What season was it that Lebron started working on his post game?

Why make the assumption that if Blake doesn't work with Hakeem he does nothing?

I think Blake's history speak for itself, but maybe he just deliberately injured himself....

If there is a player on the current squad I'm not worried about getting better for next year, is Blake Griffin. dude is a gym rat who actually get better as season progresses.

at same time...maybe he can trick DJ into joining him...maybe tell him they are going to goof around w parson..in Houston

No need to make an assumption, just gotta look at his number. He's been in a decline so whatever he did the past 2 yrs in the summer hasn't worked so time for a change

I hope he trains with Hakeem. He and DJ as a matter a fact. They should some post moves and get some tips on defense. Especially DJ.

Hakeem is a legend. Can't pass up such an opportunity.

I know for a fact that he made a killing off real estate. He doesn't need $ at all. He is set for life. He does it because he enjoys mentoring players probably and the side $ is always nice. I

The only thing that dropped is rebounding and Hakeem ain't teaching that

A rebounding leader can't teach a player how to rebound better?

Blake already knows how to rebound, he just didn't try to get them last season. If he tried his hardest and gotten 3-4 more minutes he wouldve average 20 & 10 just like his first 2 seasons

No, Blake's post game was ahead of his mid-range jumper and free throws.

Just because you know how to do something doesn't mean you can't be better at it. That being said rebounding isn't what I want BG to focus on. Hakeem can definitely help him with his post game and even his defense.

I was being sarcastic. Everyone on here is assuming Blake isn't doing the best he can already. Guarantee he is working with other great coaches and probably working out all summer.

News flash: Hakeem isn't the only big man coach in the nba

He's the best big man some of had a chance to see. He might be the best big man of all time (he is in my opinion, i saw the very end of kareem when i was little but the dream was the whole package). These are great credentials and i'm sure he is not a bad teacher, but it doesn't necessarily make him the best teacher. I'd like to see dj and him work with different vets, if we could have dj work with rodman, mutmbo or oakley i'd be happy; with blake i'd be happy if he worked with the dream, kareem, or with whoever timmy has worked with in his earlier years.

Karl Malone would be a decent coach for Blake. Think is Malone really ballooned up in his prime. He became more of a muscular freak than an athletic one.

Yeah hakeem is not the only big guy who has post moves.. I'd rather see mailmanworkout with blake tho. His post moves r not that flashy but very effective

This is what I was thinking. Blake should go and drag DJ with him. Seems as though DJ may be too much of an influence and perhaps Blake should should try to influence DJ instead.

Going to Hakeem Olajuwon camp would be nice for Blake. But come on, his #1 area needing improvement is the jumper. So if he doesn't make it to that big man camp, but focuses on improving his J, I wouldn't complain one bit.

As for DeAndre Jordan- it would be great too to go workout with Hakeem. But his #1 thing is to improve is free throw shooting. Focus on getting that to around 60%, and he would be so much more effective.

Blake needs this. He's already averaging 20/10 without the help of the dream...a post game and dependable jump shot will make Blake a top 5 player.

I hear people talking about how they would like DJ to shoot 60% next year.... that would be an astonishing feat considering he shot 38% last year. If he trained his ass off for 5 years, he might improve it the 22% necessary to get to 60%.

go to 1:44 of that video. Clippers championship aspiration is in good hands. You'll also see DJ's response to working out with Hakeem.

Does DJ really need a vacation from a long season of watching the Clippers play court side in the 4th quarter? Most people pay big $$ for that.

Nah nah nah you totally deserve it DJ. 9 months of trying to convince yourself that you are a $10 mil a year player can be taxing on your brain.

What numbers are we looking at? Career high FT%? Assist per minute, steals? I mean if analyze the numbers poorly then he's declined, but that's what other teams fans who just take a glance at the numbers should be doing, not Clipper fans who watch him a lot

Hahaha... oh God Billups is coming back. Taking vacations now with our bigs? Look I'm cool if Billups is willing to accept minimum and be the UNQUESTIONED backup but if this fool tries to impose F him.

Edit: smaller black dude is not Billups. Unless he suddenly has a Madonna gap tooth.

