players who are unselfish will find the open guy every time. Like the Spurs

Redick is not a one trick pony. Very solid defender and willing passer too.

Thats the value of shooters like Reddick. He Is not a top 20 player on his own but a good shooter to take pressure off, and this will let chris do what he does best which is to choose the weapon. I hated the hero ball in game 2 of the playoffs because i felt our lack of offense was forcing CP3 to try and do it all. now he has support, and they can't double Paul, Reddick and Dudley will make em pay...love this team

I can't post links but google Doc + JJ and he has great comments about him while facing Orlando in the playoffs..

From Orlando-Sentinal:

J.J. Redick has a history of being a splinter in the Boston Celtics' side. After last night's performance, J.J. Redick has blossomed into a full blown thorn.

For the second consecutive game, J.J. Redick has sparked Orlando's bench and outpaced Vince Carter on offensive production churning out 12 and 14 points in the past two games.

"We didn't know he was going to be Pistol Pete coming into this series," Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers joked. "Everybody is talking about Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson, but J.J. Redick has been the most consistent player."

J.J. Redick is averaging double figures in the Eastern Conference Finals (10.8 ppg) playing an average of just under 27 minutes a game.

It's no coincidence, however, that J.J. Redick's offensive production has soared in two games where Jameer Nelson has been decidedly more aggressive in attacking the paint causing the Celtics' defense to collapse inside and create more open outside shots.

The Magic, down 3-2 in the series, will have to utilize every weapon possible to complete the unprecedented task of climbing back from a 3-0 deficit to beat a team in a best of seven series.

Maybe a little J.J. Redick could go a long way.

So who do you believe will be more effective in Game 6? J.J. Redick or Vince Carter?

Watching them play, checking the numbers to verify. Redick was a 15/2/4 player for Orlando this year and handled so e backup PG and secondary ball handler duties.

Redick plays fundamental defense but has physical limitations, but sadly for Green, he isn't a big SG himself, and his defense isn't as fundamentally sound.

Watch that, he's no longer a one dimensional catch and shoot guy (he was never only catch and shoot, could always move around and handle a little, but has moved his on ball skills in the NBA). Because of the attention he draws as a shooter and moving off screens, he's also added a play Ray Allen does a lot which is to come off a screen, when the big comes to help prevent the shot, he passes it to the rolling pick setter (dump off). He uses picks well on the pick and roll and can shoot and pass from them. He moves a lot off the ball and helps to keep motion on the offense. He can be used as a secondary ball handler and can create a bit.

as a white male, i am happy to see JJ on the team lol. But seriously, the reason I have never liked either of these player is simply because they aren't on my team. I am thrilled to have them and I think (just like last year with Barnes) they are going to some fan favorites. mark my words!

Repped High Quality Post

A lot of posters lately when they hear we get anybody not named Lebron James.

Do you guys ever watch the deep playoffs? Guys like Battier, Miller, Green etc are always HUGE role players that carry their team at times into the finals or to the ring. Mike Miller last year, Battier this year. Redick and Dudley are on that level of role player. Guys who can swing series if they start bombing 3's.

F%#k, when does the pre-season start, lol. I'm starting to get antsy already and we can't even officially sign any FA's yet....yikes.

Better get a glass of wine or yet a bottle of vin rouge and try to relax.

The only real thing I'm worried about now is chemistry. I wasn't sure we should replace BOTH the SG and SF spot, especially since I was more interested in replacing the C spot. But I'm kinda excited by all this!

The more I think about this trade, the less I like it. We got two serviceable role-players for a serviceable role-player, a rising star and a 2nd rounder. Keep in mind that Bledsoe is the only player in the entire deal with a PER above average...

Hard to have an above average PER when forced to be a 1st or 2nd option on lotto teams when in actuality you're best suited as a 4th option.

What's further, this is clearly a financially min/maxed move; an effort to keep us under the luxury tax threshold. This leads me to believe that Sterling didn't actually give the green light to spend over the cap, despite him saying all last season that he was down to pay tax. These moves were then, from a financial standpoint, the best we could do.

come on man!Lets assumne Bledsoe is this amazing PG...we have CP3 that makes Bledsoe an asset to trade for needs. Caron was declining and second rounders are garbage most often than not.

I'm an advanced matrix guy and use PER as a tool, but it's not the only tool to measure a players talent level. One of a few. The others I looked at indicated this was a good deal for the Clippers.

This makes you confident in them? What I am saying is that I don't think we had to settle for players that are best suited to being 4th options on their team.

If we don't trade for Lebron you guys aren't happy. Seriously you think Bledsoe was going to get Chandler Parsons or something? We traded a high caliber role player for two very good role players.

BTW did you know Battier has had a HUGE HUGE HUGE hand in Miami's last two finals wins and guess what his PER is? 10.7 this year, 9.7 last year. Damn that PER the end all metric!

and thats what we needed. We all saw that the big three alone couldnt do it. it took some role players to put em over the that hump. we got this

Butler was a great teammate and all but he was beyond streaky, loved jacking bad shots and his defense declined astonishingly quick the last 3 or 4 years.

I don't think you do. I was asking you to pontificate, in a very sardonic way, instead of just saying that your infallible matrix skills claim that X is the case.

Miami has Lebron, Wade, and Bosh... of course their role players are gonna be threats.

Not saying this is a bad trade, but I just wanted to say that... carry on.

Blake Griffin and Chris Paul attract more attention than anybody on the Heat not named Lebron. Teams constantly trap and double these guys and it's actually BECAUSE we have no reliable role players, not the other way around. Now that we have guys that will obliterate teams who do this.. things will change.

those hating on this trade are very silly. we all kept saying how we needed more shooter to open things up for bg. we just acquired redick and dudley. add bullock and the clips are now a legit 3 pt shooting team. we are essentially the warriors on roids because we have cp3 and BG who are better than curry and lee. plus we got the best coach outside of popovitch. and the clips are not done making moves. this team is going to be a contender no doubt.

That is the biggest plus that I see from this trade. Their shooting will be able to punish and prevent doubling and cheating by the defense and, hopefully, indirectly improve Blake and DJ's production. I was just hoping for someone who could create their own shots and carry the team in the rare event that Blake and CP both have off nights.

Didn't Redick and Ray Allen get into a scuffle last season?

I'm pretty relieved about this. As much as I appreciate Bledsoe, I'm happy he gets to (hopefully) start for another team, and we don't have to have worry about the decision anymore. Redick is a solid SG and probably perfect for our needs. I'm also relieved to unload Butler. I admire the guy, but he just didn't step up when we needed him too. He forgot how to rebound the ball. He had WAY too many travels. Too many SF's torched us thanks to his lack of D (although I thought his D was better this past year than the year before). Dudley is an improvement over Caron, even if it's a subtle improvement. And Redick may not be a better overall player than Bledsoe, he's a better fit.

I don't agree with some here that we should lose Crawford. I think we still need his offensive versatility off the bench. It's all the more important now that we have some good spot up, off the ball scorers.

I wish Billups well, but I sure hope he's the next to leave.