Kate Upton is more well known in Europe then 2 nba players. If she was in that vid, the title would've been- Kate Upton w/ 2 american professional basketball players

I honestly think that if someone can help DJ figure out how to attack the bucket strong and keep from being stripped all the time..........he'd be pretty dangerous. Even though DJ's trash at the stripe, the opposing C only gets a pair of fouls, maybe 3 before he's down on the pine for the rest of the half.

DJ needs to work the Big Aristotle this summer. His play style resembles Shaq's more than Hakeem's.

Watched some of First Take this morning, and they still talking about how soft Blake is. I know it's only one show, but Blake should be pissed that players are talking about him behind its back. He should be determined to dominate.

Yea I'm watching the First Take Blake thing now. I actually agree with them that Blake needs to dig deep inside and get angry. Enough of the nice guy act. He needs to go from victim to bully on the court and people saying it's just not him... bullshit. When people constantly attack you it SHOULD make you motivated and if not, don't play sports.

I almost feel embarrassed FOR Blake being a fan and having people consistently pick apart his manhood. Lebron and Dwight have been called cowards, cheaters blah blah blah... but as a man being called soft is pretty much as bad as it gets. Especially if your peers are the ones saying it. It's time to man up Blake.

I know I'm pissed. Smith is basing pretty much all this on Z Bo and trash talk by the Grizzlies. Maybe there's other bigs out there who have said this also. All I know is it's easy to say this about a guy who got eliminated from the playoffs. Blake can't answer back with his game.

When the Clippers beat the Grizz the season before, Blake didn't talk crap about Z Bo or that team because he has class. These guys have attacked Blake when he can't retaliate until next season.

Truth is, there are bigs out there that don't like Blake. And it's not because he's "soft". It's because he pisses them off. He gets in their head. He makes Z Bo WANT to choke him out. He makes Demarcus Cousins challenge him to a fist fight and call him an "actor" who should live in Hollywood. It's the same reason dudes were pulling wrestling moves on him in college games. But here's the thing. I see no evidence that ANY of these things have effected Blake's game. The Sooners won that college game and Blake had, like, 28 and 13. The Clippers won that game where Cousins took a lot of cheap shots and challenged Blake to a fight. In fact, Blake made 3 clutch baskets down the stretch, 2 of them jumpers. And he had a monster game against Cousins the very next night in LA.

So that leaves us with Z Bo and this years playoffs. Unfortunately, Blake and the Clippers got eliminated and Z Bo can talk all the crap he wants and Stephen A Smith can report it as "fact". And Blake can do nothing about it...

...until next season. I full expect Blake to answer back, especially with the new teammates.

One more thing about Stephen A Smith's comments. He still questions Blake's low post consistency. Totally forgetting that Blake was actually THE most consistent player on the team. Stepping up at times others didn't.

We'll see what happens.

Voyeur Stephen actually made it a point not to criticize his game but his mentality/heart. He said Blake is a young star and his game will develop but it's his HEART that he and Blake's peers question.

But that's what I don't get, cf86. If it doesn't relate to how he plays the game, what are they really talking about? That he should fight back some other way besides his game? I'm going to post an old article related to that college game because I think it applies even now:

I think he needs to address this the same way he has addressed his free throw shooting. If you work that low post game to dominate then they won't say anything or look like fools for doing it. When Cousins was talking crap, but Blake was having field days against his squad Cousins looked like a fool. When ZBo did it he looked correct cuz he had the production to back it up, even though it was done mostly while Blake was hurt. I agree with Voyeur about the timing of Zbo's comments, since he doesn't have to worry about Blake coming back and posterizing him the next game.

Blake just come back and put up the production. Don't let them push you around, but continue to better your play and the rest will settle itself out. I know he had a drop off, but most players that can average as many rebounds as he has and score most of their plays at the rim are not soft.

Repped High Quality Post

I honestly don't think he needs to fight. He needs to become a dominant offensive player. If someone talks trash or cheapshot him, and then he drops 35, people would look at him much differently. But when he's confronted, he seems to just fade away. Like they took him out the gm. Mentally he's a lil weak. But if he develops that J, he would probably have a lot more confidence to dominate. I don't consider any of the superstars tough guys, but mentally they're all confident and trust their games. People don't cheap shot Kobe because he'll probably embarrass them by dropping 50. Same with Bron and Durant. A young Duncan too.

I also think Kenyan Martin is one of Stephen A's sources. He seems bitter. Same with ZBo for getting kicked out of LA for Blake.
